Odenplan, Gamla stan (The Old Town), Odengatan, Vanadislunden, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stureplan, Drottninggatan, Söder Mälarstrand
The song is "Leva & dö", made by Petter.
Enjoy, and good luck learning!
i love how you're taking us on a city tour while teaching swedish!
that s the best on this video! sooo cool!
Yeah!!
Exakt!
Very very good and innovative, your method beats both direct and indirect methods! I really enjoyed the pronouciation, that is so important!
Thank you very much!
Jean-Jaques Rousseau myckhet myckhet gott* (or something like that)
Kopen in dutch, kaufen in german and köpa in swedish= to buy.
Köpa is pronounced shopa. So, from there comes the word shop/shopping in english.
I’ve watched all of your videos and I’m now a big fan! Your teaching approach with humour, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, cultural context with acting and a real life context and acting is something I always try to do in the classroom with my students as an English teacher as well. You’ve answered some burning questions in this video I’ve had about Swedish for a long time! Confirming the pronunciation of “dig = dej” and “de = dom” and also the word “ligger” featured at the end of a question about the location of something. Well done! I hope you continue to make more videos on teaching Swedish! Tack för att du gjorde videorna! Du är en jättebra svensklärare Erik! 👍👍
I lived in Stockholm for 3 years, and I have so many beautiful memories there. Thanks to you, they all came to my mind again. I miss Sweden.
Sweden, perfect country for me! Hope in 2017 will work and live there. Their English is perfect. Been there 3x and just love it!
Great! Hope you can!
That's my life goal now. I'll make it!
Hi, just curious question: How tall are you and what is the average height of men in Sweden? Greetings.
This video makes me want to move to Stockholm!
Tack så mycket

But not english. ;) Men nej engelska.
+Boris Petkovic
If you meant to write "...but not English" in Swedish then it should be "...men _inte_ engelska". =P

Thanks a lot for performing "real" situations! It helps to understand the emphasis/accents and intonations in the phrases.
I like your very clear pronunciation. Your videos are very helpful, nicely made.
Just remember that it is pretty exaggerated, and that normal Swedish is smoother.

När man har svenska som modersmål så förstår man inte hur svårt det är för nya personer att lära sig.
Ändå är det ett av det enklaste språken, åtminstone för talare av andra germanska språk, som engelska, tyska eller holländska. Det ligger faktiskt på kategori ett (=snabbast att lära, för en amerikan) på amerikanska militärens lista.
Det är det som är hela grejen med olika språk kompis
Thank you very much! Your videos are really fun and informative, hope you'll keep making them)
Stockholm is beautiful and you ARE very nice!!!!!

I am so devastated by the swedish vowels ^^ i and e seem to be pronunced so deep in the mouth, very unusual sound to me. I can't find any equivalent to it in german nor in english.
well done dude! I hope to share a cup of tea with you next time in Stock!
Thank you very much Erik! So interesting and entertaining, what a superb quality! Please keep teaching us Swedish!
There is a risk that people will just start speaking english if you ask something in broken swedish since most swedes are good at english.
+Wastedpepsi That's because it's a required course in Swedish schools starting in about third grade. That's why Erik is fluent in it now -- he grew up studying it!
haha laughed a few times, good work man tuck tuck!
Thanks!
stockholm är vackert ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Tack så mycket, det är til stor hjalp

omg I love you! haha I've been trying to learn Swedish for a while now and have been needing videos like this!
Hi! Thank you very much . it is very usefull to me :-)

This is my favourite lesson of all. I began to study swedish language a half of year ago in a language school. And I think my dream come true, because I always want to learn this language. I wonder to move to Stockholm or to any suburb of it. because I see a capital once and the city conquer me. As I undestand you right, you are study now. Who do you want to be? Och en fråga till. How do you think, swedish people are well relate to the fact that a foreigner speaks English? Is it hard to you to communicate in English or easier when a person speaks Swedish?
Jaha , jag är frän Ryssland, St. Petersburg. Jag heter Nastia. Tack så mycket.
it was a great video, cannot wait to be in Stockholm in January!
now at least l know some Swedish.
big like from Australia 😊
I find your videos nice and funny. I like them specially because I am a French teacher and I know how hard it is teaching. I'm visiting Stockholm soon for a few days (school trip)
I really want to learn Swedish but you're so damn good looking, it makes it extremely hard to focus. Just saying ;)
Hi Erik, why is your pronunciation of the days sounds like 'd-ahg'? I was taught that dag is pronounced as 'dohg'. Is this a dialectal variation?
+Odis Huffman
I have never heard about that. I think you have misunderstood it or that you´ve heard something rare. Pretty sure there are almost no variation in how people say "dag" around Sweden. We say "dag" or "da" (not pronouncing the g).
I see. I have to listen more carefully next time! It's probably my beginner ears. So dag never rhymes with the english word 'dog'?
+Erik Edler Hm... it´s possible that some in the most southern part of Sweden have some sort of "o" sound in the word dag, but that´s not to learn from. And still that wouldn´t be that close to rhyme with the English dog.
got it! Thank you!
As a start learner this video is very useful. I want to see next video soon tack
really great idea these videos where for example you walk through the city and the words you introduce are shown on the screen; it helps me a lot; thanks
I'm not sure if "shy" is quite the right word to describe typical Swedish people.
I would say that we are simply _reserved,_ and don't usually approach strangers if there isn't a concrete reason to do that.
It can _happen_ of course, since some Swedish people do have very social personalities (and those people tend to be very popular as well), but it's not really that common.
I am fairly reserved and introverted myself, but I am not exactly _shy_ of people - I can easily hang around in large crowds, work with random students at my school during laborations and even make speeches in front of large audiences without any problems, I just don't usually start chatting with someone that I don't already know at least a little bit.
Great video! Thanks for making these.
i have learn alots of swedesh i apriciate you thnks bro we want more videos
Tak
OMG... This way of learning Swedish is sooooo cool. Thank you
In words with "R", it is "R" like norwegian, or it is "R" like french "R" or german?
hiii Eric thank you for help us I hope you will continue it!!!
This is really cool, thank you. Even though I'm not a beginner, it's great to see/hear you use the words; this is what real direct method should be about. :)
Τhank you very much! I love swedish language. I had some courses enough years ago here in Athens. I want to try again!!!
I would like to give you an advice so research about Islam it’s the most religion that accepted infront of Allah or the day of judgement
Hej! Yeah you were right! Trottoar is pronounced quite the same way as "trottoir" in French ;)
I notice this video says Hot Dogs sign that where you stand by. Is there people know what is that mean Hot Dog ( English) instead Kor?
Erik, where did you capture the view of Stockholm on the last shot?
Hej! I really love and enjoy your Swedish lessons. Hope you will upload more in the future. Keep up the good work Erik.
