    Aww man, this really, really saddens me but SLF are a fraction of the burning light they were. Don't get me wrong I love them and everything they stood for (and still do) and growing up in NI during the 70's, they steered many a person in the correct direction. I know they are in their 60's now but to me, there is no energy or passion in these songs. It's maybe because the lyrics don't have the impact they had during the Troubles and there is less to rage against. One of the reasons why I don't go to see them anymore, nothing will compare to those shows in Belfast in the late 70's. Plus, where were all these people when the punks were getting chased around towns by skinheads etc, could've done with those reinforements

    • @VincentRE79
      @VincentRE79 Год назад +7

      Really can't expect them to be the same as they were in 1977 they are now in their mid 60s.

      @eugenemclemmont4045 Год назад +1

      I agree as well, they have fallen in the last 10 years or even less. Used to see them every year in Blackburn but no more. The only distinguishing feature
      Jake has left is his voice. Grantly is still up to it so its got to be the guitars.

    • @sklosct7416
      @sklosct7416 Год назад +9

      There is nothing sad about it and I couldn't disagree more. Nothing can compare the the late 70's but it ain't the late 70's mate and the punters are having a blast singing SLF songs. The music and lyrics transcend the years and hold up pretty damn well! Sure, there is no more "Take a look where you're livin'-You got the army on the street", but lest we forget. No band could compete with SLF in their Prime, but we take what we can get-Hanx!
