  • In today's video, we tackle this 1980s 928 S Euro's ignition system. We begin by installing a new distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs, and ignition wire. then we tackle the air leaks and old hoses under the intake manifold. Lastly, we attempt to start the car on ether/ starter fluid.

I have 2 incredible 928's that are close to running. I'll pay you whatever it takes to get them back on the road.

Surprisingly that bolt through the intake is factory! My 79 has one too. It helps hold the air box in place.

Interesting. Thanks for clarifying. This is the first time I've worked on an early model 928.

The early cars with Kjet definitely have their own unique quirks! Excited to see you work more on this one

The bolt through the intake to hold the airbox housing is factory. It goes against a round metal plate on the airbox and when you tighten the bolt you secure the airbox. Also the rear ground strap should have a copper attachment point on the top of the rear body panel.

What is the engine code stamped by the thermostat housing? M28-12?

1982 4.5lt bolt through intake still there, I was foiled and thought Airbox was held with hex screw down hole infront of this bolt to find out this is the mixture screw and should not be touched, luckily managed to get it all working nicely again
But the K-Jetronic is a maze of vacuum tubes running pretty well everything
      But great video
