Hey Rob, heard anything about the upcoming Bandai MMS Godzilla and Anguirus 1955? I preordered them from Awesome Collector and they're set for a November release.
This figure is like our parents giving us ice cream but it turns out it was actually ice cream and it tasted good while you celebrate that you got ice cream there is just something about the distant future that your parents will give you broccoli ice cream once again.
Even though this year for the movie monster series have been hit or miss. I Have to say this figure has been worth the duds. This was easily the best movie monster figure of the year. The details are on point. The sculpt is chefs kiss phenomenal and the paint is great. And they paint to the tip of the tail. After the duds recently from the movie monster series line this figures give me so much hope for the movie monster series line that it is smooth sailing from here. An easy 9.8/10 for me . Man its a great time to be a showa fan
It is a very much needed sigh of relief, but at the end of the day... It's an exclusive release. These are usually better than what wide releases turn out to be. BUT, I'll keep the hope. Maybe Kaiser Ghidorah is simply the worst this year.
This figure has become one of my favorite figures in my collection. The first I ever saw Godzilla vs Megalon was on Mystery Science Theater 3000. Having this figure, alongside Megalon, Gigan ‘72, and Jet Jaguar is a dream come true.
Funny that this came out now since I just made a custom Godzilla 1973 out a NECA 1964, might pick this up anyway since I do like the MegaroGoji suit, fav Showa suit. (All of them, 73, 74 and 75)
@@ShinRobjirathen again, they might just reissue the '75 mold from the Memorial Box Collection and give him a repaint. Similar to what they did with Godzilla '84 last year.
By some miracle I managed to get one at a good price immediately after seeing your review. It’s the Godzilla figure I never even knew I had wanted my whole life.
@@christiandenault7606 Well keep 72 Gigan until they decide to make a 73 Gigan figure but better yet the US Showa Gigan looks more 73 than 72 so that might be better
I remember seeing this figure on the Godzilla Store live-stream 2 months ago and I gotta say I did not like it (although the dorsal plates looked great). I did downloaded a couple of pics from the stream and I have to admit the more I looked at it, the more I started to change my mind; and by the time we got to the July Godzilla live-stream I was in love with it, and now I have to have. Thanks for video Rob, it cemented my desire to buy this one.❤👍
Man this figure is actually so much better looking than the promo images made me believe! The sculpt, texture, paint all of it! I'm in love! It's a shame that when I get mine I'll have to put it straight into storage 😭
OOF, moving yeah? A collector's worst nightmare.... next to house fires. and the secondhand market. and the economy. and dust. and heat. I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST ON YOUR MOVE, FAM! BE SAFE!
2001, Toonami into Adult Swim, nearly every 15 minutes lol great, great times! I remember that song being the reason a lot of music stores back in the day started expanding their imports sections. Damn good times! 🥹
can't wait to compare this guy to '75 and fake godzilla once he's in my hands. I'm really interested to see what was just remolded and what is new fully, besides the neck and face of course. Just watching the video though, It looks like they may have used the same general body mold as 74, 75 and fake goji, (especially with how the neck base folds to the left and just the width of everything being the same) But they retextured it. The scales are a lot sharper and slightly 'rectangular' on 73.
This figure looks great and I want it so bad. I just hate that the mouth isnt open. I get why its not, but it just bothers me as someone who uses these figures for battle videos. With a closed mouth he cant fire atomic breath or even roar.
I would love for bandai to do a movie monster series version of Godzilla 1964. Don't get me wrong, the 50th memorial box version is great but it would be awesome if it got reissued with a more movie accurate paint job.
He's perfect and he's real!! An amazing looking figure for an amazing suit design. I love that he has a closed mouth as I always associated this Godzilla with it. That and he looks cute! Now hoping for new vinyls for the 74 gang next year. I would love a new 74 goji (my personal fav suit).
Adorable. Demented. Hero. Godzilla 1973. Truly the top tier. I’m really hoping we can FINALLY get a new ‘74 Tin-Can (seriously, it’s been too damn long) on top of MekaGoji and FakeGoji. King Cesar being part of the rumor mill feels very… on point in terms of timing 👀
It really looks really great! Despite some additions to it. Wish I could buy it, but I don't have much money to get them. Still this is a fantastic figure here.

probably not, G-Store exclusives have remained exclusives since they began being made. closest we could get is a "retro color version" of this thing, even then, it'd remain exclusive

It was a surprise to see it remodeled.

I have that Godzilla he is my favorite
Ahhh, YES, as a Showa nut, this MAKES ME HAPPY. IT'S REAL AND IT'S GLORIOUS!

72 Gigan is pretty close enough so you got the four of Godzilla vs Megalon with a better 73 Gojira, Jet Jaguar and Megalon

just give him the pissed off face and there you have a perfectly good variant.
