I watched this as a kid and I still love this show with a passion. I watched this more than batman the animated series. Batman beyond is the goat

I'd argue any day that Batman: The Animated Series is maybe the peak of television animation. That being said...

@@TheDylls I think we can make arguments for a few DC animated series to be the "best", but personally nothing will go beyond "Batman: Beyond" for me.
A young Batman in the future with old Batman as his mentor, great animations, a slightly more mature setting, edgy music, and from the 90s? Unbeatable.
What is tragic about the first few mins is Batman never ever uses a gun that is his golden rule and he realized that he had to use a gun to get out of that situation and that is why he said he haves to hang it up because he no longer can be the hero he was and being justice the way he used to

They can dress up like Joker, but they clearly don't know what the real Joker is all about and what he's really capable of. It was never about money, just pure chaos.
It is a good continuum of the Batman: The Animated Series. I have the complete series on DVD of both series. The sad thing is Batman Beyond lasted only 3 seasons. Batman Beyond also has a movie. It is Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. In case you want to watch it as well.
We do plan to watch the movie once the 3 seasons are over. So far Emily has enjoyed the show.

@@KalElCanFly the Batman Beyond costume was made of high tech materials. And it basically made up force Bruce Wayne's old age. It gave him super strength increased his agility and his reflexively. It was completely bullet proof. Fire resistant allows him to fly and it has a camouflage capacity which allows him to turn invisible. And had microphones in the finger tips that let him eavesdrop on conversations. By sticking his fingers on glass.

this show should've had 10 seasons. one of the best of all time. definitely worthy of continuing the perfect animated series

I like many wasn't born when this first aired but, I watched in on a bootleg website in high school, the film Return of The Joker was my introduction to this and I actually think Terry is my favorite Batman. I won't get into it too much but, I feel that Terry's existence allows Bruce to Heal emotionally where he wasn't able to before.

I was born in 99 so i wasnt old enough to catch new episodes of this and the batman the animated series but these both were always on and ive always been a fan so theyre a big part of my childhood and all i can Say is youll enjoy it and the theme song remains top tier

I grew up with this born in 1993 at 27 weeks premature so in January of 1999 when Batman Beyond was released I was 6 years old.
A huge reason why Batman's suit is different at the beginning of the episode is because of Bruce's age. Due to the stress and damage his body has been going through, a more advanced Batsuit was needed to help him. The fact that Batman can throw someone over the wing of an airplane is an indicator that the suit allows for Bruce to take on weight far easier, and since he got hit by a crowbar without severe injury, means that the suit is able to take huge hits. And with the time period he is in, he needs to be more upgraded and able to fly.
This was the Batman that was released at the perfect time for me personally... Like, it aligned with my age and interests so perfectly. I knew a bit about Batman already, but Terry McGinnis (with Bruce Wayne as his "Guy In The Chair") will always be my favourite Batman

Thank you. I wasn't sure of the exact year. Around the time this was released I was getting ready to up and move from the UK to the USA so I missed out on this. Glad I am getting to experience it with my wife.
Batman Beyond, Static shock, Teen Titans, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited are all staples for DC fans.

In the beginning it's Bruce wearing the Batman beyond suit. He made that one to compensate for his lost strength as he grew older.

The executives wanted a Batman in high school serial. This is what they delivered.
