This is one of the first xmen movies i was able to see in theaters. Really made me fall in love with Xmen (and Michael Fassbender 😍) I would love to believe that if i were a mutant i would align with Xavier but knowing myself, i would have joined Magneto.

X-men was the biggest thing Marvel had in the 90's but after the movie rights got split up, and Marvel started making their own movies they did have an actual corporate decision to down play the x-men because they didn't want Fox having all the rights to the characters in movies and tv etc and competing w/ the MCU/Avengers so they weren't promoted as much in comics and merchandise that Marvel still had the rights to. Now that they got all the rights back is why you are seeing a lot more X-men stuff in the mainstream. When they weren't promoting them they wouldn't even let the characters be in videogames or any of that even though they had some of the best selling games back in Genesis/SNES/Playstation/Gamecube days.

It's still my favourite live-action ensemble X-Men movie. I love how Matthew Vaughn uses these characters and their powers. James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender are fantastic together as younger versions of Professor X and Magneto (Micheal Fassbender especially) That F-bomb from Wolverine's cameo is one of the greatest F-bombs Ive ever seen in a movie. Fun Fact: Hugh Jackman was told to improvise that scene without Micheal Fassbender and James McAvoy's knowledge, so their reactions in that scene are genuine. However, I will admit the movie isn't perfect as the prosthetics are a bit off, some characters are underutilized, and Mystique's character arc feels a bit rushed, not to mention the infamous meme of the movie, for no logical reason, killing off one of the only black characters who' mutant ability is to survive any scenario possible, nevertheless this is still one of the best movies in the Fox X-Men franchise.

Blue Marvel is a Superman that's Black in order to deal with racial issues to a hero, Spider-Man is a teen coming of age while having to be an adult even when he doesn't want to, Black Panther and Wakanda is an Afruika that wasn't colonized but instead allowed to grow on its own without outside influence, etc

The one thing above all others that I took away from this movie, is that Charles is an arrogant, hubristic, holier-than-thou, self-entitled ass. If the world doesn't agree with his ideals, it's the world that must be wrong, and he is entitled to interfere with anyone else's life in any manner so that he gets his way in the end. I really don't like him. Eric did not turn against Charles at the beach, he was protecting him and the others. If not for Eric, Charles would have DIED, and all his 'be the better man' would account for NOTHING. This is how they should have phrased that scene: Charles: "The men on those ships are just following orders!" Eric: "No. The men on those ships, who have free will, are CHOOSING to follow MURDEROUS, GENOCIDAL orders, for no other reason than they cannot accept the truth. Tell me Charles, if war was declared, but everyone chose not to fight, what would we have to fear then? They have chosen the path of death. Who am I to deny them their choice?" Aaannnnnnnnd that is why comics are fiction. As soon as you try to inject reality into them, the entertainment falls apart. The reason Charles is so hung up that he is right about peace being the only option, is because he's a telepath. He can force people to think or believe what he wants (mostly). After all, if he didn't want Shaw to die, well, Charles was controlling him, he could have had Shaw move out of the way of the coin, or blast himself out of the room, or SOMETHING. Eric killed Shaw, and Charles helped him. Then had the nerve to say 'don't kill these soldiers who are also trying to kill us.' Hypocrite.
Marvel is DEFINITELY better than DC. There is a large amount of stupid and kiddish and non sensical stuff in DC comics, way more then in marvel comics. Alot of DC stuff breaks it's own continuity unintentionally, and undeniably of marvel and dcs tenure for shows and movies, marvel has made better stuff overall

Marvel is DEFINITELY better than DC. There is a large amount of stupid and kiddish and non sensical stuff in DC comics, way more then in marvel comics. Alot of DC stuff breaks it's own continuity unintentionally, and undeniably of marvel and dcs tenure for shows and movies, marvel has made better stuff overall
