As another YT reaction channel stated, " I'd listen to Floor sing the phone book! " I second that! At 64 years old, I have listen to music from the 1930's until today! Floor is just an incredible vocalist....best I have ever heard. The only one that I can think of that gave me goose bumps every time I heard her sing was, Karen Carpenter! But Floor...wow...just wow! Oh....I would recommend " Dead Boy's Poem " Live in Buenos Aries, 2018. Also "Sleeping Sun" there are two live versions with her singing this song...both are excellent! First group Floor was After Forever, where she began singing at the age of 16, After Forever was a Dutch symphonic metal band with strong progressive metal influences.The band relied on the use of both soprano vocals and death growls, in this group she wrote songs, in this group she used her soprano voice a lot, in songs she mixed soprano vocals with Eastern melismas and other styles. Floor had a second group, ReVamp, this group created Floor, wrote songs, she did almost everything to the smallest detail herself in this group, in this ReVamp group, she could go over deep growling to full opera singing.
Jacqueline you discribed better than i can do Floor's amazing technical abbility's. But that alone wont do the trick.. Not even so long ago she was diagnosed being an empath and she discribed it as a curse but also as a main reason why she can 'feel' the songs so deeply and tell the story with so much feeling and understanding evoking all that emotion at the end of the receiver. It happened to me just a half houer ago. In her fansfriday she answered one of my questions. I broke and needed tears that where blocked so long inside me because ongoing troubles streamed like an ocean on my cheeks. Such a relive. JVB - You might want to check ALL of Floor's performances from Beste Zangers, if you think THIS performance shows her chameleon side...she did 8 performances in total (2 were duets, including reprising "Shallow" as a duet with one of the other male singers), in multiple languages, and multiple music styles. Her last duet, the final performance of the final show of the season, with Henk Poort (the older gentleman watching this performance) singing, "The Phantom of the Opera", nearly broke the internet when it hit the airwaves. When she was a kid, Floor saw Henk perform as the Phantom in the dutch production (btw, Andrew Loyd Webber once said in an interview that Henk was his favorite Phantom), and she idolized him growing up...when she found out he was also doing this season, she immediately asked him to do the duet. He said, on one condition...that they do it together with Nightwish the next time NW gets to the Netherlands...Floor immediately said YESSSSSS! Floor blew the other singers away every episode. Only one of them had ever seen her perform before, or really even knew who she was, likely thinking only that she was some "metal singer", (metal is not popular in Floor's home country of the Netherlands), and probably expected her to be a metal screamer/growler, so her insane abiltities blew them away. The first show she did an operetta (for Henk), and the stunned looks on their faces is priceless! During and after this show, Floor's popularity in her home country skyrocketed because of her amazing abilities (well overdue, and well deserved! ). You might check out jenniezelf's YT channel, she did us the great service of translating the before and after discussions into english subtitles of some of Floor's perfromances...you get more of a feel for the songs, why the writer wrote them, what they mean to them, etc. You also get to see just what a sweetheart, and how down to earth Floor really is through those discussions. True artists make covers in theyr oun version; an example is the song Adagio by Lara Fabian witch was covered by Dimash and Floor , and all 3 versions are osome but very diffrent.

It's almost like you spend a bit of time in Northern Michigan (~_^) There is a nice cover by After Forever (with help from Arjen Lucassen and Damien Wilson) of Queen's Who Wants To Live Forever (just fan made vids I think) and about everything from Beste Zanger's that season was very, very, good (not just all of Floor's, but the others as well). Floor also has a bunch of rockers on her Northward project done with Jørn Viggo Lofstad of Pagan's Mind. iirc the songs were mostly or all written in 2007-2008 and then got sidelined by Floor's busyness and then Burnout, then getting better but joining Nightwish, but in 2017 when NW went on a sabbatical, and she wasn't touring (or recording for Arjen, or having Freja) they got it recorded.

JVB - You might want to check ALL of Floor's performances from Beste Zangers, if you think THIS performance shows her chameleon side...she did 8 performances in total (2 were duets, including reprising "Shallow" as a duet with one of the other male singers), in multiple languages, and multiple music styles. Her last duet, the final performance of the final show of the season, with Henk Poort (the older gentleman watching this performance) singing, "The Phantom of the Opera", nearly broke the internet when it hit the airwaves. When she was a kid, Floor saw Henk perform as the Phantom in the dutch production (btw, Andrew Loyd Webber once said in an interview that Henk was his favorite Phantom), and she idolized him growing up...when she found out he was also doing this season, she immediately asked him to do the duet. He said, on one condition...that they do it together with Nightwish the next time NW gets to the Netherlands...Floor immediately said YESSSSSS!
Floor blew the other singers away every episode. Only one of them had ever seen her perform before, or really even knew who she was, likely thinking only that she was some "metal singer", (metal is not popular in Floor's home country of the Netherlands), and probably expected her to be a metal screamer/growler, so her insane abiltities blew them away. The first show she did an operetta (for Henk), and the stunned looks on their faces is priceless! During and after this show, Floor's popularity in her home country skyrocketed because of her amazing abilities (well overdue, and well deserved! ).
You might check out jenniezelf's YT channel, she did us the great service of translating the before and after discussions into english subtitles of some of Floor's perfromances...you get more of a feel for the songs, why the writer wrote them, what they mean to them, etc. You also get to see just what a sweetheart, and how down to earth Floor really is through those discussions. Even if you do it on your own, not as a reaction, the before/after discussions are well worth the time, IMO.

The young lady that Floor is singing to is Emma Heesters. Her songs from Beste Zangers are wonderful. She's a talented entertainer and highly-skilled singer. She did a duet of "Vivo Per Lei" with Henk Port; it's a gorgeous song. She also made Floor cry when she sang Floor's "Strong" to her.

There is a nice cover by After Forever (with help from Arjen Lucassen and Damien Wilson) of Queen's Who Wants To Live Forever (just fan made vids I think) and about everything from Beste Zanger's that season was very, very, good (not just all of Floor's, but the others as well). Floor also has a bunch of rockers on her Northward project done with Jørn Viggo Lofstad of Pagan's Mind. iirc the songs were mostly or all written in 2007-2008 and then got sidelined by Floor's busyness and then Burnout, then getting better but joining Nightwish, but in 2017 when NW went on a sabbatical, and she wasn't touring (or recording for Arjen, or having Freja) they got it recorded.
Please do Phantom from the same show! Then How's the Heart (acoustic) if you want to hear pure stripped down Floor......
