I ended up buying the new cat 306CR because it fit into more of my work. It is basically the same machine as the 308 just a little more compact. I have videos up of that machine running as well.
In your opinion, would the 310 be big enough to take down single story homes up to say 1500 sq. ft.? I was thinking about getting something in 320 range, but would rather have the smaller unit if possible ( to be able to do smaller, tighter jobs and such without having to get 2 machines). I wouldn't need to demo homes in less than an hour, but I would like to get jobs done in less than 2-3 days or so. The 310 seems like the most versatile machine imo, but I'd like to hear some thoughts of others please.
TrailTrackers you shouldn’t have a problem in taking down the house just removing the slab might be an little time consuming as a 10ton machine wouldnt rip it out, would have to be hammered up first
@@joshuatowner4315 : Thanks for the reply. Where I live 90% of homes are built with full basements, so I figure unless I got something super large, the foundation walls would have to be hammered anyway. Since I already own a 287B with a hammer I should be set there I would think; been tearing out flat work for years.
TrailTrackers no worries, yeah an excavator like that would be perfect, would probably be easier to eventually get a hammer on it instead of the skid steer I would for sure get a thumb put on and away you go
Sweet. Cat is nailing down the mini excavator category.
I’m going to demo a 308 next week. Can’t wait I’ll be be putting a video up for sure. Looking forward to Thursday!

Nice Caterpillar
Wish the 309 high flow was fixed boom. Just an extra wear point when forestry mulching.

We tear down a lot of houses with a 420E backhoe with a thumb and it gets it done. I would imagine a 310 would be plenty machine for that as well
Come this excavator to Germany ?
I’d like to see a in depth overview of the cat 309
Thanks for the feedback, @Dirtman707. We’ll let the team know there is interest in a video specific to the 309.
Me too!!
So do you still have the E2 series of mini excavators
These will replace the E2s, but they aren't out yet.
They were a big disappointment I’ve been holding on to my 2014 E waiting for cat to make something better
So how about the 305.5? When will they change?
Hi Trevor. The Next Gen machines coming to the market in North America in 2019 are the 1-2 ton and 7-10 ton machines.
When we will see the 305 next Generation? :-)

@@catconstructiontrade sure like your new features but the 305.5 definitely needs a update
They're probably holding off because the 305s are so popular.

Hi Adrian! The Next Generation Cat Mini Excavators will be available in the UK early in 2019. Check with your local Cat dealer to place orders.
