Wow this is amazing. They not just improved the machine to a whole new level but they also implemented those little details that makes a big difference if you operate one of those daily. Absolutely impressed! CAT really proved why they are leader in this market. Now I only need to persuade my boss to replace our 299 😅
Thanks for the review. I’d like to see under the cab and belly pan placement. As someone that forestry mulches, cleaning under the cabin is a must and is not exactly easy on my 299. Would love to see a review on that!
The cast steel bosses for the bucket cylinders look very cool. I know the engineers that worked on the joystick controls - looks like those turned out great too!
Would like to see 135 horsey in action fully loaded and with cooler.. But yet, it'd be nice if it didn't need the big cooler and was already designed with one eternally. I own and run dedicated mulchers and ASVs. I would like to see what The loaded for sale model will do..
I spent a lot of time in the 299 D3 cab one of my biggest complaints with the inside of the cab was that you cannot see the monitor screen when it's real bright and sunny out the screen just did not get bright enough so half the time I was backing up blind the other was the way that the door attached in the front of that thing does lovers win stay up in the door would fall off as you're going down the road constantly
I have first one ordered in my region. My salesman told me sometime next summer he anticipated. I have two 299d3 currently. The biggest complaint I’ve had for years on 299 is lift height.
@domforte2966 Agreed. Roll up doors don't allow for any gauges/switches/controls to be mounted on the pillars and they tend to rattle more and don't seal as well. Especially after quite a bit of use. Swing out doors are far from perfect but definitely seal better and for longer. The side door on the JCB and older Volvo's (rebranded JCB) are very nice but their over all reliability, the single flange front roller that makes them vibrate when travelling with a load and are very prone to de-tracking ruled them out for me. No machine is perfect and a door shouldn't make or break the decision to buy a particular machine unless Everything else is exactly the same (which it won't be) in my opinion.
YES like the JCB design with the telescope boom extension 😊 plus Volvo doing the same thing. I like how Cat makes the door removable. Especially when you are working in really muddy or just front window getting covered that you have to clean and possibly scratches 😊 I ran Bobcat with a sweeping attachment Pushing SAND to the street off the sidewalk to the street sweeper after we had big snow events. I got real dirty but I hated the front window closed. That's just me, It will be interesting to see it in a working environment. Real time work by buyers, then feedback on this machine
@@domforte2966 I don't like running a skid steer or anything for that matter when doing precision work and you have to look through the glass. No reason to do that if you don't want to. Now that it's quickly removable, that's a lot better. But I still would prefer a roll up door.
I bet they come out with a 295 Model, maybe a little bigger than the minotaur. Probably a little bit bigger. Actually it would be great if they came out with a machine about the same size as the old 943. And possibly make it with a selective track system, steel or rubber.
What I see is a lot of places to collect mud and longer to clean . I’d rather keep our John Deere as it is easy to clean and streamlined . I want to see this big guy get in the machine and sit.
we want a side door CAT, 375 hp, and a way way way better ride. we don't want to feel the bumps for the kind of money you want for this. plus we ain't no skinny Minnies running these. we need big boy space. we are big boys. we can't climb out of jack. we want better.
Hi, Folks. OHHHH???????????? So they are no longer producing the Cat 299 CTL???????????????????????? FACT CHECK, PLEASE???????????????????? Just my 0.02. You all have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
Cat always had a front entry. Not sure why you are explaining this as new it isn't. Maybe your new to CAT skidsteers! Couldn't watch anymore of the video. Do better CAT!!!

The best thing about the cat machine they built their machine around operator comfort
These next gen skid steers are very comfortable like everything else
That easy remove door is a great idea. The previous removal is such a pain in the ass I just leave it off.
4:06 - 4:08 “ It’s a Big Heavy Strong Door”. My favorite part of the video……

Interesting walkaround.
All the equipment are helpful to the peoples round the world

I can’t wait for next year this time, I might be able to afford a good used one.
I work for a CAT dealership and I can say the new cabs are very comfortable in the 255s and 265s. Not sure when theyll be sending these out .
I have first one ordered in my region. My salesman told me sometime next summer he anticipated. I have two 299d3 currently. The biggest complaint I’ve had for years on 299 is lift height.
I have almost 200 hours on our 265. They are absolutely great.
I work at a dealership too, they are extremely comfy BUT the front cab corner pillars are big ole blind spots in my opinion
Just needs a door like the Takeuchi and steel tracks like the case.
Wish they would have a roll up door. I hate the door set up.
Does komatsu make a CTL?
@@SteveOnStarCK35-1 they are relatively small compared to others...
Screw a roll up poverty door ! Absolute rattle litter
Does the engine still need to be removed in order to service/replace the dpf
I just went through that situation bloody ridiculous
He needs to get in it
When will they bring us the 295?
did you fix the non adjustable armrests when your getting bounced around your going to need shoulder repacemnet in a few years... things hurt
What is that attachment to hold those big reels?
I wanna try one
And it still has a swing out door
roll up doors are shitty too. and why would you wanna get out with the bucket up

@@scottmcquarrie7295 skids are definitely meant for bull work in smaller places. Idk how people do anything precise with them.
How about Dozer capability with a 6 way blade ?
Also just seeing him sit in there, they have a lot less space than competitors like the Kubota
Trevor is a big guy.
Doesn't make sense to have a 299 model that is smaller than a 285.
I agree
the 299 is going away and being replaced with a 275 which is the same-ish size as the 299
@olsno26 ah ok

@@scottmcquarrie7295 thats why the nomenclature has been set up the way it is
What about a steel track option?
How much does it weigh? And how much can it lift?? How much does it cost?
Competing against the case minotaur
Not really, considering it weighs 5000lbs less
Can it pick up the guy talking?
I mean could someone loan the guy a flash light
Thought the 299 was the biggest in the caterpillar line.
And then put the thing back on by yourself is nearly impossible I hated the door on that thing
Still has a dumb door, not sure why
@@DC78539 you really prefer a swing out door over a roll up one like the Takeuchi or kubota?

He could have been in but didn’t show how he got in
Not bad the cab is still too small for bigger people
or ar big people just to fat ? The height is not the problem.
Thank you!
6'2 290 and ran a 279 just fine lmfao the fuck. 265 is going to be nice. What you trying to do in that cab big dog? shiiit.

Get rid of the DEF
Have to have DEF above 75hp. The 255 and 265 don't need DEF.
The rear door is a joke. Not beefed up enough
If you are not backing into anything, it doesn’t need to be beefed up.
"Do the work" who is this, Kamala Harris???
Skeptical. Not a fan of Cat CTLs.

Everybody but JCB has a front entry.
Junk
i thought the 299 was the largest
