Deputy reads "Until deputy of detention leaves the battlefield". So if it dies before the trigger resolves, the card never ends up leaving the battlefield. It is, indeed, quite weird
The deputy dies first and then the trigger resolves, but with the deputy not on the battlefield the balista does not get exiled because the deputy reads “until this leaves the battlefield”
Great stuff as always, I truly love the vibe of very competitive decks being played properly but with a laid back attitude like your just hanging with friends. I also really like how you guys frame and display cards in hand as well as the "Cannot be cast" and sometimes "Relevant Cards in Graveyard." On this video, there seemed to be a mistake. In the last game, when Thoralf "Shot the image naming oblivion stone" that wasn't the right creature. One of the real Meddling mages had named O-Stone, which would have taken another ping. I only mention this because I was yellin at the screan for Eli to grab the Oblivion Stone with Kitesail Freebooter just to make it even harder to cast. Even though yes he could have contortioned the Kitesail and then still pinged the O-Stone meddling mage, it would use up enough of Thoralfs mana to buy Eli one more turn. I still loved the game and I love both these decks. Good stuff guys!
This is my Darksteel Tron deck. It’s very reliable! The goal is to tutor worldslayer out and use it to blow up the board every turn.
