This may be off topic. But I suffer from anxiety and depression. I love your restoration videos, they really do relax me and gives me an appreciation for the small things in life. Your videos are very helpful for relaxing me as well as being fun and light hearted content. What I'm saying is thank you very much... Your a legend.! Love and respect! 🤗
Sorry to say but "anxiety" is just what happens when truth is near. Instead or running to your usual escapes, sit still and quite and let the truth catch up. True peace and joy. Yes the truth hurts but it's worth it. Good luck
It makes a big difference, having down to earth blokes engaging in a little innocent and constructive fun. Thank You for your time, the fun you have and that you give us. Bonza Marty!
Nice restoration of a model that kept throwing hurdles in your path. Your persistence, ingenuity, and continued good cheer paid off. You really should have painted it Bullitt-green, though.
Marty, you are truly a gem!! I am addicted to these little restorations and have searched for and watched other makeovers. None are on your caliber! You are truly a perfectionist and your end product proves that! I LOVE watching your transformations!
You poor poor man. Was that why the expression ‘you suk’ was used to display your frustration? However, it all came out alright in the end? Well done Marty.
Hi Marty, I dont know if you still look at old videos comments, but after watching your videos for a little while, I have decided to start customizing and restoring some old cars myself, teaching myself from your videos alone. Thank you for inspiring me😁😁😁
I love your show! I get up early in the morning and enjoy watching your show because it's very relaxing before a hectic day at work. You truly are the Bob Ross of the Matchbox car painting world! Thanks, and keep up the good work!
Really loved this one, my grandpa restored a 64-1/2 convertible and the Mustang will always have a place in my heart. Good on ya for bring this car back to glory (by the way, it appears to be a 65-66 as most people choose to ignore the 64-1/2 designation when making these cars into models) keep it easy and have a wonderful day
Another excellent restore job! I think I'd be introducing Kevin to the barby. Do Koalas taste of eucalyptus? Evergreen Styrene sheet is very useful stuff. I keep a variety on hand for my model work. 👍😎
Excellent work...! When my brother turned sixteen years old, he convinced my parents to purchase him an old beat up 66 fastback Mustang in the same off-white color. He worked on that car for two decades and raced it at many local tracks. I’ve been looking for this casting for him...someday.
Hi Marty. Hello from Germany. Early afternoon over here, and i just enjoyed your new makeover. Good work! So much problems, but you made it and brought this 53year old Mustang back to life. Nice idea to keep the painting details more to the original. Imo it saves the charme and attraction of these old toys. You used plastic glue from Revell, a german company. They produce plastic scale model-kits. In my childhood days, middle of the 70's, i made a lot of them. Revell, Airfix and at least Matchbox. Thank you for another fantastic video. Keep up your good work.
Thank you for sharing the journey with all the bumps in the road. I so understand the frustration, but you got there in the end and the result is grand! Ace show mr! Thank you, cheers!
I had this Mustang as a kid and it was one of my favorites. I can understand having to strip and repaint a model as I have done this more than once and it is never fun. You really did an excellent job of the restoration and you saved the model after the paint melted the suspension tab. Great sheet plastic work too! Thanks for sharing this.
Always enjoy your videos, Marty. As a Mustang guy, I thank you for sharing this restoration with us. It just so happens that it's a nice birthday gift to me. Cheers!
Another stunning result Marty. You encountered just about every obstacle known to man and yet you pulled off a perfect restoration. Most impressive and I love the humour at the end.
Spectacular restoration to kickstart my morning. Had to get up at 5:00 a.m. to head to a rugby match 3 hours away so this was much needed. Keep up the good work, Marty.
A great restoration Marty. I’m just about to do the same one. Same kind of condition. Covered in red and blue paint. I find that caustic soda cleans paint from plastic parts really well, without any damage to plastic parts. Love your restorations. Keep em coming. Cheers.
Great work Marty! Yes, it took longer than expected, but the final result looks just like the one I've had for over 35 years, that's in very good condition. It was part of my grandmother's Christmas decorations and by the time I got it, it wasn't a toy to me, but a keepsake. In fact, you've restored quite a few of the Matchbox cars I got from Grandma; the Lomas Ambulance, the Greyhound bus, the Denver fire truck, and at least 11 other models. The Lomas Ambulance restoration was the first video of yours that I saw, and I was hooked.
Thats my No 1 Top Matchbox of all. I had one when I was a kid, and when I started to collect, this was the first I purchased. Lovely resto from you. :)
I enjoy watching you try different techniques. I very much enjoy watching the failures, not that I wish ill upon you, so we can learn form them and see how you overcome the problems. If never tried anything new and everything worked perfectly the first time, the videos would eventually become boring.
Great video on a straight restoration. Problems occurred that others may face and Marty solves them quite well! Now about that damn Koala! Don't forget to see how Rob from Matchbox Garage does his 8e Mustang!!!😀
Hi Marty! Nice job & great video as usual 🤩 and Kevin strikes back! 😂😆😅 Thanks a lot for the good time, cheers and best regards for you & your family! 😉👍
I know you hit quite a few snags with this resto, but you brought back such childhood memories. This was one of my favorite toy cars as a child (the other was a HW red spectraflame '67 Camaro). I had this exact model, the white w/ red interior. Your ingenuity over adversity really shown thru in this build. It's amazing how a child can paint over the whole car twice, once with red, then yellow enamel paint & nothing happens. But you try to restore the car & the paint shrivels up the suspension piece. I guess the innocence of child creativity can suspend such things as chemical reactions and the laws of thermodynamics. lol. Enjoy your videos, as always Marty. Keep up the fun!
l remember baremetalHW customized one of these and he said that this is the only one with such mechanism as lesney steered into autosteering pretty soon.
Marty, Great save on the suspension with the plastic. I think it’s better than new too! Also, a heat gun is a little safer than a torch if you’re trying to bend or straighten plastic. I use one for fixing warped walls when I’m building structures.
Looks great Marty ! The steering thing that pops out the side of the car would’ve had a circular end on it the same as the circle on the bottom of the piece
Beautiful resto marty!. I saw another fellow do a custom job with different wheels and painted in the rear tail lights as well. It was another cool mustang custom done nice and not over the top. He mentioned you too. A fellow from matchbox garage if I remember right. Love your vids Marty!
The car actually has some very nice detail to it which couldn't be seen by the red paint that was on it. The stripping, wire wheeling and the primer brought out some fairly crisp features.
Thanks Marty.. I had this model when I was a kid.. White, with red interior.. The little lever on the side of mine was broken, so had to make do with the underneath slider.. A bully at school stole it from me 😔 I knew he had it.. But I never saw it again 😢
modelling companies like AMT and Revell still use vacuum metalizing for their chrome trees. once you've got the machine, it's a cheap process to add chrome to plastic.
@@kruleworld I'm sorry if you took my question the wrong way. It's just the way things move so fast now days, I really never knew about that process. Thanks for for your reply.
Very good job! I had one of these Mustangs in 1967 - my Grandma gave it to me as a small gift when she visited us....so long ago... Congratulations to your good taste in music (shirt) 23:11 - Fleetwood Mac will always be TOP! Bought this album in 1978 and it is still in my collection - in excellent condition. All the best and greetings from Germany!
The classic ford mustang, my teen dream car. There are other casting in that series that had steering. Well today's video was full of lessons on primer and adverse chemical reactions. That went from sh#* to shiny , nice recovery after all the mishaps. Thanks for sharing Mike from Texas, Take Memories, Leave Footprints
Mostly I find Kevin's antics quite amusing, but the mindless vandalism grated today. Other then that, great video. Love the results you get. Keep it up!
Great work Marty, despite the frustrations and set backs, your inventive ideas created an improvement to the original. Finding solutions to problems is the exciting part of doing any kind of creative hobby. I'm sure you were "Happy with that". Now you will have to find a creative solution for Kevin.
I discovered your channel a faew weeks ago and have binged watched all of your content your so talented and funny ive ebjoyed watching enormously thank you for the uploads. 😸
Top job after all the shenanigans Marty! It would seem to be the week for challenging projects this week, a number of other restorers have had cars fight them all the way over the last week as well so you're in good company.
Hi Marty, another bloody fantastic job keep up the great work and don't worry about the acting, the Matchbox models you refurbish make for the acting. I am working a model in 1/76 scale Christchurch Transport Board (New Zealand) AEC Reliance bus model so do understand how at sometimes frustrating model building can be .

Being there, know exactly what you mean.Had my mom in the hospital to treat her cancer and Marty's videos served me well those long hard hours.
Same here. These videos are so good for grounding. Good old Marty - a legend!
I agree 100%. I always hang out for Marty's videos.

The newspaper headlines are a favorite part of mine. Thanks.
Fantastic restoration. Well done and keeping an old vehicle alive!
What a 'Classy' rebuilt of a classic Ford Mustang. Truly a work of art!!! Great job Marty!
To watch to build an amazing car then to watch your little comic bits is such a joy. Thank you Marty.
I dont know how you resisted painting it red or giving it blue stripes. Marty, you're a man of integrity!
Boy Marty, Kevin is really getting out of hand! Loved the video. Nice recovery on the suspension bar. Rattle cans do strange things to plastic.
Marty, you are truly a gem!! I am addicted to these little restorations and have searched for and watched other makeovers. None are on your caliber! You are truly a perfectionist and your end product proves that! I LOVE watching your transformations!
I would love an uncensored Marty’s Makeover episode.
Great idea!

I can remember when they first came out on the market. A very nice rebuild. Great save. Always good to watch the videos. Thanks.

It's not boring at all Marty. Awesome.
Another great video, thanks. Good save on the suspension unit
its nice that you care enough about them to re do the paint instead of just letting it go.
Another stunning result Marty. You encountered just about every obstacle known to man and yet you pulled off a perfect restoration. Most impressive and I love the humour at the end.
Really love this casting. One of my favorite MB castings because of the steering...and ky 1st car was a 65 Mustang.
Marty just saved Saturday!
Lol the headline on the news paper, nice clean work on that casting 🔥🤘🏻

Love it. I hope you feel better soon and thanks for sharing.
Your videos are very relaxing. A Joy to watch
First time I've left a comment on one of your vids, but I never get tired of your stuff. Keep up the great work!

An excellent job on the restoration of the matchbox diecast Mustang and also a fabulous presentation with your video m8👍

Nice to see Kevin back to his old tricks. Glad your feeling better this episode. Great job on the restoration and video.
Very nice vid. Love the problem solving.
Turned out nice, great job fixing the suspension and steering and the outtakes had me laughing 😂
Thanks Marty for giving us this new video of yours.
Great restoration again this time.
You are always the best.
Despite that last comment from your cameraman, that was one fine double-take Marty!

I don't agree it's a bored casting, personally I think is one of the best Matchbox little cars. Excellent job, as always 👍
Awesome restoration Marty !!!!!!!!!!
Marty, Great save on the suspension with the plastic. I think it’s better than new too! Also, a heat gun is a little safer than a torch if you’re trying to bend or straighten plastic. I use one for fixing warped walls when I’m building structures.
Its all I can do to NOT go straight to the last minutes of your videos...lol. Funny! And yet another nice makeover!
Just received my crane and it's beautiful!!!! The box was an awesome touch!! Thank you Marty!!
Looks great Marty ! The steering thing that pops out the side of the car would’ve had a circular end on it the same as the circle on the bottom of the piece
Nice work. Thanks Marty.👍🏼🤘🏼😎
Beautiful model! Well worth the effort put into it! By far my favorite you've done so far. Those wheels are amazing! Nice work Marty.

The plastic wheels are chrome plated via a process called "vacuum metallization". it was all the rage until they invented spangly metallic plastics.
put the plastic in a vacuum chamber flash vaporize the metal with a huge current surge and the vaporous metal coats everything int he chamber
modelling companies like AMT and Revell still use vacuum metalizing for their chrome trees. once you've got the machine, it's a cheap process to add chrome to plastic.

Beautiful model my friend. I would love to see another one just customized.
Great video, Marty! Very funny ending!

Extremely beautiful result. Congrats man

Excellent job- especially the suspension improvisation.
Are you talking about the mustang or the young lady on the cover of The Daily Star?
I love your videos! This Mustang was originally white, although there were red ones produced.
