This is all j-hope! He literally and figuratively jumped out of the box and showed how capable and multi talented he is. He makes his own music. He did his album alone without collaboration. People already suggested for you to watch j-hope in the box documentary you will see he is the one who made it with help from clams casino and producers who understood what he wanted but he wrote the lyrics, he is the record engineer, rap and vocal arranger. Please do not believe what his jealous haters will say. This is his own talent.

Army was shocked by this the first song off his solo album Jack in the Box. It is definitely a different side of him. Jhope was nervous too because he knew this was a step in a totally different direction than he had put out before. The two sides were perfectly presented at Lollapalooza. You really need to watch it. So interesting to break this one down. There is a lot going on in it. Did you hear that V makes a cameo in the "frozen" office scene? Jhope is definitely a fashionista and is the global ambassador for Louis Vuitton!

Can you expound what you mean by "learning from SUGA and RM"? He definitely gets inspiration while living in their rap den but Hobi learned on his own too and from his teacher Yankie ( who also taught SUGA) , his style is unique and even journalist Randy Suh said " "j-hope doesn’t really owe the Korean hip hop scene much because it isn’t where he got his start. He has since said with confidence that his musical roots are the 1980s and ’90s hip hop that he grew up dancing to" :)

    • @dotoheevillager
      @dotoheevillager 8 месяцев назад +2

Sorry, but he did not "learn from" SUGA and RM. The ability to write lyrics is not something you simply pass down like a mathematical equation. He asked Yoongi, Namjoon, Supreme Boi, and other rappers who were trainees in Big Hit's dorm questions, but they did not "teach" him. As his lyrics on "MORE" clearly said, he "self-learned" by studying on his own, asking questions, and consistently practicing.

    • @tomshoney1114
      @tomshoney1114 8 месяцев назад +3

@@dotoheevillager Our sweet, gentle, humble Hobi has always given credit where credit is due. He has always said he learned from Suga and RM. You can watch Suchwita episode 12 (Jin was guest, Hobi stopped by), if you'd like, you can go directly to 25.47 (time stamp). The conversation went:
Suga: What I find so fascinating about BTS is that none of us had ever sang before...but we got together and formed a team. That's how we started off
      J-Hope: Yeah, that's so true
Suga: The vocal line started off with people who never sang or performed on stage before
J-Hope: Right, right. It's the same for me
      Suga: You rapped
J-Hope: I learned that from you and Namjoon after I got in
Suga: You learned from the two of us
      J-Hope: Right
Of course, while J-Hope "learned" from Suga and RM, that was just at the start and he did not copy their style. He developed his own style. And for sure, his dance background influenced his flow, his cadence, his delivery, etc. And when the rapline perform together, you can really distinguish one from the other. They are so different from each other 💜

J-Hope he is one of the most unique artists in k-pop, he has contributed to several iconic BTS songs (he has a very good sense of good melodies), his lyrics are full of multi-layered Korean meanings and are full of literary references. He is also a stage monster. It is said that many people who attend a BTS concert leave as the new biased J-Hope.

Yeah, for goodness sakes, don't miss Hobi. He started as a dancer and developed into an incredible artist and rapper. Also I think BTS had stylists for many of their appearances. But I agree, some of the early J-hope fits were kinda awkward. His more recent solo stuff is all planned, prroduced and managed by him down the the very last detail. Jhope is so diverse.
And he definitely has a unique duality.
And I think he likes to suprise us.
His writing is quite often some of the hardest among the entire group to figure out what his exact meaning is, with in his lyrics, etc...
At least that is my personal opinion, and I know I am not alone in thinking this way.
Trust me it can be frustrating. He has such a creative side when it comes to story telling, metaphors, etc....
His writing abilities, in so many ways, are something I'm not sure I have ever seen before.
With his writing he will make you have to stop to figure out even just the context that surrounds what he is saying, or you may not have any idea what the real meaning is.
It is rather hard to explain. But jhope will not only make you have to look deeper to figure out the true meaning, but he also often leads you to contemplating many different ideas, beliefs, reality or lack there of, even after you have figured out the meaning behind the words. And than , again even after you have figured the meaning out, that in itself will sometimes provoke you to explore even deeper thoughts, and feelings, because of the profoundness of what he has said.
And honestly, sometimes I simply just have to take a guess and hope I am close.
I hope I am explaining this correctly.
I'm finding it hard at this moment, to come up with the right words to best explain some of this.
But anyways I'm sure you will discover lot of this types of things on your own.
So just hope you are enjoying your journey.

Yayyy... his whole album is so great "arson" is probably going to be the most recomended track for your next reaction but he also has a lot of cool stuff like "day dream" and "airplane" from his past mixtape "Hope World".
Other than that he has solo songs within BTS albums, "boy meets evil" and "outro:ego" are my favorites.
But every song from every member you react to, we're gonna love it.

Nathan, I really love how you break down a song into all the different elements! I also love seeing how fun it is for you! 😆 Do you think you could also do at least one complete watch with ALL the elements together before breaking it down, but only if it’s your first reaction? I love seeing your initial reaction to a BTS song! Either way, I really enjoy watching your reactions! 🤗 Thank you! P.S. I’m really looking forward to your next BTS cover! 🫶🏼💜

Another fun one- Yes "more" of J-Hope - or JK "Standing Next to You" break down like this would be awesome- Lots of fun with the bass and drums on that one... 💜

It may be less distracting to do one pass through on the MV/or song and then do the break down / analysis after. I know it would less disjointed for the person watching. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for your reaction.

Nate, loving this reaction style! Seeing you nerd out is great. But this song is pretty simple... J-hope's songs have mostly been known to be weird production wise. 😅 In a good way. Check out his song "Mama" for an example.

and ur spot on... he was always the sunshine ....but this album is dark... his rap is like 3 ppl rapping in the album ... i love ur reaction because u really spot on despite not familiar with their music... he wanted to go full oldskoll hip hop in this album ehehehe.. and i love this type of reaction video coz we get to enjoy the little things that ''normal' hearing will not be able to hear and capture.... it makes me appreciate their music more... the level of intricacies that goes thru when they make music... EARGASM !!!!

    This was produced by Brasstracks.
Since Suga also produces maybe you could react to some of the songs he produced? Any song off of his DDAY albums would work (maybe you could do the trilogy? Daechwita, Haegum and Amygdala.) the music videos are also top notch.
For a BTS track he produced you could try telepathy.

Thank you for reacting to j-hope's music, this is just the start of an amazing journey 😍 He is a lyrical genius and his rap flow is unique and memorable. He is also a singer and a dance prodigy which adds flavor to his rapping style. Just to clarify, SUGA has nothing to do with j-hope's solo discography, this is not his style. :) j-hope writes his own music for his mixtapes and his solo album and is very much involved in his own music. He has 138 KOMCA songs credited under his belt, many songs for BTS and he is one of the three Musical Pillars of BTS as what their founder Bang PD said in an interview.
He has been called Lyrical Jedi and Baby Face Lyrical Assasin by Western media. His Jack in the Box is the Top #9 Best Album of Rolling Stone of 2022 - the highest accolade for Korean Soloist. His 10 track ( all written by him) album, Jack in the Box, is critically acclaimed so I encourage you to listen to the other songs including Arson and Rock Arson version ( you will love to dissect it with your music tool!) I love that you break the music piece by piece/instrument/ vocals cuz you will really discover the many layers of his tracks. His adlibs are the coolest! Oh and check out in Arson you will hear a fire truck siren backwards - make sure to catch that!
For More, there are only two people who j-hope trusted to create this masterpiece with him. The talented Ivan Jackson Rosenberg and producer Brasstracks.
MORE” looks at his desire to succeed even more. A reconstruction of j-hope’s past, present and future.
Wait until you see him perform these with LIVE vocals at his Lollapalooza Headliner event last 2022! and yes, he is a King of Fashion :) He pulls anything really good without even trying hard😃

It's not just the drummer's face - the entire bands' faces are distorted
I believe this was done for the same reason that BTS' backup dancers in their live performances and dance practice videos almost always have masks on their faces: to ensure the BTS members stand out from the crowd

Thanks for the review of j-hope's solo music. You should definitely check out more of his solo music, he is the most verasitile musician and the most adventures, always ready to take new challenges and really be "out of the expected box". I can recommend Arson (rock version) and Equal Sign from his solo album Jack In The Box or Base Line and HANGSANG from his first mixtape Hope World, and of course his legendary Lollapalooza performance. And certainly his collaboration with J. Cole - on the street. And just to clarify - SUGA has nothing to do with j-hope's solo music. Jack In The Box (and MORE) is an album where Hobi put his soul and managed it by himslef (the process of its creation is recorded in the document j-hope IN THE BOX). It is his personal, honest message. In addition their solo music and style is significantly different.

I’m sorry. This is all uniquely j-hope. He is the most versatile and most adventurous with his music. He made his album see j-hope in the box and you will see his hard work. This is his own colour. Even his flows is diverse. Suga had nothing to do with his album! He did this without collabs.
