I guess for the western ear, it's so unusual to perform at this caliber without autotune😊. In the Philippines it's shameful to lipsync or use tuning. SB19 IS THE GOLD STANDARD of PPop aka PHILIPPINES pop. They create equalized rounded sound with only their voices. Adlibs on point, harmonies unmatched! 5 rappers, 5 singers, 5 dancers, 5 producers. They are the whole package.🇵🇭🌟❤️

Thank you for not calling them K-POP. Please refer to them as PPOP, which is VERY different from KPOP. PPOP’s standards are unique and different. For instance, you will never hear SB19 lip sync as doing so is frowned upon in the Philippines and plus it’s their goal to always improve and re-invent their style. We’ve heard these men sing live in concerts and shows, and this is exactly how they sound, it’s unbelievable. Thank you for being open to getting to know PPOP. It is different, and that’s the way we like it!

They don't lip sync and auto tune is a no no, especially this is the first take, even if other artists mess up they only just get one take. That is why it's only an invite only. SB19 are live vocal monsters. 💙 Btw, they have another The First Take video out singing a mellow song that just recently had over 100M views on RUclips, MAPA.

The ERA of artists using AUTO TUNE and LIP SYNC as a "STANDARD " on LIVE performances during our generation was long gone !
SB 19 our PPop Kings - performance was a breath of fresh air in the music scene dominated by Auto- Tune and Lip Sync .Their raw vocals and authentic sound showcased their talent and creativity as an artist! and that is what we greatly enjoy all the concerts we attended . That is the NEW standard now! No auto correct ! No LIP SYNC ! Not deceiving their audience - you enjoy the authenticity of their craft . This is Filipino music! Thats PPop !

Here in the Philippines, a singer can be booed if lip syncing. So many people can sing well so auto tune and lip syncing is frowned upon. We know if they sing live or not
Sb19 is not your typical boygroup, stell the main vocal can hit ALL BY MYSELF. also They are very versatile can sing different genre.
Their solo songs also do well.
Thanks for taking back what you said before, you remind me of those people who doubted SB19 when they are still starting because what SB19 is doing is so new they couldn't comprehend their style, their so used to the old standard of what is "good" there's no use of comparing them to others because they dont follow "the norm" in fact they want to break the norm and introduce new and better style, all of your doubts will be gone once you watched more of their performances so i suggest to just enjoy their performance rather than look for every single mistake they could make 🍢🍢🍢💙💙💙

This is The First Take, a popular Japanese YT show where artists are invited (strictly by invitation only) to perform their songs with new arrangements special for TFT. No auto tunes, mixings, just raw vocals all in one take. So if the artist flubs, that’s it. No do overs. TFT is like the cool, exclusive club where everybody wants to get in but only the best gets invited. So yes, this is a big deal for SB19 being the first and only Ppop boy band to perform here. Pls catch their 2nd song MAPA. I think you’ll like it too.

Just to remind you as a fan of SB29, u do not need to capitalize letters to make a point because it is a form of disrespectful. It is another form of shouting. Let us just enjoy the music and I understand where he is coming from as a musician himself and being in the industry for quite so long. It is understandable to have doubts.

Nah you just afraid to the truth. This live is not 100% live. It has go through post production to make their vocal cleaner. It is what it is. But sure they are not lip sync in this vid & they have beautiful vocals

I think you have to first read about the concept of THE FIRST TAKE. It's a challenge. Artists can only do one take of a song, they have to sing live without any backing track - just their raw voices. And they publish the output of the one and only take on their youtube channel without any further editing or mixing, even if there were parts that did not go well. It's the branding of the channel.

:) SB19 aren't called LIVE MONSTERS for no reason. haha! These boys serve raw vocals during live performances. Some fans even call them "human blenders" coz harmonizing has become natural for them (after years of training and practice of course). Whenever SB19 perform, we can't help but mutter to ourselves, "Auto-Tune who?" haha! Loud backtracks and lip synching are recipes for the artists' careers' downfall. PPOP groups are serving raw vocals and they just keep getting better. :) thank you so much for this RV. :) And I'm one of the many who highly recommend that you check them out performing MAPA on the First Take. :) thanks again! have a good one! :D

Pablo is actually the main rapper and the leader of SB 19. All for them can actually rap, sing, and dance that is why they are unique.

Autotune is a NO GO for artists in the Philippines. It's severly frowned upon and you'll get BASHED if the Filos catch you using autotune or even lipsyncing. Lipsyncing is a big NO too. Live vocals are a big thing here. Autotune is maybe, only accepted as a stylistic choice to compliment a track normally tracks leaning towards hiphop or rap. Honestly, artists here don't need the autotune, if you need it and you can't sing live you won't survive in the music indsutry in the Philippines.

I did not say that other countries do not have these kind of talented individuals. Won’t the world be a lot happier if the hidden gems in all parts of the world get discovered too? Please do an RV of the boys' 2nd song on First Take. It is a ballad (MAPA) with music that is stripped to focus on their vocals. First take was known for not putting autotune or backing track. The studio was made that way so that the vocals were emphasized. It was the same set up to all other singers who sang in there. Thanks for the review. Love from the Philippines.

You got to listen to their other First Take performance (❁´◡`❁) 'MAPA'. It's much slower in tempo and has an entire different vibe/energy. You'll be able to hear their vocal prowess, especially Pablo's and Stell's. There's another one from the Wish Bus, 'ILAW'.

Thank you for being understanding and for welcoming our fandom. I think one of the biggest proof of their live singing while dancing is when they performed in an event where it had technical issues. The music suddenly stopped but the boys continued to sing and dance at the same time. You can find the videos on yt if search "Sb19 acapella singing Gento due to technical difficulties" It was frustrating to watch because the issues happened several times but the boys still continued to sing. My friend who was there was also amazed 😊😊😊

It occurred to this exact same song "Gento" so you can make a direct comparison.
This really reveals the mic to backing track balance, showcased their real vocals with ZERO backing and reveals how much pickup their mics was set to.
The First Take removes all layering/backtracks, so you will often hear a simpler arrangement of songs performed there, and of course, you only have one take, no do-overs. That's why it's not just an honor to be invited, but you're expected to deliver the goods!

Also Pablo writes their songs, lyrics, composition & arrangements, like who will sing on this part etc. ofcourse the other members also gave inputs. Justin is the creative director for most of their mvs, they do their own adlibs that even surprises Pablo 😂.

Nathan, I think you were referring to Stell's enunciation of the words when he's singing? He does that very well. You should watch his All By Myself performance as well in Sir David Foster's concert. It was amazing.
It’s Justin. He does over enunciate ( not saying it’s good or bad. It’s just how he pronounces things). He does this with words even when he’s speaking, not just singing. It’s his thing and other reactors have noticed it too.
I love how you react to our boys, your honesty is more important. they said to one of their interviews that they love to hear negatives thoughts on thier performance so that they can improve more as an artist. I recommend that you just jump down the rabbit hole called SB19. To get to know them better. Then you will know they eat CDs. Also, u will know see their multifaceted talents. ❤ They are trully doing a Sound Break.

They were at the First Take for the second time 4 days ago and sang MAPA which have 100 million views and the new arrangement theyve made is so impressive. Youll be amazed with their vocals and harmonisation.

hi nate! thanks for reacting. appreciate your honest reaction. one thing you should also know about is our culture. Karaoke is a staple recreactional activity in every household. we love to sing. amatuer singing contests are everywhere. it is unusual for singers to sing with autone or lipsync. what you hear in the actual track is the same vocal range during live or even better. our singers are the exact definition of those who ate CD's for breakfast ;) so i understand if there's a doubt in you when you first heard them sing live in wishbus. which by the way, is live live.

Love your reaction!! I had a lot of laugh alongside a lot of new knowledge😅..Pablo was given the position main rapper but he's a good singer..he used to sing solo before training for sb19.. also it's called PPop (stands for Pinoy Pop). They're the trailblazers because the former groups (who weren't called ppop yet) didn't really prosper. One would appear and then die down or disband..another one and then disband. And there were some who were only pure looks and no training so even with talent they didn't really make a good "team" and then disband. SB19 started a movement of pioneering truly prepared and excellent PPop. They're the ones who didn't settle for mediocrity (just like the lyrics of Gento is saying). Today, there are plenty of PPop groups because sb19 didn't give up breaking barriers and challenging the music industry in the Philippines!
I really appreciate how u disect and react to songs coz you really know what you are talking about. Well with Sb19 there is really no shortage of live performances. Filipinos are not fond of lipsyncs coz u cannot do that in karaoke bar or machine…ahaha. Iipsinging is also frowned upon in our country. So i kid u not, these guys are a genuine article.
Josh, Pablo and Ken are the rappers but Stell and Justin also showed that they can wrap too. All are singers. Pablo is able to harness the different scale of each member so you get the whole scale when singing with inflection of each individuals nuances and character. And, they sing live, that is why they are known as the live monsters. Stell is the main vocal know to have the heavenly voice. Justin has a warm tone, enunciates more the words, which allows him to express more emotion when singing. He also everyone holds everyone so that you dont always have the stark nakedness of high notes and low notes. Ken is the bass and yet can do higher notes. Ken is the one singing most of the time adding layers since this song has been stripped down of instruments
If you wish to really hear them live, check out their FUSION FREEDOM performance, where they experienced some technical issues halfway through their performance. Also, I suggest the song/video WHAT next. It's one of their earlier tracks but there's a lot going on in that song, too.
First take is a japanese youtube channel that is from Sony which invites artist to record for only 1 time.
Their concept is a plain white studio, with mics on it and record raw vocals in 1st and only take and thats it. whatever the outcome is what they’re gonna upload.
Pablo being the perfectionist that he is mentioned in one of their random live that “he asked if they can record again since he was not satisfied with their performance, but ofcourse given the rules if first take, they really cannot. so that was it!

So good of you to get to react in TFT. If you think GENTO has an unconventional song structure, I can’t wait what you will say with SB19’s WHAT. SB stands for Sound Break so they’re out to break barriers and challenge the norm. BTW, they sang a ballad in The First Take, the song MAPA. I think that you got to see that, too. It’s a feast to the ears.
The first take doesnt allow any auto tune there. They took out any high back track also. If u listen to original Gento. U can tell the difference... im sure pablo made that new backtrack (less)

Their vocals are great but what’s amazing is when they sing live while dancing and their vocals are still stable …I heard they train their vocals while running the threadmill…yes they can sing, rap and dance at the same time …they can do multi genre rnb, ballad, rap, rock, edm etc etc, Stell can do musicals …and they do solos too 😊❤ thanks Nathan great reaction

They are vocal monsters!! they never do lip sync, they don't need auto tune either, we are so used to them singing live, and that's how they flow, LIVE all the way!!
GidkidDad is a US producer too but he can easily tell that SB19 sings live. Also i hope this reactor has an idea First Take literally just give artists only one take to perform a song (perhaps he does). Wishbus is live and can be heard outside the bus when an artist sings inside. So...
That's how i liked the SB19. They sang differently & the more i listen to them the more i appreciate their song & voice. There is distinction, i can name who's singing upon hearing one's part. Unlike other group singers, seems all have same type of voice. Well, i enjoyed ur reaction. Good day & God bless.
The First Take is raw vocals only. No autotune, no backing track, no post production, no mixing, no effects. And you have to do it all in one take. Whatever you record in that moment is what goes out.
