Hi Danny, Really did justice to that one. Really fantastic. Little MG 1100 story. About 2005 I seen an ad on craigslist Los Angeles that said " MG 1100", no surprise there. I was living in Phoenix, Arizona then, 6 hours away. I phoned the guy who said "you're the first person who knows what it is. I'm moving this week and you can have it for free as long as you're here by weeks end". Apparently the other calls he'd gotten were people thinking it was a midget or a MGB. I was on it like a fat lady on a candy bar! $350 for fuel and a trailer tire got her back to Arizona. Great running little car and very advanced for it's time, 1966. Had transverse mounted engine with cab forward design that gave it flat floor and tons of interior space. The suspension was glycol filled air bags "hydrolastic" setup. The left front and left rear were connected mirrored on right side. If a front wheel hit a pot hole, curb etc then the fluid from the front wheel coming up would travel down a connecting pipe to the rear wheel and make it fuller/firmer so it took the pothole etc better as it passed over. She was so smooth and comfortable you'd just relax and float along. Hope that explains it as I'm no engineer. Oh the car was light blue with black interior. It was "A" series parts common to the Mini, Alex Issigonis designed both cars among others. I rebuilt a few things and drove her around but eventually she went to a new owner in Prescott AZ area where it's dry and warm. Anyway just thought to mention it and now you know why I'm really loving this episode. All the best, Jimmy
Normally I love to see these old cars being restored to their original state but this is probably the best costum I have ever seen. The Colie dog is lovely. The driver is perfect and the colours are very authentic to the time period or this car. Beautiful job. It was a pleasure to watch the video.
An interesting one Danny, very nicely done. With most Matchbox 1-75s, I would expect a pretty much straight restoration but, as soon as they became Superfast, I don't care so much. For some reason, this one quite suited the wheels but the hubcaps were a neat addition.👍 Interesting to see the "skinny" Superfast wheels from the changeover period - quite rare. The two-tone paintjob was unexpected but really works on this car and the small details finish it off beautifully. Like everyone else, I love the painted driver and, of course, Lassie. 👌 What a difference a couple of drips of paint can make. It would be interesting to see a straight restoration of the MG, but with the occupants detailed. Your projects just keep improving and I think this wee MG might be one of your best Matchbox "restoration plus" jobs to date. 👌👍😁 Cheers for now, Dougie.
Found one of these in my local charity shop yesterday, sadly the towbars snapped off. Your restoration really brought this cheerful British classic back to life, great stuff!
I love the amount of detail in vintage Matchbox toys. You really emphasized that with your coloring. Lassie looks so adorable sitting there enjoying the ride. And it's fitting that you installed those dog dish hubcaps. Fabulous!
Super detail work. Really brings the casting to life. Shows how good these Matchbox were: just let down in looks by the basic paintwork, but they did have to keep the production costs down to sell at a competitive price. Some friends of mine had the Austin version of the MG, and I remember riding around in it in the 1970's.
Danny great job with the Custom and Restoration of the Super fast MG 1100 . Great details on the car and was that Matt or Jeff Hardey and Lassie looks great with her shinny Coat .
Very nice result. The two tone does suit this casting. Difficult to find the superfast version of this car, The regular wheel one is much easier to find.
Absolutely beautiful! I was hoping that you'd keep those skinny transitional wheels - much more realistic, and knocked out of the ballpark by the addition of colour and some hubcaps. The driver and his dog look superb. Nice one.
like that interior so much...theres a majorette fiat 127 with a dog in the back to...strange because its a two door without opening backwindows. dont know if theres a driver in it but would be fun to see you do that interior and car to...
love the paint how did you do the hub caps. are you likely to be doing a guy warrior transporter in the near future i would love to see a resto/different scheme apart from car auctions
Whoa, slow down there Hoss. You think you just get to say "I added some hubcaps" without elaborating on how they were done? Those look way too nice for you to just skip without a little hint on your method. If they were purple I'd say "oh he must have used the head of a sewing pin" but those things look darn well chromed. You got some 'splaining to do...
Must admit hated the real cars rot boxes sill's and front wing trumpet panel a strengthener under front wings , was ok if you were replacing wings but very rarely happened tight owners just patch it , hated all BL cars , saying that all cars were rot boxes Fiats and Alpha's also Renault's . Came home one day guy a the bottom of our street had a Alpha only a couple of years old engine sitting on the road .
I could take or leave the two-tone job. It also needs evening out in the front, there is more green next to the right headlight than next to the left headlight. I don't like the wheels.
I disagree Murat. The wheels have been taken to a new level considering they are half a century old superfast and looked out of place on the original. Two tone paintwork was common on these models. I like it. Perhaps more could've been done with the lamps and the grille, but where do you stop? I would be proud to have renovated this myself if this was the result. There are many who churn out mediocre models several times a week for purely RUclips monetary gain. To my mind, Danny rarely fails to deliver anything but quality with his results. Your appraisal was harsh Murat, but I respect your opinion.
The hub caps were a nice touch.
Great idea with the 2 tone 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 And Lassie looking 🔥🔥🔥
Amazing detail inside and out. I love that color combination and especially Lassie.
Turned out brilliant Danny, especially Lassie!
Minty green! My favorite color! Everything about this came out perfectly. Went from a generic diecast to something worthy of being in a glass case.
Beautiful Custom, nice paintjob. The little "Lassie" Dog is the cutest..

The two tone looks fantastic mate. Very classy
amazing, love the detail of the driver and his Lassie...

Lots of things I love about this makeover. The colours, the man and dog (brilliant touch) and those wheel hubs. Spot on.
I love the amount of detail in vintage Matchbox toys. You really emphasized that with your coloring. Lassie looks so adorable sitting there enjoying the ride. And it's fitting that you installed those dog dish hubcaps. Fabulous!
That's a little stunner. I loved my MG1100 back in the 70s, it was the fastest car on my hot wheels track.
Super detail work. Really brings the casting to life. Perfect color combination. Another spectacular model.
Beautiful car, love that two-tone paintjob, Lassie and driver looks great too 😎
Oh wow you transformed that little casting into something really special. Thanks for sharing I really enjoyed watching that.
Interesting twist with the hubcaps! Nicely done - looks like it’d be sitting in our neighbors driveway.
Amazing result, I love the two tone paint, and the hub caps are a lovely period touch!!.
Lassie and one of the Hardy boys 😁 Nice work again. 👍
one of your best models so far, by my opinion 👌🏼
Gorgeous job..
Wow, what an excellent job! You definitely enhanced it! Unbelievable result 🙂
I love the ittle MG1100 and your custom paint job is great along with the internal detailing I think it's fantastic.
Great job Danny. With Lassie and one of the Hardy Boys, what's not to love! Cheers!
Man, that casting really came alive with the new paint. Brilliant work, sir. Cheers!
What a change! I like the two tone paint and the driver and dog look very nice painted up. Excellent work Danny.
Wow great work the paint and hubcap really fetch it to the next level well done.👍
That came out looking awesome. I love the interior detail. Great job on the guy and dog.
Beautiful little restoration. Love the colors. Thanks for sharing.
Love the man and dog! Great color choice!
Superb job as always Danny, looks so much better with the little guy and lassie detailed.
I really liked the details, the Driver and Lassie looked great. The Two-tone paint jobs perfect.
excellent paint job, love the dog too
Danny great job with the Custom and Restoration of the Super fast MG 1100 . Great details on the car and was that Matt or Jeff Hardey and Lassie looks great with her shinny Coat .
Great paint job! Neat classic wheels options. Lassie was the finishing touch though.
What an awesome transformation
Good work! The Car looks nice! I've seen Marty Matchbox Makeover fix one of those earlier Matchbox MG 1100s and it looked good as new.
Really nice looking restoration. Right on
Stunning job. Superb.
It looks great well done buddy.
Love the paint scheme and the addition of the guy and dog. Your attention to detail is always in point!
Absolutely amazing
Lassie! Wow, that takes me back!
Very nice result.
The two tone does suit this casting.
Difficult to find the superfast version of this car,
The regular wheel one is much easier to find.

Crazy to think that this is 50 years old. Outlasted the original cars by some margin I reckon!

Great looking car. Done nice job. Not a big fan of the color ,but it seems to fit the model
Nice work. That short wheel base looks like it would flip the car on a sharp turn, though...
Classic!
Total Show Car Status 👌👌!!
Awesome
Epic 🔥
Brilliant! I just wish you'd show how you detailed the tail lights and chrome boot handle. With a paint brush or a pen, masking with paper tape?
Just painted with a small brush
Nice job, perfect !
Any diorama coming up soon ??
Actually I am part way into one 👍
@@DannysDiecastDisasters Nice video ahead, then ! Looking forward to it ! Thanks !
Get your Dremmel and jeweler saw, cut a great hole in the hood, and wedge a big ol' blower in there. Mr. Bean's V8 interceptor.
Wow! I REALLY love what you did! Mostly the hubcap idea! Where did you get those?
They come with Scuderia 73 wheels sets
You do such awesome work man where do you get your windshield Polish from?
Very. Sweet ☺️. Brother. It. Say. I. Live. Lee
love the paint how did you do the hub caps. are you likely to be doing a guy warrior transporter in the near future i would love to see a resto/different scheme apart from car auctions
👂👍
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
👌
Bonza renno. Ever read the tell-all book - _Mother Was A Bitch - A Dog's Life As Lassie's Daughter_ ?
I don’t like this one. It was in good nick before but hey.
But you did do a beautiful job! (Like always)

At the beginning: This is transitional superfast. I hope you don't discard the wheels.
