There is an old saying: " You can't polish the turd " but you have proved that you actually can... I'm speechless... is amazing. I love it. Looks like the original new one
Danny the miracle worker, that was one hell of a restoration, when I saw the paint stripped casting I was convinced you were going to use a load of donor parts from other models, but apart from a set of wheels and the back plastic all repaired and looking like new. Fantastic Job Danny, looks like its just come out of the box after getting home from the shops with it.
I had the 1971 matchbox Alfa Carabo. I found out that when I released the car on the edge of a filled tub, the car always made a full loop while sinking because of the aerodynamic/hydrodynamic shape of it. It was amazing to watch. Good job sir. Well Done 👍
Considering where you started and what you had to work with, WOW! Your surgeon like skill has really polished that garden turd into a thing of beauty and awe. Bravo!
Excellent superb outstanding beautiful jaw dropping eye popping amazing outstanding what else can I say about this restoration great job you did restoring this beautiful car keep up your excellent work.
Cleaned up much better than I thought it would. It's nice to see an expert at work take something that looked irretrievable and make it look like this.
I think calling it a disaster was generous! I cannot believe how nice it looks and the amount of effort to restore this was incredible. This is a testament to your skills. Thanks for sharing this.
Holy shit, we all know that you are a master at what you do but when I seen this one I thought there is no way, absolutely no hope for this casting. But you pulled it off in true style. This build is definitely a home run. Truly amazes me. Excellent, excellent job. Thanks for sharing, take care and stay safe.
WOW - just WOW - that restoration looks factory fresh. If I did not see it with my own very eyes I would say you just found an original one.... this looks great!
Absolutely unbelievable! You literally brought this one back from the grave! Hope there were no zombies in there, or you'll need to run for it in one of your post apocalyptic jobs! Great stuff!
Otro trabaj estupendo😍 y parecia imposible!!! Yo tengo 2 carabos iguales, restaure uno con los colores originales de bertone, pero deje que mi hija jugara con el, y necesita nueva restauración. Espero que pronto pueda ponerme con el...😷 las circustancias lo impiden. Grandisimo trabajo!!!!!💓💓💓💓
You really brought that one back from the edge of extinction, Danny! It's hard to get things perfect when they've got pitting like that, but your dedication to excellence really shows in projects like this one. Really nice job!
bel lavoro....dove hai preso il portellone posteriore nero?un mio amico mi ha regalato un rottamino....ma e da sistemare....ma non ha il portellone😪complimenti per i tuoi lavori
Time for me to get to work. I have one of these from a different manufacturer that I've been putting off, and it's not a percentage as bad as what you started with. I really enjoy seeing the really bad ones get saved.
I have exact same model just sitting in my cupboard but not as in bad shape. Color faded and no windscreen. Still has that original yellow chassis and pinkish purple body. So i smashed that like button and subscribed as well.
Holy mother of pitting!!! I love Alfa's and would like to see it in it's Alfa Romeo factory green, but i do understand the restoration factor, to it's original Matchbox color. Great job! Stay safe, cheers.
I just... Wow. Danny, I can't even begin to believe you were able to fix this car. I've seen you do some impressive stuff but seeing the state THIS was in, I can't believe you actually went for it, and the results are incredible. that is, admittedly, the most 80's looking car i have ever seen, but it's awesome and i'm blown away every time i see the things you can do. I've learned a lot from you actually, and i've almost got a complete gaslands team built from the things i've learned from watching you. they are nowhere near as good as what you do yet, but your vids gave me the inspiration and confidence to try, so thank you so much man. you are incredible. keep making these videos and showing us how awesome you are
This was one of my favorite cars when I was younger. I have to be honest though. I used it several times as a ramp for my motorcycle during police chases. It always seemed to be parked next to the bank during a heist..........
Truly I thought this car was too far gone after seeing its condition when the paint was removed. I'm happy and in awe that you've proved me wrong. Personally have always hated the color scheme MB released this in. Although I prefer a restoration over a customization 9 of 10 times, this time I would have gone for a custom paint job. Nonetheless, you amazed me! Have fun with your videos and your toys!!!
Wow!! What patience you have. Just turned out very nice for what you started with. You could have grown some veggies in that. Great job Danny unbelievable. Stay safe.
Hi Danny if you get any more pitted like that go to an Auto Parts store and grab a spray can of spray putty. Paint the casting in it and when dry sand back and putty has filled the pitting.
Great to hear the word 'Munted'. People staggering home from the pub on a Saturday night, could be referred to as 'Munted Punters'. I could never find any love for the original Lesney colour scheme - they were fond of horrid pinks, and sickly greens, (if you're feeling car sick, seeing a car in one of these colours, is usually enough to push you over the brink) and crunching colours together that should have stayed apart. Saying that, it's a grand job you've done there. I'd like to see a version of the original, in green...

And next on Danny's Diecast Disasters... we have a go at the RMS Titanic...
Ya know, I'm starting to think he could pull it off....
