It's so nice to see that they left this families gravesite intact. So many times, I have heard or read about people being buried under roadways and to me that's so wrong. I love that they even have their little cemetery sign there. I'll bet when the families picked these plots for their loved ones that they never imagined for the area to become what it is today. It was probably off of a peaceful country road back then with only the sound of horse hooves prancing on the ground. It's so nice too that they added a pull off to park there and visit. I love these little roadside cemeteries, especially because families get to stay together. Love this video, Scott! RIP to all ❤💐

Haha nice that's 9 mins away from me on highway I-45 and cypresswood rd in Spring.. it's a very very old cemetery ,luckily they saved it ages ago . The Wunsche Bros. Cafe & Saloon is in Old Town Spring , 9 mins away .. and yummy food too
I love that they managed to retain this little Family cemetery for the ages, even their quaint old little sign that just screams ‘cowboy era’. I do still visit my great-great grandparents graves, you can really feel the sense of history and continuation of the generations at these places. These are people who I never knew, but without whom I would not exist, my ancestors. I pray for them many times a year and plan to visit our ancestral family temple on Hainan Island the later part of next year, where I am told, the ashes of some of our earliest ancestors (1000 BC) are kept.
Thank you, thank you Scott for bringing to light a wonderful small family cemetery that even most Houstonians do not know about as they pass it daily on I-45. I have driven by it many times over the years. You could see the cemetery much more easily years ago before I-45 and the service/feeder road were expanded. You are so great for doing this along with other great segments such as Planes, Trains and Automobiles along with Uncle Buck segments. Keep up the GREAT work. ❤❤❤
Hi Scott, that’s definitely not a peaceful cemetery. It’s nice to see a family together. They could tidy up that area out of respect. Those graves are in pretty good nick considering there by the highway. RIP if you can to the Wuscue family gravesite 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐. The cemetery that I clean has a motorway on one side and a dual carriageway on the other. Very interesting piece of history. Thank you Scott for showing us. All the best to you and be safe ❤️❤️🤟🏼✌️👍
scott, i am always on the look out for your newest venture, glad you recover from the feeling of tediousness. your friends, family, pooch give you strength, and you give us strength in your vids. thanks
I love your videos of strange cemeteries. I live a stone's throw from your Walmart parking lot cemetery in Avondale Estates, Georgia, and it's always been a "odd attraction." This is another. Thanks for visiting these places!
Hi scott I'm so glad i found your channel, have been binge watching all your videos. I also have a fascination for serial killers and cemeteries. Have learned some interesting facts from you. Imagine being buried by a highway guess in 1800 that wasn't a thought. Looking forward to watching your videos this new year 2025❤
A Cemetery underneath a busy highway, sounds super loud too. I'm surprised Ron(Faces of the Forgotten) hasn't done a video on that yet(or has he? I don't know), looks well kept. I'm sure there are volunteers that help with the upkeep of the Cemetery, great video Scott
Watcher of Ron's from beginning of his channel...I dont recall him doing anything on this cemetery...and I believe I have watched everyone of his videos ... I try to make sure I never miss any of his!!!
You are amazing Scott..Thank you for sharing the Wunsche Family graveside with us.....I am glad the family or people from that town waa able to keep it..🙏🏼
Hi Scott Happy New Year! I’m glad these types of cemeteries are not relocated. In my opinion, the dead should not be disturbed. Be safe in your travels.
I used to live in Houston, now live in Dallas. I still go visit my family in Houston and take I-45. I never knew that cemetery existed till now. I'll definitely try to stop and visit that cemetery one time.
How unique. You bring about laughter and somber feelings in the most natural way. I always enjoy your videos and the music you include within. Still would love to see some sort of a sound play from you one of these days. I would buy it. Can you please tell me where I can find the music played around the 11:30 mark? I love the beat and feel to it.
There is also graves of a family buried in the Spring Branch area in Houston that is in the parking lot of a shopping strip which has been there since the 1800s. Think they died of small pox. A fence surrounds the graves so they are protected from the outside disturbances. Respect.
Local here. Wunsche is pronounced ONEche. The Wunsche family is a prominent local family who settled in the area, and that is how they pronounce their name. This is located at the southeast corner of I-45 and Cypresswood in Spring, Texas. As the camera is panned around, you can see Spring High School, located at northeast corner of I-45 and Cypresswood. If you drive two exits north and exit Spring Cypress, then turn right (east), Old Town Spring is located about one mile down. The Wunsche Brothers Cafe is located there and is a good source of a lot of local history of the area.
Native speaker here. Actually Wunsche is pronounced with a V-sound at the beginning, and I bet the U was once an Ü which is the u-umlaut sound. Scott's pronunciation is almost on point except for the ü. And an E pronounced like the "e" in the word "bed". Wünsche translates as Wishes in German.
Oh my gosh I had no idea that was there! And I lived there for 40 years… I feel gypped now ☹️. There is one on 59 going south that’s really cool as well.
Im from Texas and in East Texas near Frankston out in the middle of nowhere is a monument to settlers that were all killed by Indians. It's creepy and very quiet. Supposedly they are buried in that tiny cemetery. Extremely old.

"Denn er gefällt Gott wohl und ist ihm lieb und wird weggenommen aus dem Leben unter den Sündern" - that inscription translates as "For God apparently likes him and is fond of him, and is being taken away from life among the sinners." Your pronunciation of the name is spot on, except that the u was probably once an ü and pronounced with u umlaut sound. Wünsche=wishes. Thank you for your hard work and dedication, Scott, taking us to the most fascinating places that few of us would otherwise even know existed, let alone get a chance to visit in person. 🙏
I had no idea about this one. There's another on on Hwy 59 (now I-69) just south of Cleveland, TX. It's the Riggs Cemetery and is literally in the median between the north and southbound lanes. I remember growing up and trying to spot it on family road trips to Galveston. I think it's descendants from a family who immigrated to the northeast U.S. from England and then came to Texas after the Revolutionary War. Fantastic video, as usual!
Scott!! Hope to meet you one day! I live in Houston! You’re close to wear my aunt used to live before moving to Willis. She worked at spring high school and my cousins went there! I also grew up off 45/West Road before the area got bad!
Thanks again for your exploration. When you were trying to speak German I was looking at the dates of the stone and it was 1863 to 1869 so that person ew was a child and that marker at the bottom or away from that specific tombstone was the footstone cuz back in those days a lot of them, especially if they're children. They'd put like a footstone but it was done ,originally by the parents and then later on they would get a bigger one made if one could afford it but I really liked it. It was small and it's nice to see that it's still there cuz I've watched some explorers do stuff like that and I had recently seen one where they had taken out the whole cemetery and moved them.😢 So again thank you .
Wow. I have traveled that highway a many a time and never knew that there was a cool little cemetery down there. Crazy, but despite the traffic noise it actually looks pretty and peaceful, appreciate you doing this, Scott. And, welcome to Texas. ❤️
