Hi, glad to hear your tooth is still ok. A hairline fracture won't show on an x-ray. If it is cracked, it won't heal by itself. It's also possible that it's only a surface crack (called a craze line) and it doesn't affect the strength of the tooth.

3 tooth fixed bridges were very common before dental implants. Nowadays I only do them if a patient needs an old one replaced and doesn't want an implant.
In America- 1 implant without insurance is $5k. With insurance- $5k. Because most insurance doesn’t cover implants. Cheers to letting your teeth rot away because u can’t afford to fix minor issues that turned bigger!
In our government dental college and hospital in India, we mostly stick to rpd. Since, the treatment is completely free of cost, we do get a lot of patients and hence it does take some time. But, not more than 2 months for rpd . complete denture takes a bit more longer though. It is because, most of it is done by students under the supervision of professors and there are only few professors and bunch of students for a whole mass of people. Anyway, we always give our best and our patients are happy with our work for all its worth. This is to say everyone deserves good health and happy smiles..
I did bridge and this was so worst decision of my life . Because I was a great candidate for the implant . I regret about my decision so much . Why I ruined 2 healthy teeth, because of the one that I had crack on? I don’t recommend to anyone to do a bridge, unless you are cannot have an implant due to the medical condition. Bridge is not the best solution at all ! In my case bridge was done bad . And created me a multiple huge problem that I don’t want to count . Too many .
I have a dental implant and he’s right. Feels pretty normal after a while. Initially though the texture feels very different. You can feel the difference by running your tongue against your teeth, but after a while your brain just tunes it out.
the implant doesn't affect jaw strength and although it has no nerves and thus no "direct" feeling (you can still feel some pressure via the gums around the implant) it shouldnt affect how you chew that significantly@@GodesXsports99

A front tooth took an elbow over 40 years ago, slight discoloration and doesn’t feel the cold when tested but been living with it. No real issues. One doc wanted to do a root canal, but I passed. See no reason to do anything unless there is a low grade infection. Anyway I would choose extraction because that’s what would happen with a root canal low grade infection. I requested a cone beam X-ray but they said not necessary so I definitely walked out the door. Not going to return.
Hi, thanks for the question. An abscess is the result of bacteria getting into the nerve space of a tooth. A cavity will grow into the nerve space and give bacteria a way into the tooth. A crack will do the same thing. Even though a hairline crack looks small to you and me, it's a huge super highway to bacteria that live in your mouth. They can easily travel through the crack and reach the nerve space and cause an abscess. I hope I explained that well.

As someone who's had a Maryland bridge for 10+ years now, Don't get a Maryland bridge. It's a hassle to clean between the teeth where the bridge is connected, and the material can press up against your other teeth and displace them. More trouble than it's worth and can just give you more problems down the line.

I have 2 abcesses in my mouth, I pop them daily. If I can't pop them, I will cut the gum with a sterile blade and drain it that way. I can't afford to go to a dentist as they said I need to be knocked out because the nerve blocks don't work for me. I currently have 5 broken teeth that are slowly breaking away and falling out. No pain anymore so I think all their roots and nerves are dead lol.

Thank GOD I had an abscessed tooth when I still had my baby teeth. They pulled it out and my adult tooth grew in just fine

It gets emptied out all the time, and I have had it for quite a while. My kids will have their issues dealt with before I do.

Abscesses can be weird. A chronic abscess that is draining usually isn't painful. A non-draining abscess is painful and can be life threatening.

You'd be surprised. Some people don't want implants. Some people can't get implants due to medical reasons.
My brother went to Columbia and came back with a full set of teeth. He never told me how much they cost but I know my brother, it must have been a good deal.
If only teeth are so invincible we don't need these surgeries anymore.
But because our teeth are weak, and I have super strong dental phobia, if only there are super 100% painless options, I would actually replace all my teeth with dental implants and I won't have to be afraid of stupid cavities and dentists anymore for I would never return to them at all.
