I believe you're referring to the rotor end ring. That is the object directly behind the bearing. The benefit of end rings is that they connect all the windings together so that current can flow as opposed to building up and arcing. Thanks for the comment! Hope this helps.
@@fee2044 Bearing covers come in two parts that are bolted together in order to enclose the bearing and prevent foreign particles from entering and causing fouling. The bearing cover only needs to be removed if damaged or worn and since this one was fine it was not removed.
Helpful video.
Thanks Jayson!
Great video, thanks for posting
Thanks Dane! Glad this was helpful.
Can you show how to change the fan on a Vem motor. I need it today for my school project
Hi Aksel, we'll add it to our video list! (won't be today)
Great video, thx!
Glad you liked it!
Hi, What is the benefit of the piece behind the bearing that you did not remove from the shaft?

@@emotorsdirect ys sir, thank u so much, i’m mechanical maintenance but this is interesting.
Very good, thanks.
Thanks Isaias, new videos coming soon.
Does current pass through these bearings?
It's not supposed to, but it can if there are large voltage spikes on the input.
Thankyou
