I just bought a desktop model. Waldorf ad a sale, the Presidents' Day sale in US also. It was relatively inexpensive. The videos here on it sealed the decision. Really has a lot of potential! Thanks and keep up the great videos!
14 years ago!!!!! WHAT! I had no idea this synth was that old. WOW. Fantastic demo. I've just ordered the lite version in the StudioLogic Sledge 2.0. I may have to buy one if these for the added features. WOW.
It's like manic channel surfing late night, in some alternate dream-reality where everything is cool in a waky way, and even the abrupt channel changes seem like they go together. Shouda been a soundtrack to Night Flight lol.
All your synth demos are amazing, but these two blofeld demos really stand out. It really seems like you finally have a machine that can possibly cure you of your G.A.S. You are just rocking out so.damn.hard, way more than anything else you posted. Cheers and dont ever stop!
I just picked up a Behringer Odyssey. I want a blofeld for soundscape stuff. This video now makes me want to get one and do a full on industrial project. Just wondering how a digital synth would sound next to an analog one
That sound at 3:22 was like some kind of transformers nightmare.... Holy crap! You sealed the deal I just bought one from Moog Audio 799! Thanks for the demo!
King Jexus once again confirms the old adage; it's not the tool that counts, it's the craftsman's skills. Well done and long live the king of synthesis!
Love Jexus demos but he makes everything sound good, in that regard (for me at least) I know I will never make whatever he's demoing sound as good, so I watch/listen with some caution.
@drtritri It's also a matter of knowing it. I had the Nova IIX and now I have the Q (wich sounds great from the ground= Initialize a sound, sweep the filter and you can really FEEL the sound) and the Blofeld. First thing I'd do with Blo is turn off all the FX and then reduce the Amp Velocity to make it sound much louder without having to press the keys like there was no tomorrow. Also work with the OSC Brillance.
that was epic. It has all the classic new wave and industrial sounds I love. Is it hard to get all that stuff going on ? I had an original Motif 6 and I found it annoying and confusing. I am a guitar player really. Just really love synths but not really keen on all the menus and crap.
Hehe, just trying to warn people who expect to get the same sounds instantly when they buy the synth! ;) And funny you mentioned the Ion demo, my favourite, even before his demo i digged the sound, i think i should get one.
@Tri3Dr Did you just turned the filter overdrive up a bit? OK, you can also do it with the Blo, but it would distort (nicely although) almost from the start, in the Nova the overdrive adds pure warmth and thickness (considerably) in first place (it seems to just enlarge, oversize the sound) and then it starts to distort at some point. And it has a quite nice double saw algorithm. Just my opinion.
What comes to Blofelds sound it has crispy and thick sound when needed, can be sweet and very smooth as well. It also has vast amount of parameters compared to Nova. Or even microQ.
I have to say this fellow is a good player! He has his finger on so many cool synth feels, a whole catalog of 70s, 80s and 90s music. What band is he in?
@javiceres I must add that I've just get a Novation Nova and it just sounds so loud that gives you a certain impression of superiority over the blofeld, and that kind of crashes my dream of the Blo being the perfect synth. I thought it would be a super-microQ but it actually sounds different.
@javiceres Yes, like i said: i have had both and there is no sense to talk about Nova in same day as any of this Waldorfs that has been discussed. At the moment i have Blofeld, XT and Q. And i have to take some words back. Though Blofeld has more wavetables and some other parameters that Q or XT does not have, those older knobby machines have "that something" that Blofeld lacks. It might be also that it's Blofeld that has some kind of annoying factor in its typical sound characteristics.
@Tri3Dr Well I really like the Blo, but the amount of parameters is almost identical to the microQ. It has more clipping/overdrive curves and wavetables for sure, it also has the samples and the really nice brillance parameter for the oscillators, but it hasn't ring modulator as effect and VoCoder, both of them useable with the external audio inputs... and the reverb has less parameters ; ) although it sounds less artificial (I liked that artificial reverb for some over the top fx though).
oh my ... you are a nut case man ... great work ... how is the midi implementation in those machines ? i'd like to know more about cc# et prgch please because i'd buy the rack version & i always needs a lot of midi data from a machine. i read here & there that the blo often crashes & is unstable ... true ? keep your flow
@lemsta007 Yes. Even if you would have XT and Q, even then this would bring something new to setup. Of course user interface lacks all of those nice knobs that there is in Q and XT.
@javiceres And what comes to Waldorfs.. you were disappointed about Blofeld even if you compared it to microQ?! Say whaat? Blofeld is SUPERIOR to that. It's more like all previous Waldorf combined together plus even more. :D It's microwave + Q + XT and having some extra capabilities like different wavetables at the same time. Plus option to load 60MB of samples to it (if licence is bought). It's BTW also first time when Waldorfs wavetable synth has decent effects on board.. . .
@Tri3Dr I just said: " I like it but I recall the microQ sounding kinda more powerful and thicker" I didn't said better, besides specs aren't necessary what makes one instrument superior to another.
@lemsta007 Depends how much money and how big studio you already have. Blofeld brings some new dimensions and capabilities to Q but in certain aspects Q is much better. Maybe only way to really know is to try..? :)
@lemsta007 I had a micro Q and thought this would be the one and bought the desktop version. I like it but I recall the microQ sounding kinda more powerful and thicker, now I wonder if it's just nostalgia... or may be the Q would be it for me. I never got it because is so expensive the makes me feel guilty paying that for a digital synth, when you can have an old Virus, Blofeld... etc for so much less. Have anyone compared the Q and blofelnde?
some light here please.. . don't understand this: ''S - At least one oscillator uses a factory sample, so this sound cannot be achieved on the desktop version without the license.''
It's a wavetable synth and on the keyboard version shown you have 60MB of free space to add custom waves into. On the desktop you need to purchase a license to unlock this memory for use. I unfortunately have the desktop unit!
It is funny but I never really liked the sound of Waldorf equipment. I do like my Pulse + but for bass lines only. I had a Q and a XT but sold them both. Maybe it is the wavetable thing I do not care for. Great demo video Jexus. 5*****.
There's nothing more pretentious than your, seriously in need of therapy, comment. Just close your eyes and LISTEN! Isn't that what music is all about? This demo shows what people can do with a synth if they have the patience to take the time to develope their abilities and talent to master the controls. BTW, those passionate hand movements are what we normal people call FLAIR and SHOWMANSHIP.
True but he emphasises differences between synths. Like here you can see a lot of distorted stuff, arpeggio use and downgraded (8-bit type) sounds. The demo of the Ion for instance had a disgusting organic sound from the use of the Comb filters. Nyways

Best Synth Demos on RUclips. THIS GUY, right here!
Yes bro. Never gets old! Love this one.
Never heard a Blofield sound anywhere close to this good! Amazing tones and modulation!
It's not about the Blofeld "sounding good," dumb ass. It's about a great synth being operated by a real artist.
@@profd65 is there any need to be so rude and crass, he's clearly complimenting both the synth and the artist?
I just bought a desktop model. Waldorf ad a sale, the Presidents' Day sale in US also. It was relatively inexpensive. The videos here on it sealed the decision. Really has a lot of potential! Thanks and keep up the great videos!
This video is adding another level of proudness that I have this synth in my home 😛
Jexus you are an industrial mad man!
LOVE this guy. Given his prowess at creating patches, I'd like to hear him mangle a D-50.
14 years ago!!!!! WHAT! I had no idea this synth was that old. WOW. Fantastic demo. I've just ordered the lite version in the StudioLogic Sledge 2.0. I may have to buy one if these for the added features. WOW.

Wacky
Like watch public access tv in 1986 on psychedelics at 2 AM

Time capsule, still in the future, you'r great, thank you.
I love this machine...never want to miss !
THANKS JEXUS FOR THE ' BLOFELD DEMO VIDEO ' !
ahh, finally the long awaited Blofeld demo vid ;),well done, the synth is a monster!
You are a genius!
Beautiful Performance!
where are you now?I miss you videos nothing compares #sadface
He died in a car crash, it's not a secret.
Where exactly did you get this info from, hmm?
wtf is wrong with you? not true@@reneotten2288
Rene Otten lmao not true at all. Stop spreading false information.
I just picked up a Behringer Odyssey. I want a blofeld for soundscape stuff. This video now makes me want to get one and do a full on industrial project. Just wondering how a digital synth would sound next to an analog one
This synth seems very interesting and has some digital demons waiting to be released . I fricken love this synth . Now I want it 😒
These sounds are wonderful! Fantastic work!
That sound at 3:22 was like some kind of transformers nightmare.... Holy crap! You sealed the deal I just bought one from Moog Audio 799! Thanks for the demo!
The Keys version I’m assuming?
pffiouuu real big big talent !!
blofeld crying like never
Definitely some magic in these demos.
Thanks for the great demo, I'm convinced :)
Hehe... i love to hear it ALL DAY, dude!
King Jexus once again confirms the old adage; it's not the tool that counts, it's the craftsman's skills.
Well done and long live the king of synthesis!
How does it confirm that adage? The Blofeld is a great synth--it counts as well. It's not like the craftsman did his work with a toy. Stupid fuck.
After watching this video for literally years, I have finally got myself a blofeld keyboard on the way! Wohoo
How is it going?
Love Jexus demos but he makes everything sound good, in that regard (for me at least) I know I will never make whatever he's demoing sound as good, so I watch/listen with some caution.
@drtritri It's also a matter of knowing it.

I hear more gold from the Grand fingertips of Jexus.
You keep making videos, these are fucking sick.
:D
6:09 :) That's beautiful, reminds me of an old movie I saw in the mid-80's. Beautiful spacey music with lovely oscillators, one of my first memories.
that was epic. It has all the classic new wave and industrial sounds I love. Is it hard to get all that stuff going on ? I had an original Motif 6 and I found it annoying and confusing. I am a guitar player really. Just really love synths but not really keen on all the menus and crap.
man.......amazing. just amazing
I only have one synthesizer. I bought it largely because of this video. What happened to Jexus? Who knows?
He's back
He got a girlfriend and got tired of the synth game. He’s back in it now though. Watch Noir et Blancs video series on him.
3:36-4:08 .. Whatta trip! Sonic and music-wise just a perfect blend
Hehe, just trying to warn people who expect to get the same sounds instantly when they buy the synth! ;)
And funny you mentioned the Ion demo,
my favourite, even before his demo i digged the sound, i think i should get one.
Applied Acoustics would really appreciate it if you would make Ultra Analog VA-2 look good. :)
Hahahaa, 6:27 that nann-nann-nann is so cool!
Just my opinion.
7:41 lovely ambient sound cosmic
awesome! just awesome
What comes to Blofelds sound it has crispy and thick sound when needed, can be sweet and very smooth as well. It also has vast amount of parameters compared to Nova. Or even microQ.
Now you need to make demo on sledge studiologic.
would love to see that
At 5:50 - this is a HIT-SEQUENCE! Cool... hehe
WC Olo Garb, thx 4 this demo!! sound sharing?
I have to say this fellow is a good player! He has his finger on so many cool synth feels, a whole catalog of 70s, 80s and 90s music.
What band is he in?
I definitely want one, where's my visa card ???? nice vid, like all others actually
@javiceres I must add that I've just get a Novation Nova and it just sounds so loud that gives you a certain impression of superiority over the blofeld, and that kind of crashes my dream of the Blo being the perfect synth.
I thought it would be a super-microQ but it actually sounds different.
Yes. If he's using other thingies in a demo they are listed in the description.
@javiceres
Yes, like i said: i have had both and there is no sense to talk about Nova in same day as any of this Waldorfs that has been discussed.
At the moment i have Blofeld, XT and Q. And i have to take some words back. Though Blofeld has more wavetables and some other parameters that Q or XT does not have, those older knobby machines have "that something" that Blofeld lacks.

This music is very disturbed inluences and touching.
I like it
now there is a fucking synth, welcome to wavetable land my friend
oh my ... you are a nut case man ... great work ... how is the midi implementation in those machines ? i'd like to know more about cc# et prgch please because i'd buy the rack version & i always needs a lot of midi data from a machine. i read here & there that the blo often crashes & is unstable ... true ? keep your flow
You should never buy a synth based on Jexus' demo of it,
he could make any synth sound good!
cool !!!
just the same as i said about pt1 10/10 dude
beautiful video. when tests the waldorf q?
I wasn't really interested in this synth until I watched this. Now after finding one of the black ones for $300. I jut may check it out...
$300? the only ones I've seen having been going for $800+
Robert Dominguez I guess desktop version, or maybe second hand ?
it's a steal. I hope you get it
2:34 .. I just wet my pants!
francislalan interesting you highlighted that part. For me that was the most ordinary sounding segment compared to all the others.
This is my favorite too. Ordinary but it works so well.
Indeed.
so Solid sound.... its a mirracle!!!
@lemsta007
Yes. Even if you would have XT and Q, even then this would bring something new to setup. Of course user interface lacks all of those nice knobs that there is in Q and XT.
This little Synth sounds GTEAT! FAt monSter....
Fucking love the blofeld 🔥🔥🔥
No, without that thing called passion you won't be able to get such sounds out of your blofeld or any other synth for that matter.
Where can I download Jexus presets? :-p
C'mon, you were all thinking it...
Hope you're still alive, because HE FUCKING PUBLISHED THEM YESTERDAY
huuki huh?
Ryan Palma Jexus made the patches available for download.
Weight: approx. 8kg (9.5kg with packaging) 49 keys.
@javiceres
And what comes to Waldorfs.. you were disappointed about Blofeld even if you compared it to microQ?! Say whaat?

@Tri3Dr I just said:

Some Crazy ShIt happening here !!
Jexus videos always be crazy Andy ;)
@lemsta007
Depends how much money and how big studio you already have.

8:53 sounds amazing
Press play to explode.
Sorry, hope not too dumb a question, but does everything we hear come out of this thing?
Now I want one... argh way too much cool gear to buy %-)
wow 5:40 ....thats great!
some light here please.. . don't understand this:

great vid!
Do any one know the size of this thing? I been searching like over the hole web.
5:57 is very enjoyable sound.
@drtritri both of them are kick ass instruments - ;)
hahaha johny balma and synths! great!
he's controlling the aftertouch you knob
@lemsta007 If you have a chance to conpare them, please let me know your opinion.
I'm all about 6.27....yumyumyumyum :)
05:00 what I was lookin for
HARDSTYLE
a guitar riff played on a synthesizer...
It is funny but I never really liked the sound of Waldorf equipment. I do like my Pulse + but for bass lines only. I had a Q and a XT but sold them both. Maybe it is the wavetable thing I do not care for. Great demo video Jexus. 5*****.
Who cares what you like? I hate it when idiots volunteer their opinions.
profd65 that is why they call it comments, you are the only idiot here.
Mattsynth: I vice versa hooked to both of them.. that's why i propably wont buy Blofeld as i have them and they are filled with knobs also! :D
Is your synth circuit bent? Did you bend it yourself?
@traumatek AGREE!
I had to post again, 10:34 is serious
There's nothing more pretentious than your, seriously in need of therapy, comment. Just close your eyes and LISTEN! Isn't that what music is all about? This demo shows what people can do with a synth if they have the patience to take the time to develope their abilities and talent to master the controls. 💥//Waldorf///💦
:-)
Oscillator heat to red color
True but he emphasises differences between synths. Like here you can see a lot of distorted stuff, arpeggio use and downgraded (8-bit type) sounds. The demo of the Ion for instance had a disgusting organic sound from the use of the Comb filters. Nyways
what model biofuels is this, I want one!!!
It's the Waldorf bio-fuel. 100% climate neutral. Sounds damn good too.
