I have spent some time programming my blofeld, and I must admit this soundset is way beyond what I could achieve seeking the same kind of good ol' analog patches. Roberto is a very skilled programmer, and seemingly a good keyboardist as well. Will buy his soundset.

Very impressive sound set. I’m about to buy another Blofeld after selling mine a year ago. It was a last minute trade and I’ve regretted it ever since. For my money, the Blofeld May be the best synth of the 2000s along with the Revolver, Digitone, and Prologue.

Synth Player owned a Deepmind and was very much not impressed. Terrible keybed also.

I have finally bought Roberto's soundset. This is a gem.
If you're after classic analog sound and own a blofeld, look no further.
Every single sound is handcrafted and inspiring. There is no filler in this bank, you can use them all.
Roberto is a very skilled programmer, and has a great knowledge of what makes a sound character typically Roland, Sequential Oberheim etc... If a preset says "Moog Bass", this is not just for show, the sound will definitely has something moog-ish in its tonal characteristics. I have an experience of 35 yrs programming my own sounds. I believe I'm a decent programmer and I know a bit about substractive synthesis, but I'm nowhere close to Roberto's top tier level.
I also have bought many commercial soundsets for my synth collection (Nord Lead 4, Virus TI, Virus Kc, Deepmind12, SY77, JX10, Blofeld), even if I mostly program my own sound, I have no qualm buying a soundset that will reveal the true potential of a synth. There is always something to learn from professionnal sound designers by reverse engineering their programs. Like a coder, I can spot neat tricks by looking at the patch parameters. Roberto's patches are full of them. In a nutshell, a commercial sound bank of this quality is very unusual. Regarding the Blofeld, this is not one of the best soudset, this is simply the best soundset I could find. And I have tried many of them !
If you are new to the Blofeld and looking for classic analog sounds, my advice would be to wipe your 1024 memory slots clean. Upload Roberto's soundset in one of the 8 available banks and start programming your own. This soundbank alone makes the Blofeld a very relevant and interesting synth in 2021.

Now I'm programming a korg minilogue XD, but it's a much smaller machine than the Blofeld. Much better the Deepmind 12 although it has its limitations too. The best synth I programmed still remains the Rev2 Prophet, it has a very powerful and warm sound.
@@robertogalli8691 The rev2 is really puzzling me. A good friend of mine has one, so I had the chance to try it, but was totally unable to achieve anything interesting on it.
I have listened your pad soundset for REV2, and understood I totally missed the synth sweetspot. Your REV2 sounds are beautiful and makes me crave one in a second ! Is there anything particular with this synth ? What am I missing ? I am obviously missing something.
It seems the rev2 is also the subject of some heated discussions in the forums. Do you have an opinion on the subject ?
Each synth has its own character, predisposed more to some sounds than others, although we want to try to recreate the same sounds will necessarily sound different. You have to study it well, its possibilities and try to exploit these.

Ah, I was forgetting the most incredible thing that synths so realistic were created without using even a sample, that is practically at Km 0, or better at bits 0!
i've been looking at purchasing this synth, but all i hear on youtube are ambient dreamscape stuff.. i needed to here this. Thanks, definitely getting one now, pair it With the analog heat. Can i safely buy a used version on reverb? I've heard to stay away from second hand ones

Una domanda da totale profano (sono un batterista di professione, non un esperto di synths): consiglieresti questo synth ad un musicista che produce la propria musica e cerca una macchina che fa un po' di tutto con dei suoni di qualità?Ero intrigato dal mondo analog, ma questo strumento sembra avere anche delle sonorità calde, volendo.. Ed un'ultima domanda: per installare questo suoni si dovrebbe cancellare tutto quello che c'è dentro?

Secondo, vorrei chiederti un suggerimento sul software di trasferimento suoni.
Grazie, il blofeld è difficile e non è difficile da programmare come tutti i synth bisogna applicarsi, unica cosa che posso dirti è che a differenza di altri synth non hai tutto subito a portata di mani devi abituarti a entrare nei vari menù e sottomenu, però ti garantisco che puoi farci di tutto e veramente potente e completo per essere un VA. Per il trasferimento dei suoni è semplice esiste un editor gratuito che ti permette di gestire tutti i Preset.

I don't need a real analog, Blofeld can do, Deepmind have a nice FX and nice price, but Blofeldcan make many kind of sound, good analog preset, I love blofeld filters.
Anyone that says they “need” real analog is fooling themselves. There is a certain charm and magic to old school VCO chips with their instability, but I prefer the sounds of digital synths. Gimme a wavetable or FM synth over boring analog any day.
That said I own a few analog synths and have owned lots in the past and there are definitely some good ones out there. And out right now, like the Peak and Prologue.

How do you change the patches without the knob of the panel?
I changed patches using editors from computer
On most synths, you can send either a c.c. or midi message to the synth that tells the synthh "Move to the next present in the list.", or "Move on preset (or bank) up/down.", and/or "Move to preset/bank number____,". You'll need to consult the user manual to find out if the Blofeld 'listens' for a c.c. or midi message, and what actions the Waldorf can perform. Furthermore, Roland, Behringer & a few other manufacturers make a pedal that can send a c.c. or midi signal so that guitarists can switch presents without taking their hands off the guitar, and it is possible that the Blofeld could respond such a pedal. Finally, some keyboards that have buttons and/or respond to such messages are able to control other keyboards/synths, such as the Nord Stage 3's "External" functions...perhaps the Montage can do this too...so if you own a keyboard/workstation, you should read the manual to see if your keyboard/workstation could tell your Blofeld to change presets/banks. I hope this is helpful. ☺

The blofeld is an analogue synth......all that digital has to go out two analogue outputs.....you can't do that inside a computer
Yes, sound waves are 'analogue', so at some point in the signal chain from oscillators to analogue outs to speakers/headphones, digital information has to be converted to analogue (unless there are digital outs that go straight into the computer). ☺
However, when synths are being categorized, musicians focus on how the original 'vibration' was made, modified, and sent to the outputs. So, from that perspective, there can be analogue synths, digital synths, and hybrid synths.
1. An analogue synth is a synth that has a signal path from oscillators to filters to amplifier to outputs. The frequency of the oscillators can be tuned or changed using voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs) or digitally controlled oscillators (DCOs), but the signal doesn't pass through the control circuits, so even with DCOs, the signal path is still 100% analogue. The same can be said about how the filters are controlled. However, most musicians will point out that synths that use VCOs & no logic circuits at all do sound different, with more character, especially with the original vintage synths. So many people will call them "VCO synths", "100% analogue synths", "pure analogue synths', or something similar.
2. On the other hand, IF (a) the oscillators are replaced by a digital/virtual simulation of oscillators, or by digitally-stored single-cycle waves, or by more complex digitally-stored waves ("wavetables' like in the Blofeild), and/or (b) thè oscillator filters are digital (logic circuits), and/or (c) the amplifier filters are digital (logic circuits), then the synth is considered a digital synth.
3. If all of (a), (b), and (c) apply, then that's a virtual synth.
4. Finally, if single-cycle waves or wavetables are used, but the filters and the full signal path is analogue, then it's a "hybrid synth'.

Derek Baker i was kind of joking....but it is half true....as a self contained instrument with no digital outs....even if it's insides are all digital the sound will be defined by its analogue stages....gives it character....and encourages you to further mess with it in the analogue domain rather than doing everything digitally inside a computer
