Amazigh ("Berbers") are not originally Semitic or mostly Semitic. They are Hamitic people. Invasions much, much later, in the A.D.s, is only what has changed some of the phenotypes. Amazighs today who aren't mixed with Arab or who don't identify as Arabs will tell you this. Those invaders, including Arab (and other Semitic) peoples, and later some people from the Iberian Peninsula mixed with the people and adopted some of the Amazighen cultures, and through the enforcement of Islam, the Arabs brought some of their Islamic culture, too. The same invasion in Algeria, same in Lybia, same in parts of Mauritania, same in Sudan, and similar (through colonialism) in Cabo Verde.
Berber people are descendants of Hamite, the black-skinned group of people, not Semitic, as this video mentioned. North west Africa was invaded in the 4th century AD by Vandals, a Barbaric Germanic tribe, which left a genetic mark on the local Amazigh people.
@@shaheryarAhmed-y5e Berbers didn't like intruders and new comers. They were very hostile to Arabs during the Islamic conquest. They like to live in enclosed places, which is evident in the way they built their villages. To corroborate on what I am saying, the name Algeria in Arabic literally means "the comer to these lands is a visitor", which stands for their hostility (the berbers of Algeria) to new comers .

I very much enjoyed the content in this video. It was off-putting to have a faux voice delivering this fascinating content. It prevents me from subscribing, sadly. It is such rich human history; yet, delivered without proper inflection and passion 😢
I am Amazigh jew, Morocco didn't keep it's jews 😢, and now it's a third world country. The real Amazigh of the magreb are now only the Jewish descendants of the Amazigh, the ones now in the magreb are arab completely, and lost their traditions to islam.
To be exact if Moroccan people descend from Mizraim there a whole lot of missed information here. When the Roman's came to Africa they mixed with them and that is why as you mentioned in the videos they have Japethite bloodline. For those of you that don't know this this would be European genomes. The information about the Hysos people is also from the same ancestry so to speak. to TopSkip to main content An official website of the United States government Here's how you know Log in Access keysNCBI HomepageMyNCBI HomepageMain ContentMain Navigation Preview improvements coming to the PMC website in October 2024. The Kartagenes were of the Hadad princes of Ishmael or Hadadshti. FACT!
Aren’t the current ones simply just middle eastern descendants??
No. Many of them don't have any Arab/Middle Eastern blood, while some do. But it's still Amazigh and other Indigenous North Africans.
