I'm about 9 months in and have driven roughly 20.000km in mine. Despite not fully being the target audience at 41 I still look back at it and still look forward to every upcoming drive. When you add that to the rarity of genuinely interesting new cars on the market today (at least in the fast and affordable category) I think hyundai really have made something special in 2021/2022.

Great review! I must say i love mine. It’s an amazingly capable car and in an unbeatable package. The fact that it cost less than 40k drive away is just bonus.
I’ve installed racechip tuning on mine bumping the power figures to 242hp & 350nm and it flies!

Sounds good, which tuning did you go for? Is it reversible?

RaceChip tuning. It’s plug and play and totally reversible.

Covid has really gone to your head already ? You could buy an I30N for $40k in 2019 and a Golf GTI for not much more than that.. A car like this for $40k is absolutely absurd. Don't forget that.

@@ashcosmo3854 to be fair, Hyundai is increasing the price by $2000 starting in August. People who left deposit and have been waiting are being asked to pay the increase or cancel the deal.
There are over +700 orders from Australia alone and Hyundai simply can not meet the demand.. so they literally stopped taking orders. That’s right, you can’t even order a new one anymore.
This car is a global hit and everybody wants one. This extremely high demand coupled with the shortage of material such as semi conductors have left Hyundai not being able to meet the demand on a global scale. Production is backed up so far people are having to wait up to 24 months now.
Those who are waiting (up to 24 months) are still lucky because at least they get to buy the car eventually. And at 40k drive away, it’s still a bargain in this current climate.
Can you blame the private sellers for wanting over 40k? Why would they sell it for any less than that when hundreds of people are having to wait for up-to 2 years for one? When you can’t order a new one anymore..
The price will only continue to go up. I honestly think at 40k drive away it’s still the best value performance car out there right now.
I wouldn’t even consider selling mine for below 42k. That’s just the reality of the current market.

@@OfficialMINIm everything about what you said is absolutely factual. Don't listen to Ash, I'd rather have an i20N for 40k than an i30N for 40k, forget the GTI, and most of the i20N owners would agree with me on that. But at the end of the day, it comes down to personal preferences and what YOU want in your car.

You guys nailed it, I am not in the target demographic but bought one as a second car/toy, something that can pull duty to nip to the shops but can also be used when we just want to go for a drive on a nice road or do a track day :) As an added bonus my wife also loves to drive a manual so when we were looking for something for the job this came out on top with others getting crossed off because they had no manual gearbox (Looking at you VW).

Oh yes, so glad you guys got your hands on this incredible car! It's almost overwhelmingly excellent and feels exciting and special to drive at any speed and I ADORE the rev matching, makes me feel like a pro, even though I'm nowhere near 😀😀😀 Thanks so so much for posting!

Great car...when it is working. We're having an epidemic of i20N fuel pump failures in Australia which has left myself and an ever growing number of other i20N owners with no car and currently no idea when they will be fixed. Head on over to Hyundai i20N owners club Australia to see for yourself.
