    Today I’m reviewing the Arturia Minilab 3 which brings a number of improvements over its predecessor and retains the excellent build quality while being remarkably lightweight. Overall its great design and good key feel and size make it a good option if you’re looking for a mini keyboard controller with 25 keys.

    great explanation. how does it work with drum rack? is it possible to controller parameters of each pads on the drum rack??

    I don't know how to play the keyboard but i love how you played the lead, how long will it take me to play like that?

    • @LowHeatBeats
      @LowHeatBeats  Год назад +2

      That's impossible to answer, but if you practice regularly, you will get there for sure. Playing monophonic lead lines isn't that hard.

    Question… if i turn the master bass of a preset completely down to -10 dB does that cut out all of the low frequencies or are they just not hearable anymore ? Sorry I’m a newb and would appreciate some help on this many thanks 🙏

    • @LowHeatBeats
      @LowHeatBeats  Год назад +1

      If it's labelled the way you describe it, it most likely just decreases the volume of the low frequencies by 10 db. To cut all lows you're looking for a high-pass filter.

    Best review I’ve seen , still not understanding why the pads only access the bottom 8 in Ableton drum rack when there’s 2 banks of 8

    • @LowHeatBeats
      @LowHeatBeats  Год назад

      Glad you liked the review! I think it’s because the second bank is for launching clips.

    i don't know why someone doesn't make a $30 usb pitch/mod wheel combo to complement controllers with touch strips or none at all. spring loaded pitch is so much more expressive than touch, and accidentally touching the mod strip can be a big bummer.

    Do the pads work with Maschine Software?

    • @LowHeatBeats
      @LowHeatBeats  5 месяцев назад +1

      Haven't tried it but the pads send MIDI, so they should work with anything that receives MIDI, Maschine included.

    This was one of the best reviews of minilab3...really appreciate your way of explaining. I bought this last month. This is my first MIDI controller. I felt the keys too hard and felt challenging to play fast tempo melodies. Secondly, am getting a feeling, 25 keys aren't something I would look forward again to buy. Though the octave keys serve the purposes of moving right and left on the octaves this mode of using the lower octave and higher octave is not that comfortable. Does Arturia keys are this hard for their other models too (I mean the 49, 61 keys etc.)? Need to look for other brands in that case. Loved the build quality etc. Well. Thanks again from Pune city, INDIA.

    • @LowHeatBeats
      @LowHeatBeats  Год назад +2

      Glad you liked the video! Keys are very subjective and I don't find these to be too hard. From the bigger models, I've tried only Keylab Essential and I didn't like them. In fact they were too soft for my taste. So you may like them more. 2 octaves is definitely not enough, it's just a compromise for saving space and for portability.

      You said you didn't like Keylab essential ... Was it 49 or 61?
      If not Arturia which brand would you suggest?
      Thanks in advance.

      @@shreepadgandhi6739 aim more for a 49 key bed. They tend to be better quality and the keys are standard long size. These mini keyboards tend to have shorter keys and also the action on them is very toylike or too hard

    People on youtube told me, minilab can be used directly connected to computer. Boy oh boy it was wrong. I connected minilab to my gaming computer. The latency is so high, it could not be used to play real music. Do am going to need aidiointerface now.

    • @LowHeatBeats
      @LowHeatBeats  12 дней назад

      This isn't unique to the Minilab though. Any MIDI controller will have latency if you don't use a low latency driver in your DAW. On Mac you have these built-in, while on PC you have two options - buy an audio interface with a good ASIO driver, or try using ASIO4All with your built-in soundcard. It will give you acceptable latency but not as good as having a proper audio interface.

    Arturia's software centre in a nightmare, their online help is a joke and they're the only company in the world that doesn't have a complaint process. I wonder why? Because they sell junk.

      Aah, I’m sorry to hear that. I’ve had a good experience with their support once but I’m not a heavy user of their products. The software center does seem to be a bit buggy indeed.

      @@LowHeatBeats just wait till you get keys breaking free from your midi controller.
      They're peddling junk, m-audio make better controllers.
      Arturia put all their eggs in marketing, sending there gear to RUclipsrs because people will do an upload to same how great their gear is but how many do uploads after using it for a year or even 6 months?
      I just don't listen to reviews anymore because you just don't get the truth and I am sick off spending my hard earned money on tat.
      Companies don't care anymore, it's all about getting you to part with your money and the product is secondary, all the worst gear have more uploads but no one tells the truth.
