This is wonderful, thank you. I discovered Fulton at the beginning of the year and he really galvanised me. Then a few months ago I moved house and my gel plates stayed packed away Until I discovered you!! Between you my understanding of how gel plates can be used to make wonderful art has grown so much. Thank you both, you are a wonderful team
You are so welcome! Thank you so much for your wonderful comments. Fulton galvanized me, too! I feel honored to be in his tutelage and part of yours. Peace to you, Janet 🌿
Sue, I think it's because I'm using a heavier body acrylic which tends to stay moist longer than a fluid. Once you put it down and brayer it, when it comes time to take off the stencil/masks, you do have to work quickly and get your paper down. The printing paper or watercolor paper fibers (whatever you use) will absorb the paint's moisture. It also depends on your studio environment, climate, time of year, etc. When I recorded this, it was a hot, humid Texas summer.
Not at this time. I'm using RUclips exclusively right now to become comfortable filming and recording myself. It's quite the learning curve. I had a teachable school platform for several months without uploading any curriculums or videos. I may develop some classes later after I settle into my new location and after my biopsy this month. You're on my email list, so when I make any announcements or updates, you'll be notified! What would you most like to learn?
@@KateWordArt sorry about delay in responding. first, I understand this is a new set up for you using the camera and everything but it is working very well. Videos are great. Extremely informative and with a warm and reassuring delivery. I think any online class you set up will do great. personally one of the things I would like to learn is how to incorporate my original photography into a collage that contains a gel print. I don’t necessarily mean through a transfer (tho i would like to learn more about that process). Also, where i get stuck with the gel plate is understanding color combinations. also, how to create stencils that are not just circles. i find myself doing is the same type of gel print over and over again (lots of circles) . I want to break out of that and learn how to create more abstract and diverse pieces...even some that might mirror nature or landscape (which is what most of my photography is) thanks again for your great work.
@suerothberg143 Thanks for the feedback, Sue and your needs provide ideas for what others might find useful, too. I'll see what's next for me after the new year. I have medical tests next week and follow up here with new doctors. If I need treatment, that will dictate my new directions for a while. But i will keep you informed here. Peace 🌿
OK Susan. I did the subtitles and added them, but it may take awhile for YT to generate the timings, etc so, check back in a little while. Peace to you.
Hi Becker, the last few videos I've uploaded have been adjusted down. I'm sensitive to noise and people density, so I understand. The shorts need further adjustment but I'm working on that. Thanks for your feedback. 🌿 Peace

Hi, Kate! Enjoyed this very much. Thank you for adding tips about color - I find it helpful, & often put the info to use right away. Thank you!

Thank you so much, Anne for your lovely, fabulous comments! Peace to you!
still loving your stencil/mask creation and placement! enjoyed this exploration! : D
Thanks so much, Judith, for your comments as always. Peace to you.
Beautiful result! I actually like that it has some differences from the painting.
Thanks so much, my sweet art friend, for your beautiful comment.
Nice
Thanks, Karin for your comment!
also wondering with all the mark making with the wedge and shaper....how does the paint remain wet enough for the pull without drying out?

do you offer any online classes?

@studiofive5977 thanks so much for your well wishes 🌿 Peace
Kate, I'm crazy about your videos. I have a hearing loss and really need to closed captions. Could you turn that on? Thanks!
I thought I had. I did all the subtitles. I'll look again. Thanks for your comments, Susan, and I appreciate you letting me know. Peace to you.
OK Susan. I did the subtitles and added them, but it may take awhile for YT to generate the timings, etc so, check back in a little while. Peace to you.
They're activated now.
Nice exploration. Inspiring suggestion Take background music volume down it is distracting for those of us who get sensory overload. Thank you.
