Thank you, I enjoyed your work very much and I’m very sorry you’ve had such a tough year. I find painting to be therapeutic as I’m not a well person which make my world a little small at times. I hope it helps you in your healing journey. Your determination inspires me. Thanks again❤. I love the last pull, gorgeous!
@lindatoews5265 Thanks, Linda, for your well wishes & for all your comments. I'm improving, but as you might know, 2 steps forward, 3 back. Very frustrating. Thanks for watching & stay tuned. I'm editing more video now. Peace 🌿
I enjoyed watching your process tech glitches and all. I really liked the pattern you made in the last print. I thought it was very affective. I wish you sunny pain free days, applaud your courage and look forward to your next video whenever that is. Do take care.
Hello Kate! So glad you are back! Blessings and positive thoughts to come your way. BTW there might be a setting in your camera to disable the autofocus so it won't keep jumping around, I have the exact same problem when the screen is blank/ all white. The camera seems to only work when there are different objects or colors in the area of focus.
Yes, I noticed that in your last video...made me feel better that it happens to others! Only setting option I have is manual focus. Next videos are shot w my Nikon. Thanks for the welcome & positive thoughts/blessings. Love your new explorations, too! Peace 🌿 😍
I also watch Fulton and it was he that recommended we find your page and I am so happy I did. Like him you both open the door for me to abstract art which is speaking to me alot since I started into Mixed media a year ago after 25 years of painting. Is been so enriching and therapeutic. I paint daily since going this direction. Thank you and Fulton both for the vibe you bring to art and the gel plate.
So glad to have found your channel only last Saturday! And then by way of your link, Fulton Sim. I love your style and relaxed easy video process. As another who has been through many long distance moves, loss, and tenuous situations, my heart goes out to you and wish you peace and peace of mind. Look forward to the next video! ❤
I'm glad to support Fulton & that you found his channel. He certainly opened my world to large format printmaking. Thanks for your encouraging comments. Peace 🌿
YAY!!! LOVE the first pull. “As artists, we are troubleshooters.” So great to find this video from you. Your stencil work always inspires me. TY! 37:42 WOW. 🎉 But wait - 40:22! So great.🎊
First time watching you. Great work. Love the file folder stencil idea. How about coating them with mat medium first. Would that help with sticking and pealing? Just a thought.
So happy I found you and your beautiful art. I live alone … old widow with two cats after a life that once was eventful 😂 My new ‘thing’ is watching artists on RUclips. Love what you are doing and your large gel plate. I have moved from a very big house to a very small house and I’m not sure how to set up an area for my future ‘masterpiece ‘ ( I am laughing as I write this ) Thank you for your videos. Very inspiring. Take care 🌷
Thank you, Diane, for your beautiful, inspiring comments. It sounds like we have lots in common. I wish you lots of wonderful choices in your artful living & new practice! Enjoy!!! 🌿
So Glad to see your return. I have your site saved under subscription and was so happy to see a new episode. If comments help support your motivation … very happy to supply. Love your creativity and sense of design along with color. Sending very best wishes. Rita
Lovely prints! So fun to experiment. For your cam, try zooming out a little if you can, maybe it won’t have to adjust so much and you can edit the cropping of your video after.
It is so good to have you back Kate!! I am sorry that you went through so much getting to where you are, I can relate! I am happy to know that you can get back to your art and I am sure it is making a positive difference in your life. Looking forward to what will come next and don't put too much pressure on yourself to do too much. You will find your way and we will be made better for it. I enjoyed your video and I look forward to what will come next! Cheers!!! 🥰❤❤❤
Happy that you have found a new safe home and got away from the negativity. Art is such a healing thing. Nothing makes you more happy than a place to call home and peace.
Thank you, Tanya. I fell in love & trusted a man that everything I believed about him was a lie. Healing from this doubting of myself & my judgment will take some time. Art is healing, you're right. Thanks for your comforting words. Peace 🌿
So good to see you back making art and posting videos. I loved your pieces today! The radial theme is a very interesting way to begin and I liked the second layer. I use plastic stencils but don't clean them, just let paint dry. Feeling safe is very important, please take care to protect yourself. Love kitties, they are all the companionship I need!
I think the added benefit to throwing away your stencils every now and then is that your artwork doesn't get stuck in a rut. Using the same stencils over and over makes everything look the same, at least for me.
Oh you poor thing. Moving three times in seven months has got to be just horrible. One move is such a distruption in life, let alone three. Hang in there. Your kitties are cute and it is nice to see them in the videos wanting to check on Mom and see what she is doing. Art is healing and I am glad you are back.
Thank you so much for your sentiments and encouragement. You're right, it's been very challenging, but I'm settling in and feeling more at home now. Peace to you always.
@@KateWordArta wonderful inspiring video Kate. I also love watching and am inspired by Fulton. The thing that stands out for me most in Fulton’s printing experiments and printing adventures, is his complete embracing of his creative process. Not once have I heard or has he ever had a negative comment about any of his outcomes. As a Master Printer of many years experimenting, I guess he knows that every single time one creates art, it is a one time experience and we are never in control. Hope your pain becomes a thing of the past for you… so you can enjoy every minute of everything you create… because out here in RUclips watching land… we are appreciative of your endeavours. ❤
@jdmosaics thanks, Neena Me, for your observations and encouragement. You're right of course, about Fulton's embrace of his creative process. I guess I haven't reached that maturity yet, but I'll keep working towards it. Peace 🌿
There is a way to disable your autofocus so that the focus stays wherever you set it beforehand. Look in the menu on your camera to find something about autofocus. Thanks for your videos.
Hi, I just discovered your videos, I'm really delighted with your technique. But I have a question regarding the base and the templates you use, what material are they made of and where can I get them? Thank you very much for sharing.
@imeldagalindo6897 hi , Imelda. The "base" is a 16x20" gelli plate that you can get from gelliarts.com. They have a smaller size 8x10 or 12x14 that you might consider starting with if you've not worked with the plates before. And there's the cost to consider, too. The templates are homemade masks & stencils that I cut from Manila file folders, which are temporary and fall apart easily. I recommend using plastic subject dividers from school supplies area or sheet protectors in office supplies. You can also get mylar sheets from Amazon. There are links to various products I use below the videos in the description box. Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. Peace 🌿
Kate, I’ve missed your videos but I understand from Fulton that you have had a bit of hard luck lately. I just wanted you to know that we could share a lot! Not that I want to know any details, just letting you know that, as women, we have to stick together and hold each other up. Whatever has occurred, I want to send you some love and know that I understand of how damn hard and unfair life can be. Reach out to friends and family that support you. Please be well…….
@@artlives8188 Hi, Nikki. Thank you for your well wishes. Yes, it's been a challenging time, but I'm on the mend in every way. I've had good support from family, friends, & church, so all is well with my soul ❤️. Thank you for reaching out. Peace 🌿
Kate, I was curious whether or not you were insured for your camera that was stolen? I rent so I carry renter’s insurance to protect my belongings. It’s very cheap.
Yes, I'm insured, but my deductible.... I chose to buy a new camera. The camera I lost was quite expensive, a gift from my husband. I downgraded, though, and I regret it. But I bought what I could afford. BTW, apartments and retirement communities require renter's insurance. I did file a report with the facility, but not with my insurance company. Higher premiums with claims... Thanks for checking. 🌿
