Pretty sure he didn't want to talk about religion. To each thier own. I don't care what anyone does or what they believe in, but I can't help but kinda take issue when a person is basically telling someone else that their religion doesn't make sense at the same time as telling them how their own religion does make sense, especially when all the 1st person was just basically wishing a separate person that they will be well and that their God will be kinda looking after them. (That's how I see it anyways.) Personally, I don't really believe in "God" exactly. I believe that there is A LOT that we don't understand. And also who knows what people back then exactly were referring to when they refer to "God". I don't want to say it's aliens.... but... it's aliens..... kidding.... maybe.... I also tend to believe that both the Bible and the Quran were written by people.... and people..... well, they can suck. I think it'd be a very hard temptation to resist for anyone writing the literal handbook that would guide a whole religion of people, to not write at least some things in the book in a way that would be more in line in a way that the writer would think he get some benefit or political purpose. A good example is how some parts could get, uh, removed. Tell the whole thing, ya know? I also think that people can deliberately misinterpret the texts is ways that better suit thier agenda. Because organized religion is probably the greatest form of control over people. Undeniable. I also think it's Undeniable that as society drifts further away from religion, the worse off things are. Except in the middle east, the shit is ALWAYS hitting the fan over there. What's with that? Am I an infidel? What do you do with infidels? Hmm, which religion doesn't make sense? Thought exercise, can you imagine what would happen if a person like David Copperfield or some other naturally skilled magician were alive back then? You think that a person like that wouldn't be called a God? Or worship him or something? Anyways, I do believe that there is some kind of energy within us, (soul? Maybe.), and that maybe that energy within us casts an aura that some people can see or sense. And that something happens with that energy when we die. I just personally don't really think that there is some all controlling being that essentially relegates us to being his "ant farm." I just like to think of us as more than a hobby for a all knowing, all powerful, all controlling Supreme being. But who knows? See? It kinda sucks when someone just start talking about things you weren't really talking about and kinda wondering if your religion change may not have been..... anyways. I don't care what other people do or believe in, but when the 1st guy is just withing someone we'll and saying Jesus will keep him safe (or whatever), maybe just take that for the kind hearted gesture that it was, realize that is getting more rare these days, and not take it as an invitation to try and convert someone. You converted? Cool. Good for you. Maybe not everyone wants to hear about how thier religion doesn't make sense and that's why you converted.

Super video! You make a good point about not getting hung up on one spot. I found float which lead to a 4 foot wide vein on my claim! Havent explored enough to determine mineral content though, but there is micro placer gold in the area, and it is quite coarse. Lots of ugly quartz in smaller veins, very red quartz along with a soft red mica, and flaky black mica, and some fine grained grey/silver mineralization all in the same sample. Wish I had a crusher!
My first thought when I saw you drinking that water is that you haven’t done much hiking. But as I watched your video. You know what your doing and I learned a ton from you. Great Video
Nice find Jason! I found some quartz float on the rivers edge that I couldn't trace to the source, but it had free gold in it. 4 pieces in one little rock! That was frustrating. Have to try and trace the source again, just don't know how far down the river it came.
Do you know how to read surficial geology maps? I would look through your local government's surficial geology map and go from there. Keep an eye out for ice direction indicators on the map and in the field. Look for recent alluvial deposits on the map and glacial-fluvial deposits. Other features to look at on those maps are basal till (commonly called veneer till) and ablation till (especially terminal moraines).
thought for sure you were on a " WILD GOOSE " chase, i was sent on plenty of them till i figured out the old timers frame of mind,, did you take a good sample of the soil at/ below the foot wall? if you want mothers treasures you really have to work for them,, great video
Falcon MD-20. a lot lighter than hammers, chisels and prybars! Although it still never hurts to have those also. Great video and it makes me home sick!
Gold is more common than some believe and people refuse to believe it can be laying in your backyard. Is easier to say it’s pyrite than to say a kid found a valuable metal they overlooked
@@realestdaddymac5974 Gold really isn't that common, but it is easy to overlook if you don't know what you're looking for. I feel like folks tend to think it's only available deep in some mountain or whatever, when the fact of the matter is that you can find it in a stream, sometimes your own backyard (but I wouldn't dig too deep... you'll have sewage line issues). Gold also isn't the only valuable thing to be found. Things like Amethyst, Ruby, Emerald, and other precious gems can be found just by sifting through dirt in a river, especially if it comes through a mountain. I mean, I remember taking a trip to Chattanooga TN, doing a bit of panning and found all sorts of precious gems. I didn't need the money or anything so I donated them to my local school's Earth Science teacher because he didn't actually have raw samples of them.
@@point-five-oh6249 here in Pacific Northwest we get lots of garnet. We practice panning by learning to keep the garnet in the pan. And gold can be found in most any mountain river here. Some big finds I heard of were right in dirty rivers in middle of big cities. Specifically Edmonton Alberta

I follow a lot of mining and mining exploration channels out there on the RUclips. Your channel is unique is that nobody else is reaching the technical level of explanations you provide. Please keep going!
Thank you, Brother! You have informed all of us the most out of all the channels on you tube. I have learned so much from you. I am so thankful and I wish there was some way to show my appreciation. Do more of these 'Easter egg' hunts. Would ya? I love watching the adventures, but I also am benefiting from the real world examples that you show. I do hope that it is as worth it to do these videos for you as it has been for me. One thing I am curious about is the fluxes you use. Are there any natural occurring materials that I could use to do my hot pots instead of having to purchase from somewhere? I am just beginning my 'go' at smelting and such, so please excuse me if I am mixed up with anything and if I have missed anything. You are a great teacher and I am learning so much from you.
Try pinhole glasses. They are surprising. They work your eye muscles. They work for me with adequate light. You can get the same effect squinting through your fingertips. Make a tiny hole with your finger tips, squint through it and check the 'fringe effect' and how it affects focus. Its about impedance or diffusion or something like that...diffraction?
An excellent video Jason....I have a similar spot on my claim with a 75' - 100' drop almost vertical to the creek below. I have been happy working the creek and finding gold, but I might start looking at the quartz outcropping at the top of the cliff, it's big...about 25' long and about 15' high, covered in moss ....lots of mineralization in spots but I only have about a 3'-5' ledge to work to work on, so I'll Safely try to get some samples next year.... To hanks Jason
Makes sense that the gold would be concentrated near the footwall, if the vein was horizontal. Knowing the GPS coordinates could help you find a better access route or similar geology in imagery. How about yhin mountaineering ropes and nylon sacs for getting more down to safer levels? Good luck! I'm right there with you on your video.
A huge thank you for this video now i know what i need to look for i have been banging my head against the wall for quite some time now.....this perfecly explains what i needed to know
USGS divided the entire country into a grid. Used to be each county has paper maps of the grids around them with all the claims set out; dunno if they ever digitised. So take GPS coords, figure out what county you are in, and then go find the mines department to get the maps of the area.
That's really cool to see you find visible gold in western Washington. I've spent a lot of time in the hills and mountains in Washington and I walk past many quartz veins. I'm not always looking for gold, bu when I am, it's hard to stop and believe that one of them might actually have visible gold in it, especially when I go by so many that must be barren. It helps to have a lead like you did, but I'll have to be more thorough in my examination in the future.
Like the videography style and I also watch abandoned and forgotten places and the two compliment each other as to content. Glad that I have been led here.
was looking at sledge hammers earlier. (big and small) huge piece of quartz on a claim sulfides rust all over it. probably weighs more then me and you out by randsburg ca. see what happens. have a good day
next time, since you have some water right there, bring a gold pan and pan some of that dirt that was under that vein. See if there is anything in it as well..
Living on the edge with your quartz and sledge. Not only was that vein amazing, but we dont have mountains like that over here in South Carolina. The next time you go up there please give us a look at that ledge and the valley and mountains. We have a beautiful country. Please help keep it Free. Cheerz🥂
Nice video Jason. Thanks for sharing.I got a MD 20 falcon gold detector no so long ago and I've found that it will detect pieces even smaller then the sort of pieces you unearthed .Not only that, it does have some penetration thru quartz .I reckon it may have been a really useful tool in that situation .I feel pretty sure it would have detected some gold in those quartz zones.Just food for thought,
I'm 64 and that's exactly what I do now. I have switched from Highbanking creeks to climbing mountains to do Hardrock prospecting. Very tiring but exciting!
From someone who knows nothing about any of this stuff I have a question: What happens if you run a metal detector over that quartz? will it pick anything up? will it bleep at you constantly with false positives? etc
Would you have been able to detect those small pieces with a Garrett carrot (pinpointer)? I'm sure the Minelab Gold Monster could detect the smaller ones, possibly. Might be a good idea to bring one with you when you go up next so you can find the quartz ore that contains gold and carry it out, without having to break em all up on the side of the mountain and possibly losing gold or missing it. You should probably also scoop up a lot of that dirt in the surrounding area, as a lot of the gold likely was loosened and fell out of the quartz over the millennia. (These are all things that I'm sure you've already considered or tried)
Nice sized bits of gold. Looking forward to the next video.👍💚💛❤ if it's loaded do you intend getting back up there to mine it? Would be worth getting a lift from a helicopter.
I'm wondering if you found the gold on the foot wall is because gold is heavy and when it traveled threw the lava it sank to the bottom so that might be why on the hanging wall there is just bull quarts but the minerals and gold is heavy so its on the foot wall..
Seeing as the vein is relatively horizontal, is it common for the gold to sit by the foot wall because of gravity as the hydrothermal fluids set to quartz?
I know i'm not Jason , but reading your comment , those different layers of quartz solution would have been deposited at different time periods , possibly separated by hundreds if not thousands of years , and the foot wall deposit was probably a richer event , anyway i love his vids i've learned a lot for that reason i keep watching , cheers mate .
@@jessewilson8676 really? i have a lot to learn, i presumed the bedrock was already formed and hydrothermal fissures forced their way through during the volcanic action post rock formation.
@@AurProspector - I don't think Jesse was saying otherwise. Just that the orientation of veins can change as an area is folded or uplifted, or what have you.

I don’t see, where he had that much “gear” he was carrying, … between a miners helmet, a 3lb hammer, prybar, sack, to put the quartz/gold, into, … what? Probably less than 8lbs? Does not feel anything near our infantry’s 60 plus lbs rucksack marches, … who are just ordinary men doing extraordinary things set before them, … so I do not understand what you are talking about, please, … so, … by all means, elaborate, …

@@jimfurr.3 Yeah :) I love it when he eats the beans and won't apologize for being messy.
Man your 1 crazy dude working at them heights
Thank you for this video! I've watched lots of your vids but this 1s a field trip!
Black sounds like magnetite..silver?
@@thomasackerman3995 Well, silvery LOL, I don't think there's any native silver around here
My first thought when I saw you drinking that water is that you haven’t done much hiking. But as I watched your video. You know what your doing and I learned a ton from you. Great Video
Best video yet! Really enjoyed this one especially! Be careful and God Bless!
Seeing you strugle up there is actully pretty funny😂

Was going to mention the same thing, that & a good pack (for samples) , 20oz rock hammer, 10x loop, & snacks for day tripping..
3:29 first sign of quartz float.
8:04 found the vein.
Interesting, when I playing with quartz piles as a kid I was told it has to be iron pyrite in it and not gold.
Thank you for wearing eye protection, see it to often people smashing on rocks with steel tools (or other rocks lol) and no eye pro on. Just asking to lose an eye eventually. Great video man! Learned quite a bit.
I found an area that has a lot of white quartz rock, going to spend some time this next summer checking it out! Learned a lot from this video!
That was excellent , super educational !!
Have you seen any signs of sasquatch while hunting for gold in the areas you hunt for gold ?
How did you just called my Uncle Stinky Piet Jenkins? Just because he has big stinky feet, Hair all over his body and no opposing thumbs doesn't mean ...oh my god, Uncle Stinky Piet Jenkins is a sasquatch...
Great find. Can you imagine what the old timers went though finding gold in the deserts of Nevada and Arizona?
Nice find , your going be thinking about that spot all winter long , that’s for sure ! is that out of the cascade range ?
I follow a lot of mining and mining exploration channels out there on the RUclips. Your channel is unique is that nobody else is reaching the technical level of explanations you provide. Please keep going!
Great 👍 video thanks for posting that I learned a lot!
Great Vlog mate that was some Hike you had to get there hope it pays off for you
Thank you, Brother!
Thank you for sharing another good video..i like it and learning some things in the video..Be careful..God bless
Love this video mate.Thanx for show these for us! Chears!
Look forward to seeing the next video. Nice to see a gold prospector find gold ore in Washington. Nice job on the hike Jason.
I've seen these kinds of veins in Texas, growing up and hiking along small cliffs near creeks.
That's pretty cool.
Well I learned some good stuff again today! But what were those GPS coordinates again😀
where does one take a sample to to find out what equipment I need to recover gold from very fine silica sand.
Damn, that looks like a good time! Nice hunting!
Nice vid Jason👍🏻
Awesome! Really informative to see how you prospect. I'm now motivated to go search uphill from some dirty looking float I've found hiking!
Jason I'm over in Lolo Montana, soon I plan to take a trip to the west. You guys have a shop right ?
Excellent content, very interesting. Thanks for taking the time to share it & congrats on the find.
A huge thank you for this video now i know what i need to look for i have been banging my head against the wall for quite some time now.....this perfecly explains what i needed to know
How does one determine if a particular place has a mineral claim? And how do you file a claim if it does not?
USGS divided the entire country into a grid. Used to be each county has paper maps of the grids around them with all the claims set out; dunno if they ever digitised. So take GPS coords, figure out what county you are in, and then go find the mines department to get the maps of the area.
Jason, do you perform oil exploration as well?
did you sample the gravel fan or the next small creek
maybe nature has already concentrated the gold there for you to find :p
Wow amazing video!
Have you ever seen all the quartz veins on the way over to lake Chelan?
@@enriquecasillaspalacios3280 I haven't been over there in a long time but I know Chelan Butte had a few prospects back in the day

cool episode Jason :) nice vein find and some nice rocks to take home :) can't wait to see you smash them open :) should make a fun video too :)
Looks like the brown rock to the left has been cut before at 5:49
Like the videography style and I also watch abandoned and forgotten places and the two compliment each other as to content. Glad that I have been led here.
was looking at sledge hammers earlier. (big and small) huge piece of quartz on a claim sulfides rust all over it. probably weighs more then me and you out by randsburg ca. see what happens. have a good day
Really enjoyed tagging along with you... Do more please.
next time, since you have some water right there, bring a gold pan and pan some of that dirt that was under that vein.
Cheerz🥂
Thanks for sharing. Always learn something new from u ..
I enjoy the way you share your expertise
Nice video Jason. Thanks for sharing.I got a MD 20 falcon gold detector no so long ago and I've found that it will detect pieces even smaller then the sort of pieces you unearthed .Not only that, it does have some penetration thru quartz .I reckon it may have been a really useful tool in that situation .I feel pretty sure it would have detected some gold in those quartz zones.Just food for thought,
Have you found some rutilated quartz?
How do you get those little pieces of gold out of the rock?
NOTHING LIKE THAT FRESH RAIN & SNOW WATER BEST PART OF THE TREK!!🙏🇺🇸💕
Definitely a young man's endeavor .
I'm 64 and that's exactly what I do now. I have switched from Highbanking creeks to climbing mountains to do Hardrock prospecting. Very tiring but exciting!
From someone who knows nothing about any of this stuff I have a question: What happens if you run a metal detector over that quartz? will it pick anything up? will it bleep at you constantly with false positives? etc
I can't wait till next video I want to see it now
Good to see you out in the wilds.

Fun prospecting trip Jason!
Thanks buddy

Use a sdc 2300 minelab, that machine finds fly shit size gold in rock and all positions
I like how u simplified the geology terms for stuff id have to take notes still though n then re watch it again few times
Dude that's awesome!! There's piles of quartz in the woods behind my property!! Now I know what to look for!
Seeing as the vein is relatively horizontal, is it common for the gold to sit by the foot wall because of gravity as the hydrothermal fluids set to quartz?
The quarts was likely vertical when first formed.
@@GrooberNedJardine i didn.t realise this either thanks
@@AurProspector - I don't think Jesse was saying otherwise. Just that the orientation of veins can change as an area is folded or uplifted, or what have you.
Way cool video Jason! Looked beautiful up there! and that's some dang good gold you found there!
