and is the best fuck the rest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...ok but who wrote[play it first--i think is ''old''who will never be also fresh like new reborn human]this lead?!!
A version of "Louie Louie" performed by The Clash was released on the Louie is a Punkrocker vinyl bootleg in 1977 and this photo was taken before Topper joined
The original is actually easy to understand. It's by Richard Berry ,who wrote the song, with his band The Pharoahs, from 1957. It's on YT. Cheers. The funniest part about the song is it was originally a B-side. The B-side of 'You Are My Sunshine'.
If you want to know the words buy the songbook. This is rock and roll and hearing the words or them making any sense is not necessary. Like abstract painting doesn't have to be a thing.
Louie louie oh baby we gotta go Louie louie oh baby we gotta go I'm walking down, see no see That's my girl That's my girl Hey hey hey That's my girl Walking, walking Looking for, some girl That's my girl, my girl That's her, I see her! Louie louie oh baby we gotta go Louie louie oh baby we gotta go Come on Louie we can go ahead Doing what she said What can what can I say I say what can I say When she said: No no no no no no no no She could comin, no no.. Louie louie oh baby we gotta go Louie louie oh baby we gotta go Hope that helps
yeh mate! I absolutely love the Mesceleros!!! Been meaning to get his 'Earthquake Weather' album and other collaborations for quiet some time. I never get sick of the Clash.
greatest band ever st anns warehouse rocked april 2002 it hard to think he gone 10 years now miss his music that he could have made him with the mescalarous if i am spelling it right was a great combo we could of had alot more out of him but we all did it drugs but god thought it was his time for him to come home R.I.P Joe Strummer Our Elvis the kids of the 80's
Very cool photo, very cool song..I love this version from THE BEST (punk rock) BAND!!!! IT ROCKS!!!!!! Joe's voice+guitar+drums+bass....AMAZING!!!! Mindig Lewis "Louie Louie" xDD Hamilton jut eszembe erről a dalról. x))) Őt utálom, ellentétben a dallal. :) "C'moooon.." Great performance!!!! R.I.P. JOE!!!!!! PUNK'S NOT DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!
To - Andrew Leibs Wow--never knew they covered this! They didn't cover it..they mostly played it as a rehearsal number, rarely in gigs. To - John Stalvern why was topper never in clash photos? This photo was taken before the mighty Topper had joined. The first album cover also only shows Joe, Mick & Paul for the same reason. Terry Chimes drummed on that album, but he wasnt really an integral part of the band. Only after Topper joined was the band complete. In every sense. And, what a band.
to +pike606... Topper had not joined the band yet, when this photo was taken, its a very early one. The song however, DOES have Topper's amazing chops on it. What a drummer.
Haha I'm 14, and when I saw it for the first time when I was five I absolutely loved the special affects and the jokes. You're right, too each his own man, haha.
the world goes on my friend and the ideologies must make the same, people can't stuck on the same ideas like 100 years ago, this is the only way to make our world better
louie louie was written by chuck berrie's cousin, richard (featured as a character in that lousy flick "back to the future") in the late 50s. sax heavy in Bm, it was an attempt at capitalizing on the calypso craze of the time. it became one of the most covered rock and roll tunes of all time. the kinks, the kingsmen, paul revere and the raiders, the sonics, toots and the maytals covered it among many others. it became a mainstay of 60s rock/pop worldwide. type it in the searchbar, be amazed!
Lifelong Clash fan but first time listen to this. Amazing! Great guttural performance by Joe and typically brilliant work by my guitar hero Mick. What's the history to this recording please?!
The Kingsmen version is superb, for sure. Original too. As for The Clash's cover, to be honest they never really played it that much, it was a tune they used to crash through in rehearsals before a Gig (they also used to like doing 'Time is Tight' as a warm up tune too) Nevertheless, this is a pretty powerful rendition and shows how much raw power and riff the band could generate. Had they chosen to perform this song live on a regular basis, and perfected it, they may have gone on to 'own' it.
Appears in the simpsons when Homer and his family are in that boat and then they "kill" the cocodrile. The episode is called Kill the Alligator and Run.
This photo was taken before Topper was in the band. They didn't really have a drummer at the time. Terry Chimes played on the first album, but wasn't really an official member.
One of the most covered songs in rock history, yet each one is so different and enjoyable for different reasons.
I think it is actually the most covered song ever
@@kevinfrank8164 Nope unfortunately, that title goes to Yesterday by the Beatles...
When you cover a song it should sound different and not the same. Make it your own
Totally agree
If you were ever in a garage band, this was the first song you did - just 3 chords!
and is the best fuck the rest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...ok but who wrote[play it first--i think is ''old''who will never be also fresh like new reborn human]this lead?!!
Tanes Ofilosmou Richard Berry - You're welcome ;-)
this and you really got me
+KURTCOBAIN LAYNESTALEY Yeah but do the solo ahah
True
Definitely the best version of louie Louie Everything the clash touched turned to gold.
it was good, but not better than the Sonics, Motorhead, or Black Flag!
A version of "Louie Louie" performed by The Clash was released on the Louie is a Punkrocker vinyl bootleg in 1977 and this photo was taken before Topper joined
This is one of the most important and famous songs in the history of music!! everyone has sung it..!!
The clash were great and this is definitely the best version of louie louie
The best version of louie louie without a doubt.
i love the phrasing he uses “oh baby” perfect
RIP Joe Strummer. 9 years ago this day :(
...And I thought the original version was hard to understand.
The original is actually easy to understand. It's by Richard Berry ,who wrote the song, with his band The Pharoahs, from 1957. It's on YT. Cheers. The funniest part about the song is it was originally a B-side. The B-side of 'You Are My Sunshine'.
The most understandable version probably is the 1979 Motörhead cover
The original version is easy to understand. What's hard to understand is why you would think The original version was by the Kingsmen.
Carl Rudd well it’s most likely because the original didn’t spark an FBI. investigation
If you want to know the words buy the songbook.
This is rock and roll and hearing the words or them making any sense is not necessary.
Like abstract painting doesn't have to be a thing.
Pure classic punk. Love it.
Thanks for posting...I love this band, saw them LIVE...love this song too, never knew they covered it...so let London Burn !
How I miss you guys......
I'm brazilian The Clash is my favorite band, I ALWAYS WANTED THE LYRICS FROM THIS VERSION got a feeling that Joe says "that's my girl" but not sure...

That's my girl, my girl
That's her, I see her!

Oh I get it now. WA is the only state I've been to. It's awesome.
David Fincher is a genius, and so is Nolan. I love The Social Network and I love Nolan's depiction of Batman.
Boom this is beautiful

Cool. And I agree with you.
