24:01 Almost spat out my water when DLSS Auto lost you frames compared to it Off. I will never *ever* use any sort of dynamic resolution setting, it's just absurd.
it shouldn't since interlaced rendering is less taxig and is the setting that will give you more net FPS. DLSS also raises your FPS. Were you in the city when testing this cause that's the most CPU bound aspect of the game (so far) so your metrics may be skewed@@ImurTuta
It wouldn't solve the micro stutter as it's NPC related, which means engine related. If you lock your fps to 30 fps, it actually worsens because 99% of the time it plummets due to awful frame timings. The engine is lagging so badly from it's own game that it's too slow to react to your cpu lol. I should check the GPU and CPU utilization charts actually and test the game in the royal capital... I'm sure they both aren't maxed out and it's waiting on the game itself to get patched. Actually runs everything maxed out at 3440x1440 on my 7900 XTX, and it seems like the gpu has extra juice to spare because it's not even running WARM... And hitting 70 fps, with 99% frames being 50... When standing still in royal capital (not the 1st town). If I start running around it goes to around 40-60, and the 99% drops to like 15-30 lol. Dynamic resolution won't help because it's not CPU nor GPU related, thus lowering resolution to get more fps actually won't work. I hypothesize that there's a bug in the game's rendering or shader, that is causing massive latency fluctuation, since the shader loading took like nearly a minute to start the game.
Thank you for the TLDW and showing what are the heavy hitters to FPS. Can't stand other FPS guides just giving a tutorial on what each graphic settings do to the visuals

played this game over 180 hours no frame rate problems at all 60fps always no matter where, and all of a sudden my fps starts dropping a lot idk whats the deal
(3070) I'm finding that DLSS looks particularly bad in this game while giving me a negligible fps gain. Turning down shadows to mid, rendering mode to interlaced, and image quality a couple of notches got me about 20 fps (edit: increase, not total).
The new patch that's coming is supposed to fix DLSS. Apparently it's not even working properly. There's a fanmade patch for it, but I don't know if that'll affect my game and I can't risk it as a creator :(
I have a RTX 3080 and i9-9900k. I tried playing on 60hz and 100hz. When I' m in the city, no matter how low I put my settings, the fps will always be 50-53. Cpu utilization is 56% and Gpu is 43%. I feel like, if I want a 'decent' experience, there is nothing I can do, except either upgrade to a 4090 and upgrade my cpu (which I don't want to cus I feel like it's powerful enough to run most games still in 1080p no problems), or just wait for a patch that hopefully fixes performance by a mile (if that ever happens) .. Good thing I got so many games in my backlog, because right now, this game is NOT fun to play on pc for me :P
i have a ryzen 7 5800x and a rtx 4070 and most of the time with all settings maxed i get 40-65 fps but my gpu is used 50% and my cpu is used 44% is this also a game bug because i didnt have this issue ever since i built my pc with any game
having a nightmare trying tog et this palyable at 1440p with a 2080 14700k cpu. your iinfo got it running playable although a bit blurry, but I can enjoy the game now, thank you
i don't get it, all the other games are running fine at 60 fps but this one cannot. my character's movement is fluid but when i turn the camera it's just.. horrible 12 fps or something it hurts my eyes. i tried every settings possible and nothing is working
Sadly I would have to refund this for now. I'm not gonna get another CPU just to play this game even if I have 2060. I did all this but only 2 fps raise stuck at 40-43fps. Lies of P, Banisher, BG3 etc runs pretty great with my current build. I will have to wait for a patch and your review so I can buy this again. So disappointing. Those indie games I mentioned, they are standard prices or less but are so much more optimized.
30-40fps; 3090ti+11900k... game feels like running through deep mud... Turning down dials just makes my system idle... Engine is just un-optimized; maybe a 10k threadripper would help; otherwise its kind of "meh". Wait for patch probably.
Too true. I mean... It's day 1 so OKAY I guess.. But I'll be annoyed if we go the entire weekend, let alone a full week, without some form of performance hot fix or patch
@@italianspartacus I find it sad, that we came to "Game not running well on day 1 is "okay"" But I guess it is what it is. Still hope they fix it ASAP.

I noticed this in my game too. I'm on a 4070 super. It seems to happen if shadows are turned down. I don't see it if shadows are set to max. I don't know if it's worth the fps tradeoff though. Still, kind of annoying.
DLSS settings work wonders, but totally destroys my ability to preview gear at the merchants as it's a blurry mess... Oh well, better that than stuttering in town for now!
i9 14 900k + RTX 4080 super everything maxed out, 1440p, no dlss, Ray tracing on, and I am running at 85-90 fps in Vermund.. Fighting monsters in open world I am at about 110-140fps with no spikes at all.. I think when I turn off multithread in BIOS, I'll get even higher fps, cause I think this game will make use from higher frequencies on lower amounth of cores. (not sure about it because I didn't test it yet) My cpu usage is at about 40%..
Changing video options wont help. The bottleneck is single core performance because the devs didn't utilize multithreading or the the GPU. additionally DLSS is essentially just AI upscaling and frame generation which you basically should never use, as by virtue of being dynamicly generated and upscaled it will inherently never look as good as just rendering at your native resolution and refreshrate.
got a i9 10850k 32gb ddr4 msi 3080, getting 20 fps in town 35 out of town randomly out of town will go up to 70 rarely. also game has become 144p looking even though settings aren't
Quick question. I have a 7700x and 7900xtx. I followed your guide and everything runs fine (as can be considering the state of the game) except I have screen tearing. Now I am guessing this is because I am currently using a 60hz 1080p monitor. I capped my fps to 120 and refresh rate to 60hz. I still get screen tearing, its most noticeable on grass and trees. I tried lowering the fps cap to 60 and it did not change much. Any ideas how to fix this? Maybe playing around with V-Sync?
@@italianspartacusThank you for the reply. I managed to fix it, but had to use a different method. When I turned on V-Sync the tearing was actually worse. My current monitor is shit (I am stuck at university for two more months so I have to use this cheap one), most likely has only FreeSync but I cannot even find the info on this monitor lol. Anyway, in the in-game settings I ended up lowering refresh rate to 59hz and fps cap to 60fps. This by itself did not fix anything. I also needed to go into AMD Adrenalin software. There I also had to cap fps to 60 and I turned on Radeon Enhanced Sync. That actually fixed it. Now I can actually put everything on High settings, except for shadows, they are at medium, with FSR on quality and I get clear 60fps in the wild and in small villages. Need to still test the capital, but it will probably drop down to 40fps there. Also, AMD Adrenalin also has image sharpening by itself, which can help if you feel like the in-game image is blurry. Finally, I also use custom color, increasing the saturation to 160%. Gives a lot more contrast and makes everything really stand out. :)
It can! Just that fan speed is indicative of load (well heat caused by the load) so your computer is running on all cylinders. A patch should alleviate it
Hmmm.. Have you set all the shadows to off and slowly stepped up the settings? Also maybe try turning shadow caching off then walk around a bit and turn it back on, might help? I'm guessing really unfortunately
@@italianspartacus thank you!!! I tried all of this before, but when I turned off cached shadows, I didn't think to move to a new location. Turning off cached shadows fixed my issue. I've had this issue on other games too, this piece of knowledge might be very useful 😂 Thank you so much!

Great video - these types of videos are great for all those people whining on reddit not realizing that if they change some settings they can thwart some of the issues they are having while waiting for performance/bug fix patches. -Machine

Just gonna go live in my HC BG3 run till it’s safe to come back out 😂
Thank you beta testers..I wait for couple of months..Step number one do not preorder games
Hahahahaha
Too late. Already refunded. What a shitty game release.
damn bro, this is a fantastic explanation. We really appreciate it :D
My pleasure brother!!
Two words, thank you.
My pleasure!!
Loving this game so far but I think it needed another couple months in the oven tbh. This game is NOT pretty enough to be running this poorly. I have prettier games that run way better. Wish Capcom had let the devs finish polishing it a bit more. Hopefully a big performance patch ASAP. Appreciate your work Sparty you've been putting in serious work for us
24:01 Almost spat out my water when DLSS Auto lost you frames compared to it Off. I will never *ever* use any sort of dynamic resolution setting, it's just absurd.
I stopped using dlss and fsr and went to progressive rendering, and the whole game got way smoother
There's something seriously wrong with the DLSS implementation. On Quality it's such a blurry mess.
it shouldn't since interlaced rendering is less taxig and is the setting that will give you more net FPS.
There's a shader setting in the Nvidia control panels manage 3d settings. Could raising this setting to 5 or 10g help with loading times.
I’m having a problem where the shadows are super shaky unless it’s on high, I can’t seem to find a combination of settings that fix it without
this really helped me out, game is so much more enjoyable now
I have a 3080 and ryzen 9 59000 x12 but this game makes my pc run hot asf.
Thank you for the TLDW and showing what are the heavy hitters to FPS. Can't stand other FPS guides just giving a tutorial on what each graphic settings do to the visuals
Yeah man no one wants to sit through a 20 minute video if they can just get the info up front :)

Yussss!!!!
DLSS causes weird texture stutter/artifacting for me, I don't really know if there's a correct term for it. Anyone else experienced this?
Rocks and some items have weird horizontal lines on them and DLSS on Quality makes it very blurry compared to not running DLSS.
@@TheShadowXFX Nah it's as if the models themselves are vibrating or stuttering whenever I have DLSS enabled regardless of which upscaling preset I use. I just turned DLSS and RT off and I'm getting 60-70fps with dips down to 50fps in the city. Outside of the city I get around 120fps
played this game over 180 hours no frame rate problems at all 60fps always no matter where, and all of a sudden my fps starts dropping a lot idk whats the deal
Absolute KING. Subscribed.
There's a fanmade patch for it, but I don't know if that'll affect my game and I can't risk it as a creator :(
@@italianspartacus ah thanks, good to know
The patch came out immediately after, lol. DLSS on quality (rendering mode progressive) is giving me another +10 fps and looks far better than before.
im having trouble where my game looks blurry all the time
I have a RTX 3080 and i9-9900k.
Good thing I got so many games in my backlog, because right now, this game is NOT fun to play on pc for me :P
thank you I've managed to make the game at least playable with your help.
Been watching for years. I love you, that quick graphics guide changed my experience dramatically.
Hahahah Glad to help!
unfortunately lowest or highest settings doesnt change anything for me. im always getting 45-58fps with 3060ti.
i have a ryzen 7 5800x and a rtx 4070 and most of the time with all settings maxed i get 40-65 fps but my gpu is used 50% and my cpu is used 44% is this also a game bug because i didnt have this issue ever since i built my pc with any game
With a 4090 there’s no reason you shouldn’t have RT on. If you’re CPU bottlenecked then RT won’t make a difference.
having a nightmare trying tog et this palyable at 1440p with a 2080 14700k cpu. your iinfo got it running playable although a bit blurry, but I can enjoy the game now, thank you
i don't get it, all the other games are running fine at 60 fps but this one cannot. my character's movement is fluid but when i turn the camera it's just.. horrible 12 fps or something it hurts my eyes. i tried every settings possible and nothing is working
Thank you for the tips! :)
why cant I turn off ray tracing?
You're on console? The new patch allows you to. If you're on PC, you can only shut it off from the title screen
I had to roll back nvidia bc current driver destroyed my fps for some reason. Roll back helped quite a bit.
OHHH shit really!? So you rolled one driver back?!
Thanks for the info!
Any time!
30-40fps; 3090ti+11900k... game feels like running through deep mud... Turning down dials just makes my system idle... Engine is just un-optimized; maybe a 10k threadripper would help; otherwise its kind of "meh".
Wait for patch probably.
How to increase FPS: wait for update
Too true.
@@italianspartacus
I want this game but think ill wait for an update. TBH if it doesnt happen till next month or after Ghost of Tshushima releases than ill be ok cause i just want that game again. Been itching to replay it
What causes all the shadow flickering @ 20:21 ?
I noticed this in my game too. I'm on a 4070 super. It seems to happen if shadows are turned down. I don't see it if shadows are set to max. I don't know if it's worth the fps tradeoff though. Still, kind of annoying.
4070 ti hitting 30 fps 1080p in the city. I'll see if turning stuff down helps at all. It's playable but such a change from the wilderness.
Thank you so much. Now I can enjoy the game.
my 4070 is fucking suffering..
my 4070! that shit can handle cyberpunk on almost max post PL istg
The Lord’s work 👌
DLSS settings work wonders, but totally destroys my ability to preview gear at the merchants as it's a blurry mess...
Oh well, better that than stuttering in town for now!
Love the vid and love the information. But its so sad this even had to be made. Capcom should be ashamed of themselves.
looks like we are gonna play dd2 at 1080p with RTX 4090 my boiss.
Hahahaha 720p gang UNITE!
Does DLSS Quality improve the picture Quality? Or does it decrease a bit of the Quality?
DLSS always decreases the quality, but the "Quality" setting is the best looking one.
Decreases a little bit but you gain FPS.
i9 14 900k + RTX 4080 super everything maxed out, 1440p, no dlss, Ray tracing on, and I am running at 85-90 fps in Vermund..
This Game has so much Performance Problems that i can't even play with 80+ FPS with a 7950X3D and 4080 :D but they work on a fix for performance.
this helped alot thanks man
Subbed, thanks.
Welcome aboard!!
Why no raytracing? I have a 4090. Still off?
Yeah dude. I have a 4090 as well, it tanks you hard
Changing video options wont help. The bottleneck is single core performance because the devs didn't utilize multithreading or the the GPU. additionally DLSS is essentially just AI upscaling and frame generation which you basically should never use, as by virtue of being dynamicly generated and upscaled it will inherently never look as good as just rendering at your native resolution and refreshrate.
got a i9 10850k 32gb ddr4 msi 3080, getting 20 fps in town 35 out of town randomly out of town will go up to 70 rarely. also game has become 144p looking even though settings aren't
i have a 1660… am i cooked?
more than likely brother!
@@italianspartacus im 12 hours in already damn it….
Oh then fuck it you're fine!! New performance patch landed today!
Man it's unacceptable rn. Im in bed rn and i took time off for it smh
I’m on a laptop, it’s not working
Quick question. I have a 7700x and 7900xtx. I followed your guide and everything runs fine (as can be considering the state of the game) except I have screen tearing. Now I am guessing this is because I am currently using a 60hz 1080p monitor. I capped my fps to 120 and refresh rate to 60hz. I still get screen tearing, its most noticeable on grass and trees. I tried lowering the fps cap to 60 and it did not change much. Any ideas how to fix this? Maybe playing around with V-Sync?
Absolutely! Turn that on and you should be good :) does your monitor do FreeSync?
content creaters need to do more TLDRs!!!!!
Got recommended specs but pc sounds like a jet engine. Can patches make it quieter? Sorry if stupid question
It can! Just that fan speed is indicative of load (well heat caused by the load) so your computer is running on all cylinders. A patch should alleviate it
I9 11th gen with a 4070ti and I can get like 30-50 fps in cities. It’s so sad but I’m holding out hope for a performance patch
my frame rate in the menus is like 2. i have more than the recommended hardware. It won't let me change my resolution. can anyone help?
Is Capcom working on fixing the game?
Or do we have to life with poor performance no matter our pc specs.
Nope! Next patch is due next week!
Man my 7600x be at 75 percent utilization in this damn game gpu sits around 65 percent
I set the games priority to high in task manager and noticed a big jump in performance
My gpu keeps bottlnecking but my cpu is being under used. I have ryzen 7 7700 with 4060 ti 8gb
Thanks for this!
Motion blur can big time mess up your fps
Nvidias Official Recommendation is to turn V-Sync on ingame if you have a Gsync Monitor. Why is this?
Any chance you know how to get rid of or reduce the amount of flickering shadows? Every environmental shadow is flickering like crazy
@@RedBeard26 glad I saw this i'll check this out. Unplayable if my eyes are burned out of their sockets or migraine just from playing...
Im running on 5800x3d and 4090. 4k max settings and my only frame dips are in big town. I'll try your settings. Thanks
Same except I switched from my 4k monitor to my 1440p monitor and it's been solid all around
