I work for an engineering firm ( Client side), our IT consultants are big techs from India. If we escalate simple issues to any critical issues their resolving times are hours, days at max week. Whereas we engineers take weeks to months to resolve. Because, they pay big numbers per dollar for IT outsourcing, they expect to resolve the issues within no time. Obviously, managers will pass the pressure to team members. Feels pity for those people who work in IT or in any field in India. But with my experience what I noticed is, if you are on the client side you have the command as well as flexibility whereas consultants are under constant pressure no matter which field (IT or ENG) and in any country ( have seen our local engineering consultants too) RIP to the young girl.

Its happening in most of the organisations and MNCs but they ensure that those matters will not reach to outside public. Its all about some set of toxic managers existed in every organisation and MNCs. They treat employees as slaves to them. Possibility that she got some inherent health condition which triggered the heart failure and the stress at work could have triggered. But the EY may not be entirely responsible. However, there is toxisity existing in the software companies especially in those top consulting companies. Because their ways of working is way different than normal companies. They expect you to set your own goal and sometimes they exactly do not know what is the expectation but push the candidate work harder.

She joined only 4 months back. How can 4 months of work kill her? There is always option to quit. Possibility that she got some inherent health condition which triggered the heart failure and the stress at work could have triggered. But the EY may not be entirely responsible. However, there is toxisity existing in the software companies especially in those top consulting companies. Because their ways of working is way different than normal companies. They expect you to set your own goal and sometimes they exactly do not know what is the expectation but push the candidate work harder.
