I do like the Peugeot 508 Estate BUT, rear passengers better not have feet as the front seats, even in their highest setting are soooo low it's nearly impossible to get your feet under the fronts. Merde :/
Well done Skoda with accessible foot space in all models 👍

It is not just you, it has been acknowledged by the VW brand bosses as well and the earliest buyers who really noticed that emerged around 2012. Very very slowly, people were getting used to this shocking proposition in the subsequent decade. Škoda has longer queues, better reviews at almost everything, and unsurprisingly better profit margins than the VW brand.
VW should refocus and create the real People's Cars again. Or it should just use all the know-how and design of Škoda that is ahead, and try to add something. For example, if they really want to preserve their being higher class than Škodas, the Škoda Simply Clever should be beaten by Volkswagen's Doubly Clever and Audi's Triply Clever. But it is not necessarily easy LOL.

Czech Republic is really trying to make a name for themselves in the auto industry. Im all for it. Right off the bat: the dimensions. I like the overall width of this estate. Makes it look more robust, and of course aggressive. I love the options that Skoda is offering for their customers, because it's all about that price point. Maybe this wagon is the way to go, or maybe people would prefer the all new VW Passat. Only time will tell. Great review. Thumbs up!

The best "Simply Clever" feature is retaining physical dials for the control and making them multi-purpose to 'declutter' the dash which everyone wants but they tend to go with all touch screen which I hate. That aside, I have a 2017 Superb wagon (which I love) and for the first time I'm thinking a new Superb might be worth the upgrade: that looks good. (Except for the floating screen - that's a trend I wish would die)

Was aware of the 2024 but, in September, purchased the ‘old’ Superb estate sel tdi with the dsg box. Several reasons: price, a £3k contribution from Skoda for the pcp finance and a £3k discount from the dealer, bargain, also didn’t want new, unproven tech, VAG hasn’t don’t to well in this regard recently!, didn’t need the extra space, who would mine is enormous. 3000 miles in and loving it, 60mpg on the motorway, no range anxiety here, very comfy and has all the features you need and no o& the advanced t3ch. A great overview of the new Superb Tish. It's very well equipped and has acres of space. It looks good too without being in your face. Again Skoda chooses function over form so it might not score a prize in the looks department it will certainly score very high in the practicality stakes. That it will be available in 4X4 trim is another plus to those who have to drive in inclement weather as well. It is a long car though and might need a couple of post codes to park it. I had a previous generation Octavia that only just fitted in my driveway so unless I find alternative parking this car may be off the list for me unfortunately. It would be interesting to see what the lesser trim levels get in terms of equipment. Many thanks for sharing.

Following the terrible winter of 2010 in the UK I ditched my Merc for a Superb Estate Executive 4x4 in 2011. I loved this car and kept it for seven years selling at a profit. I've since had a Superb Sport (ok) written of in a no blame accident and subsequently had two Superb S EL 1.5TSI estates. My last car is a year old from new. This is the perfect car for me, however I really dislike the trend for big screens as in this model. My 10" cockpit display gives me all I need to know most of the time. I don't think there is much benefit to the enhancements to change.
I know my dealer will come calling as I always have low mileage well kept cars, but I think I'll be keeping my 2022 Superb for a long time to come.
Unless I missed it there is no mention of an auto only model across new Superb variants in the UK and the auto gear change is added to the steering wheel.

The rear looks weird and I see that so often these days with newer cars. They can look good from the front, but from the rear is just weird like this one.
Personally I dislike monitors in cars, and I'd especially want an analogue cluster like they used to have. Too much shiny shine and bling things look smudgy very quickly so it's very impractical in a car. You could see some of the smudgy buttons here 5:01
Personally I own a 2016 Skoda Octavia Scout and I still feel that's one of the better Skoda's. I feel so many of the newer cars try too hard, and my car has got pretty much all I need. The only thing I'd want is heated steering wheel because there winter 8 months a year where I live, so would be nice to ditch the gloves sooner lol

0:18: "...sit on the new MEB platform...". NOPE....the VW MEB platform is only for electric cars.
Superb is sitting on the MQB platform.

I never understood why buyers of new cars cared so much about fuel consumption. The cost of fuel is so small compared to the giant depreciation of the car.

I guess when you’re leasing it, you don’t really worry about the depreciation. I know what you mean though, I’ve always thought that about the £40K+ tax

      There are a few reasons
      1. Typically the DSG has lower emissions than the manual.
      2. Demand - if there's minimal demand for manual versions the cost of design, manufacture, spares holding is prohibitive and would likely make it more expensive than the DSG.
      3. The arrival of electric and hybrid cars means that auto cars are becoming the norm and many are now learning on auto so aren't licenced for manual.

dsg gearboxes are so prone to failure the breakers around won't buy a car with a dsg gearbox because they can't give any warranty on them when they sell them

But would you buy a petrol car now that Europe are forcing us to go electric..? What about depreciation...? Can you sell the car in the future..? etc.. Maybe it's just a problem here in Denmark where a car like this costs £100.000

@@clever1313 I dont agree on this car.. if you what to do half electric then do a Hybrid. No one who wants to struggle with the cables unless it’s a fully electric. But besides that.. then it’s probably the best looking superb ever made.. but unrealistic for the average earning people..

DON'T BUY, the car is a disaster! Full of software faults that make the car dangerous. Mine has been in the dealership for 4 months waiting for Skoda to pull their finger out and sort out software. I only drove it 5 miles before the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree with fa. Skoda are now giving full refunds. Question is,as so many cars around Europe have these faults and Skoda can't sort the faults after 4 months , did Skoda know? Are they guilty of knowingly selling un-roadworthy cars?
