Dont know what kind of rift Amna has with YumHaj. She used to praise them when it was on air! ( maybe for the trp for Haute,as Yumhaj used to be a keyword back then😅).. now once It's over they became very shallow, cheesy so on.
Wahaj has been phenomenal as Murtasim. Lollywood has seen so many Alpha males till now with such attitude, shwals but Wahaj has outdone it and brought international fame to this role❤❤
I’m really surprised that you guys didn’t even mention Abdullah Farhatullah in the honorary mention list. Sad indeed!! Baraan was a character that we never saw on screen before. And no one could have done it better than Abdullah. For me, he deserves a lot more recognition for playing that character with so much perfection.

Normally agree with you both, but this time i disagree with Talha being nominated. although I really liked him in jo bichar gaye, since then he has done similar characters; wabaal, mannat muraad and jannat say aage. At times his character in JSA was extremely annoying that i would just skip his scenes towards the end of the drama.

While you have just seen her in tere Bin hum yumna ko Jugnu k zamanay say dekh rhy hain aur appreciate kr rhy hain . She has been winning awards consecutively and being unequivocally appreciated. Since you couldn’t remember a good scene of Yumna’s in Tere Bin, here are my top 5:
1. The whole MR sequence, she outperformed everyone. From the moment Meerab catches MK and Haya to the point when she’s walking on the roads restlessly.
2. When she catches MK in the havelli and tells him not to touch her.
3. When she apologizes to MK after following him and thinking he had another family. Her expressions changed 10 times in one scene, it was amazing.
4. When she flirts with MK in the chai, coffee and mirror scene. Her voice modulation was superb.
5. Her expressions in the dance sequence and candle sequence. She was so good, and screen presence was WOW
Yeah, and for the whole episode 46 and post-46, Aamna herself said that she had goosebumps…Meerab and Murtasim’s showdown was also very well performed…

My favourite performance this year was Yumna in Tere Bin! Girl performed the commercial heroine role so well - the flirting, the angst 👌🏽 and especially her performance during the MR plot made me speechless. I was very attached to her character even though she was given so little space.

I'm not understanding why so hate meerub character. For me meerub was difficult and have lots of variation and flavor. Yumna did excellent work as meerub. for me (wahaj, bilal from kuch ankahi, Ehteshamudin, sohail ahmed, sheheyar) and (yumna (meerab written not so good but she did phenonmal job), sajal, sabina, mawra from norauz, hareem) and winner are wahaj and sabina becoz they did something out of their comfort zone first time .. for popular definitely wahaj and yumna

Yumna Zaidi in the scenes during the Maryam track and post 46 was phenomenal. The chemistry that she created with Wahaj was because of her acting.

Sehar was really good in Fairytale. It seems like an easy role but the margin to overact is a lot and personally i've seen actors like ayeza and iqra going ott in such bubbly chirpy loud roles. But sehar was so consistent throughout she maintained the fun, comedy and romance.

Yumna in tere bin did a commercial role, it’s good acting but a popular role, I don’t know why ppl are confusing that with performances like nauroz & kabuli pilao. These 2 were not less than art dramas! Both actresses in nauroz and kabuli pilao, did characters that were extremely challenging & not commercial at all. They took a huge risk doing these dramas. They dropped their vanity completely. Absolutely amazing!
Tere bin was a commercial popular drama. Totally agree with amna and Hassan on their ranking.

Although Mawra wins it over Sabeena, Sabeena acting isn’t at the level of Mawra, Sajal or Yumna. She’s got a long way to go and I think Mawra was the one who came out of comfort zone as opposed to Sabeena playing a role where she’s fluent in that Punjabi already (no extra effort gone to learning it unlike Ehteshamuddin who wasn’t fluent and had to go out of comfort zone to learn the skill) and romancing an older man which we’ve seen many times in dramas. So my opinion Mawra deserves it and I hope she wins it for Lux Awards next year 🙏

Bilal deserves both critics and popular for ishq murshid
This year was undoubtedly Wahaj's year, not just because of his popularity but also because of his acting. He has portrayed polar opposite characters like Saad and Murtasim simultaneously. Both characters' body language, voice modulation, and mannerisms were entirely different. Murtasim became likable just because of how well Wahaj played the role. Aamna, you should check your own article "The rise of Wahaj Ali" where you already explained how different Murtasim's portrayal was from other toxic alpha males. Excluding the 46th episode, we can say Wahaj was phenomenal as Murtasim.
Coming to Saad, the scene after Saad's father's death where he cried in the car was one of the best-performed scenes by an actor in 2023. His conviction in emotional scenes was the highlight of "Mpht" and in "Terebin," it was an all-rounder performance, from portraying mass scenes to romance. In "22qadam," he is playing a cricketer character, and portraying a professional cricketer is not an easy job, but Wahaj convincingly portrayed it. The 5-minute PTSD scene after his accident stole the entire episode. With less screen time, he made a greater impact, especially with his portrayal as Junaid.
When these three performances existed, Aamna's indifference towards Wahaj questions her credibility now. As a journalist, being credible is important. If you can't stop discriminating against Wahaj, please stop using his name from now onwards.

No matter how much Aamna ji disagrees but vibes never lie. She definitely discriminates Wahaj from other actors for reasons ofcourse best known to her. When she wrote the article on him, ofcourse episode 46 of TB was not out so it made an impact on her thinking for sure eventually which is fine. I also feel since Wahaj never agreed to give an interview she kind of holds it against him (although many of her forever favourites didnt; Bilal, Sajal etc never appeared for a proper IV in SH). Last but not the least Wahaj is not a born elite neither does he speak in english effortlessly or without errors so I can imagine how difficult it must be for Aamna ji to place him at the top spot for best actor. After all Aamna ji and her morale/ethics/thought process can never be wrong or biased 😊
@@FarhaanBaig-pg1ou Yes thats understandable. Everyone has the right to like or dislike something and definitely TB had a problematic storyline more so after epi 46. However, SH should have refrained themselves from reviewing TB post that episode like another popular reviewing channel/reviewer did. But they continued reviewing and monetizing on it as much as they could. Point of saying this is dont talk or create content about stuff you dislike and SH went on making solo one hour long episodes where they reviewed TB( mind boggling actually given they had issues with the storyline and does question their credibility). I do remember once Aamna ji told that "ofcourse we will review TB since it has mass viewership so definitely we need to dissect whats causing all the noise".Anyhow moving on from TB, there is 22 qadam and Mein. The way Wahaj is portraying his character in 22 Qadam in the current track is phenomenal! ( ofcourse extremely intelligent ones would say that was pre TB and post TB he didnt select good roles). Contrary to popular opinion I feel both Saad and Zaid are layered characters and characters relatable to real life and within the boundaries of the script he did a good job ( disclaimer: this is my opinion and not expecting anyone to agree with it).

Wahaj Ali in today's episode of 22 qadam..phenomenal!! Aamna ji and Hassan you should have waited till 31st Dec 2023 to do these announcements. Although chances are high that you would still remain aloof to a lot of things..Not giving Wahaj the acknowledgement he deserves is something that is going above most of our heads. In trying to be FAIR to other good actors you are overseeing the most obvious winner of the best actor title( comical actually😂). Anyways , there is a reason why he is where he is today and that in itself speaks. On a closing note, 22 Qadam saved the best for the last..three cheers to the entire team 🎉🎉🎉

I bet if Meerab's character was played by any other actress other than Yumna it would have been most hated and bashed character of all time.. it was only and only because of Yumna that Tere Bin sailed.. Meerab's character was so badly written, flawed , without any proper dialogues and shear idiotic and it's truly because Yumna is a great actress she performed , with her eyes , her charm and flirting somehow made Meerab likeable.. on contrary Murtasim's character was very well written and given so much scope.. she built chemistry with Wahaj when many people like Hania and Ayeza failed because she is a excellent actor and specially when the whole MR (47 episode ) fiasco happened then too tere bin survived because everything was put on Yumna's shoulders.. A actor should be awarded also when script fails them but because they are so good , they make best out of worst 😅😅😅

Best actress: Aiza khan
I don't know why but the way they ruined Murtasim's character took away from Wahaj's performance (at least for me!). I'll definitely go with Bilal Abbas, Hamza Sohail, Khushhal Khan, Ameer Gilani, and Ehteshamuddin Sahab for best actors. For best actress: Mawra Hocane, Sabeena, Sehar Khan, Kubra Khan and Ramsha Khan!!!
My list based on performances in a leading role. I think all genres should be presented for leading characters, as Neem was led by a negative character, and Chand Tara was led by comedic characters.

@@Zeya_Khan the problem is, when I think of Wahaj I think of Basim, Jimmy, Rumi, but I just don’t think of Murtasim 😬. He’s phenomenal but I just didn’t like Tere Bin from the get go. Not the performances of Yumna or Wahaj or the script and direction. It just didn’t interest me. But, there are many more actors I would consider for both lists. Maybe if I chose my top 10, Wahaj would make it on for Tere Bin. He topped my personal ranking for last year because of Rumi

Bilal as Fazal is complicated .. if not performed correctly it would have looked cringe.he gives the right expressions needed not more or less. His body language, dialogue delivery, his smile everything is on point.

According to you Bilal's performance of just 10 epi more empactful then wahaj 's 58 episodes work .
You might be a very blind fan to say wahaj as murtasim acted better than Bilal as shahmeer and fasal baksh. Murtasim surely had mass appeal but it's definitely not one of wahaj's finest performances.

@hassan I disagree with you. Best actors don't have to be in the best dramas. I totally agree with Amna's list. Sohail Ahmed and Ali Rehman nailed their performances, if the drama lost your interest it's because of the script or director not the actor!

Honourable mentions - Farhan Saeed and Usman Javed. Farhan because without any police trainings or related project workshops, he managed to pull off the character and body language of a police officer effortlessly, including the fight sequences. We should appreciate that. And Usman Javed because despite being a new comer, his performance was brilliant, and managed to stay head to head with the ASP.
I was searching for such a comment . I completely agree with you . Being a FS fan , I liked his performance as ASP Arsalan . Farhan did a great job . Though I was disappointed with the ending .

For me the best actor of 2023 is Wahaj Ali (Tere Bin) for the impact he created. Also include Bilal Abbas (Ishq Murshid) on the list for the same reason. And I think as a lead he's the best actor of his generation. Most versatile. btw, from critics point of view, Ehteshamuddin (Kabli Pulao) was outstanding.
Totally agree with the actress list. Though, my all-time most Favourite is Yumna. But I think she had little scope to showcase her acting talent with the character Meerub.
