Good job for the judge who wasn't having his crocodile tear's for himself, not the precious life he took. When I was younger I would take it out on my own stuff or a wall, lol. That's crazy attacking someone or something defenseless over a temporary emotion that can have a permit effect.

I agree. Also, he sees the offence as "situational", like it was an exception. I don't think so.... He strikes me as not able to control his anger in other situations and the judge was right to ask what makes the attorney think the defendant won't do it again.
@Lagoster There is a bunch of mitigating circumstances and factors he can pick from. Previous offences, age of perpetrator, learning difficulties, an offender who suffered abuse as a child. I work in law and thought the lawyer's arguments were weak.
I’m not sure I agree 100%, but there’s NO question that is a possibility. I wouldn’t risk it…prison for life. Take a child’s life, beating him to death…how can it be anything other than life in prison no parole…or capital punishment would even be better. If the kid was willing to give his life for Austin, why can’t he just do a life sentence and not cry like a little beotch.
@evonne315 you are absolutely right. Probably the reason his mother gave the authorities all of the incriminating information on her son flippantly saying he was blonde and 16 and would get out of it, and the other things she told were because she couldn’t get through to him and feared he will do it again. If he gets injured in prison, it’s likely because he initiated trouble
So true… I was a child of abuse … real abuse … still alive today!!! It didn’t ☠️ me… my boy is 20 years old I remember spanking him not even a real spanking…. I felt so bad doing it never since… today I raised the best young man who never disrespected me …yeah to beat lil tiny body to ☠️ that deliberate … dang that’s lots of anger bottle in !!!
NightNight58 that’s normal for lawyers to defend the one are actually are guilty. Heck if the lawyer knows his Clint is guilty they won’t say they are. Since it’s they job to help to defend
Yes I agree with the appeal, definitely the wrong sentence. Appeal it and hopefully change it to 70 years without parole. 25 years is a slap on the wrist. Bullshit sentence.
That’s definitely the reason, plus he probably know that. He might get his ass beat in prison other inmates, because there some prisoners do not take kindly to child killers or paedophiles.
I think the phone calls says everything. He's not sorry. If he was he wouldn't have said those things. Someone who's sorry for taking a life doesn't brag about how all they have to do is cry.

He's sorry he got caught. He's sorry he's gonna be somebody's bitch in prison. This is what happens with so many of these thugs. They're proud to show no mercy toward helpless people and then have the nerve to beg for mercy.

What a cowardly thing for him to do to that child who wouldn't stop crying. He probably did something to cause that child to cry like that. That's when judge told him he would not be eligible for parole. That's disgraceful. He should punch a wall really hard. I bet after that his girlfriend broke up with him after beating her son like that. It's just cowardly.
"He beat his girlfriend's little boy to death because he wouldn't stop crying", after I heard that, defendant was out of my vocabulary. No excuses, no nothing, you are just a crazy man who deserves nothing less than spending the rest of his life in jail. Just imagine a 2 yo kid crying and this man hit him so much and so hard that he killed him. It's unreal.
Sad,,, so ,so sad!! My mother taught me that babies cry for three reasons. Pain, hunger, and attention. Also that if you listen closely, you can hear the difference in the cry. I passed this on to my children and every new parent I could.
This young person has been allowed to do whatever he wanted since the age of 2. A lot of people who should have parented him correctly are equally guilty of that little boy's death.
Yeah the defense was weak, I couldn't be a defense attorney. At that moment, the defense attorney essentially proved to the judge, jury, and prosecutor why his client should be in jail. In cases like this the defense attorney is just looking for anything to use as a defense. I'm sure they know nothing they say will make a difference.

He looks even more evil after the judge quotes that, I think killing of a kid should be automatic life in jail, Would people really change?
Yep! The kid comes in crying, and having teenage boys myself, I wanted to feel sorry for him. Then they show the baby that was killed and I felt bad for the whole situation, a kid killing a smaller kid. But then that quote was read, and I was like, "Holy cow! That little devil!"
