This is a lovely walk,it's one I couldn't do,so I'm glad you are doing it. That scenery is like Wuthering Heights! Those paved paths are a good idea. I've seen on tv. They are put in place to save the landscape. Hikers can stick to the path and not diverge off it when it gets muddy and thus widen the path and destroy a wide swathe of the very beauty they go to see. I've seen similar in the New Forest heathlands where a narrow path through heather gets motorway wide, all white sand, destroyed landscape.
Steven, I’m loving those rocks and the sky is stellar. Fascinating finds. Good point in that each trail reveals new finds. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Very nice and beautiful rocks comrades. The weather is very favorable (Sunny).. you're great A tramp in the hills.. Thanks for sharing. Have a nice day.
This is bring back good memories of my time on the navigation course. Had a nice ice cream at Fairhomes, and we were looking at the salt cellar rock doing map work. That was a damn good picnic spot to be fair. Thank you for taking us along. Fab video Steve 😊
Your quite right Steven, every time you and I start to film, a bloody airplane fly’s low overhead! Also when out in walking in the middle of nowhere you stop to have a pee, a bloody dog walker comes prancing along! Some lovely walking there mate, rough moorland, adventurous new track, tick infested bracken (lucky Karen wasn’t there otherwise it would have been another strip search), woodland and a lovely reservoir. Could I also say a very healthy looking lunch box, you even had an apple 🍏Well done a brilliant walk and an even brillianter film (yes I know there’s no such word as brillianter but I like it). Take care and always tread carefully. Mike 👍
Another beautiful hike! Quite windy at the top but absolutely beautiful! Great to see some fall colors... and great capture of the clouds. That South Yorkshire Moors book surely looks interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Spot on Steve mate, blessed with another beautiful day for a walk! Sun out, Birds out singing, route was a good one 👌 smashing views mate, and nice and quiet, just the way I like it too mate, atb Mick 👍
Lovely looking route even if it was tough. You wouldn’t have seen them Ring Ouzels if you hadn’t gone that way!! Brilliant spot mate. What absolutely stunning country that is!! Plant and machinery wasn’t moving much!! Trainer Man will be pleased 🤣🤣🤣 That looks a great book - was going to say just a Wainwright. And a gorgeous route down too - really beautiful - pity most of em missed it is they were looking at their phones!! Great to hike along with you Steven mate 👍👍👍
Morning Dave....glad you could come along...yes it was great to see the Ring ouzel as you dont see them very often...i think they were feasting on the masses of Rowan berries up there...Cheers mate.
Great walk mate , love it round there . Beautiful part of the world and all them people with their heads in their phones with all that beauty around ...... crazy
Happy Sunday Guys, going to watch along as I nurse a headache and work on a video for Kat's dad. Hope you are both well, have a great day, Ceri and Kat ☕️ 👍 🧭 🗺
@@atrampinthehills.841 yea we popped out early for an hour of fresh air, maybe again this evening. Absolutely agree, there is always something new to learn, even when exploring an old known, area 🗺👍🧭☕️
Hi Steve, I love Derwent Edge. Fantastic rock formations up there, I do like the salt 🧂 Isn’t it nice going for a hike when there’s not many people about ☺️
Another great hike in the Peak District. Love those airplanes flying over head. Mind you have to expect that so near to the airports! Early bird gets the free parking spot 👍that breeze sounds refreshing after a tough ascent! Cracking views from those Derwent Moors! Got to look after the people hiking their in pish trainers! 😂 good job you know the route, the path wasnt very discernible in places! Will have to venture into those parts again soon! Great vid 👍
Thanks...there were a couple of section that i had never walked before, but in the Peak district you are never far away from a main path...always pays to be the early bird...thanks
Not getting lost on that trail, plenty of signposts and never seen the bracken so high as it had been this year. Some of the trails did seem a bit on the faint side but great weather and real nice scenery, especially when you had it almost to yourself, until you got to the reservoir. You always get a cheery hello from the proper hikers but the tourists, are just that, here today and gone tomorrow, cheers Alan
Afternoon Alan..i have had a few walks lately where i have had to fight back the Bracken...yes some of those paths were a bit faint, i had to keep a close eye on the map...Thanks for watch mate
Hi Steve, Great walk and views, have been meaning to go back up to Derwent edge for about 10 years, loved the different colours on the hillside you get this time of year, loved the white trainer gag and you must have been invisible at the end of the walk LOL enjoy your next walk cheers nigel
Afternoon Nigel..yes its a lovely time of year to be out on the hills..oh yes the white trainer gag..you often come across them up there...Cheers Steven
Hey Steve, liked the bird song at the start of the video, typical that a plane then flew over as soon as you started talking 😅 lovely views, my legs often tremble after a steep descent too. 😊 I always say hello when I bump into people on a walk but I have had the same and some days no one seems to say it back
I totally understand. I've been in the middle of nowhere and had some great conversations but yes, the nearer to civilisation the less civil people are. I always greet fellow hikers/walkers. Sometimes I wonder if they are having a good day or not. That interaction with a stranger can make all the difference. Great vlog, new subscriber. I was up at Lost Lad and Back Tor about a month ago. Nothing wrong with the path. A few rocky stones but it's the Peak District not the Town Centre. There is always an airplane, always.
Hi, A tramp in the hills. Thank you for sharing. Wow...this image is like a movie scene....0:23...May I ask what the green box is? Natural birds chirping sounds are so peaceful to listen to. Another great video. I’m thinking of doing Derwent Edge next week, weather permitting, but parking up at Cutthroat Bridge. Thanks for the book recommendation too. Stuck that straight in the Amazon cart☺️
Nice to find some new things even in a familiar area! How do you like walking through the Bracken? Either you or someone else was saying it's pretty difficult- we have some around our area, but I don't think it's that think!! Loving the views and the interesting rock formations!! :) Nice book for hiking ... I like to buy hiking books too- don't have to only rely on the internet - lol!!
Hi Jennifer..i am not a fan of walking through Bracken as there could be Snakes about..and also Ticks...i have never had one latch onto me but my dog used to regularly have them on him..a real pain...thanks Steven
Hi I've only been in this area once in 2019 when there were British fell relays there. The water was running down the dam.
