Totally agree with your number one. The most valuable anything will always be the thing that has meaning to the owner. I have 60's ,70's, collectables and my first bought 1988 scrimshaw slim but my now 85 year old father gave me a 2013 engraved green with shamrock #1 for me. Cheers man

(Dice go with poker table.) A poker table was the prize.
I have a 1959 street chrome Zippo slim that belonged to my great grandfather. It has EAL engraved into it which is his initials. Out of the 11 Zippo lighters I own that one is my favorite.
Some of the Joe Camel Lighters were only available through Camel. You had to send in redemption coupons from cigarette packs. They were called "C Notes".
My Camel Zippo was the Firts one I ever Lost. Go figure I had to save 300 c notes to get one. Back then Smokes were $2.50 a pack. So that was a $750 lighter!
You were right when you said they don’t make em like this anymore. It seems to me that the quality changed around 2000. It was when they started nipping the corners of the spring cams. It’s also when they did away with Roman numerals on the bottom stamp. What happened. A pre 2000 zippo is far superior in quality.

@@bemseller5515 it will be stamped Niagara Falls Ontario on the bottom instead of bradford Pennsylvanian USA. There are lots of them in uk 🇬🇧 because they would order them from us instead of America. Canada and uk were always friends and trading partners.
I bought one of those and immediately returned it. It was too bulky and had no reach. It's hard to light shit with it. I ended up buying another arc lighter with a long neck that's intended for candles. they work alot better.
