Two things I think amazing about this is the fact that the Cores look like the Cores from portal 2 and one of the other things is when GLaDOS says “I can take a bath in this stuff” it actually makes sense considering the fact there’s neurotoxin on the ground everywhere
Actually, I'm pretty sure the cores are still the Portal 1 models. It's just that it's been so long, most peoples' memories of them from both games blend together.
This is not just an addition of RTX, they straight up remastered Portal 1. Man, I wish I had the appropriate rig to run it, I love what they've done. But I don't trust my GPU would handle the performance well. Wish we least get a version with fake RTX shaders or something lesser, so we can enjoy the remaster portion without needing specifed-specific-specifications.

They really did retexture many things and made them more colourful/ more lively when they should have remained gloomy and "dirty," as it was part of the whole atmosphere, which should make you feel like a prisoner. But the whole thing in itself isn't bad. Sure there are some hiccups here and there, but the whole is really not bad.
I gotta say I am quite impressed with how well the game runs for what it is, the graphics are insane. Thanks for posting this! I couldn't play this with RTX on my 1660ti hahaha! Thanks for posting.
Why though? Portal 2 had a very satisfactory ending. I am glad Valve haven't tried to milk the franchise with an unnecessary sequel like so many other game franchises do There's a large number of great mods and maps developed by the community for Portal 1 and Portal 2, many of them with their own storylines and some with completely new puzzle elements and/or art-style , so there's quite a lot of great Portal content beyond the 2 games

A game set in the past with Cave Johnson and Caroline still alive (could be doing testing for the prototype for the portal gun) and we get to play as Cave gets ill and dies and we can see Caroline’s upload and Glados’s development

Iirc they were developing a game based on it, but I can't remember the name), a game that tells Ratman's events, etc, but I think Chell's arc is over

Not to mention, RTX Remix has a game breaking bug with the sky_camera object where the whole world becomes part of the skybox and stops rendering properly, and Portal 2 is full of them.
I really like how the dark "metal" (un-portalable) walls look in this version. Like some sort of shielding material for scary high energy physics or something. Makes you feel like you are inside a oven!

I swear, in the trailer they don't even have portal opening effects enabled, the whole thing looked way more "off" Edit - okay buttons be lookin a little cursed tho Edit 2 - wow you can put turrets on buttons? That's new.
I’m old enough to declare that I played Portal 1 both without and with RTX and I enjoyed both. But with RTX the spirit of the first Portal is even more alive. I love it. I hope they’ll do Portal 2 RTX and Left 4 Dead RTX. And I’m waiting for Half Life RTX.
RTX Portal looks amazing! Except the portals tho, I don't like how they abandoned the dark blue. How hard would it have been to make it the same? You might say that darker colour cannot come from a light source, but dark blue is, surprisingly enough, a colour on the colour spectrum. It's completely amazing otherwise

I certainly recommend Portal 2 if you haven't played it yet and enjoyed the first game! Single player campaign first, then maybe try and get a friend to play through the Co-Op campaign. It's a completely different story.

Hi! I just used a mouse and keyboard lol. I did use DLSS 3 which can sometimes make mouse movements ever so slightly more floaty but that only usually comes across when playing rather than watching. I also did use motion blur which could help with making the flinging look more natural and organic. Oh well, I hope you enjoyed! :)
Looks amazing, too bad it runs like dogshyt without a 40 series card :-(. My 3070 was wheezing out 30 fps, not very enjoyable esp considering source engine physics work best at 60+ fps.
Portal rtx was underwhelming. I only had high hopes for one thing. I hoped they had done something cool with glados, maybe make it look more like portal 2 glados. I was going to play this, but I think I'll find a better way to waste my time instead.
Absolutely do not like how this looks I’ll stick with the original idk I’m a 3D animator and sometimes I feel like these upgrades in graphics are good but there is a lot I do not like about this n sometimes just prefer the old ps2 or even ps3 style games guess we can just wait 10 more years until they get the graphics right

Not likely. The RTX modder they used only works on early pixel shader graphics pipelines like directx 8.
