I watched this a couple years ago. Bought a blade, some G10 scales and orange liner, and made my first knife. I finally got the handle sanded a couple weeks ago and made a leather sheath. Thanks for helping me get off on the right foot in a new hobby.

This looks to be a very early knife build. You’ve come a long way in your tools, video quality and skill level in such a short time. Really cool knife.

You nailed this, man! Knife looks great and you did a great job covering all the steps. I've watched hundreds of videos in the last few weeks because I've been wanting to get into the game. Seeing your video confirmed I have all the tools I need to make it work and can handle the work it will take. Thanks so much and keep up the good work!

I’ve always wanted to do this. I had no idea map gas and an oven could harden steel like that. Super impressive demonstration. I’m definitely making my son something like this for Christmas. SUBSCRIBED!!

Excellent, as always, Alex. A no-nonsense, common-man approach to something most knife lovers think is out of reach. I like that you use equipment and supplies that anybody with the funds and a local home depot can find. One of the biggest barriers to entry for this (and many other hobbies) is the myth that specialized equipment is needed to be successful. You bust that myth every time you sharpen, modify, or make knives. Lookin' forward to your next video!

Your theory about more holes for a better bond with the epoxy is actually right on. Its like scuffing an intertube before you patch glue it.

Great instruction. I am just starting out and I appreciate your instruction. I am a teacher not blades but dance. I have taught for 32 years. I believe they have a lot in common. Dancing and the are if knife making. Crazy but they both need to be choreographed. I will share my first knife with you. Little bit different build. My friend is forging the blade rough. And I am building and finishing. I would really enjoy a lesson on sharpening only.
    Thanks again.

Thank you for the video. I made a knife and it came out pretty good, I haven't completely finished it. It needs a little sanding and a lot of sharpening. I took you advice and used the grinder to cut it out. I know getting the bevel for the edge is going to be a challenge, but I will do my best,
Again thank you for the videos..keep the coming.

This knife is very aesthetically pleasing to me. Particularly the elegant yet functional blade shape with the scandi grind and the lobed handle which seems very organically contoured filling to the grip. And the way it follows a smooth arc from pommel to point.

With a lifetime's worth of old files you can guess how I'm spending this winter. Just wish I could translate some of the products you use to those available in Scotland. Many thanks, Iain MacCallum.
