I have same truck it’s a 1995 Ford F-150 with a 4.9L engine someone stole the catalytic converter so it’s very loud but it runs great it has a 5 speed manual it’s really reliable it’s a good starter truck for a 15 year old
The wheels are aluminum, BTW. And to the haters, you can chase me in my M5ODR2. It's a great trans. It doesn't shift like a Mustang but it shifts every time.
Hey Eric one question i have 1995 4.9 4wd manual and the wiring harnes for the transmission its missing and i need somebody to sow me how the conectors goin exactly bc idk if u can help me whit that i gonna be so thank whit you ..
my buddys '96 4.9 runs almost perfectly fine except it WILL NOT start once its hot. he has to let it cool for 20-30 mins for it to start again. any ideas? it turns over quickly but doesnt even try to start. no spits or sputters, nothing
Well my ‘96 2wd, 5 spd, shortbox, no a/c, plain Jane truck with 2.73 rear end that I was the second owner of and maintained meticulously would be lucky to get 15 mpg, I’d love to know how this guy can get 22mpg out of this old 4x4
Well it can be bad but here's a question. What are you using your truck for. If you are just daily driving, hauling loads in the bed and the occasional light trailer than it is a pretty good transmission. On the other hand if you tow lot of very heavy trailers and beat up your truck than it is not good. In that case you would be better off getting the ZF
Jason Fulcher I have the identical same truck exc except for the bug shield and it only came in one gear ratio from the factory and mine gets 11-14 mph and usually 13.4mpg on the interstate at best. I have a friend that has the f250 with a 460 4 barrel carb and 5 speed and he gets 16 on the hgwy. Between me and 8 others that have same drive train we get identical mpg. Unless you regeared it, you may not be lying but you sure as hell are NOT sifterin with a good battery.
I get better mpg in my 302 4x4 5 speed about 15.7, the 300 6 same 5 speed about 12 to maybe 14. Both great trucks. Like the 302 better bc of the dual exhaust
I have one just like it and how dare you say 22mpg on the highway........ more like about 15 at best unless you have changed the gear on it. They are very nice trucks but forget about the economy because it just ain't happening and if it was garage kept then it wouldn't be such a rust bucket because mine HAS been garage kept and it has no rust
Garage kept has nothing to do with how much rust is on the truck. It has EVERYTHING to do with the environment that it is exposed to, winter state with lots of salt and sand, etc. Compare one truck from states like Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and one from states where there is snow and salt---no comparison in the amount of rust.
Here is what a truck looks like from Arizona that hasn't spent time in a northern State exposed to snow, salt, and sand: ruclips.net/video/iAwu8OfraNc/видео.html
2:57 "Hey, good lookin! We'll be back to pick you up later!" 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
I was blessed to fing a 5 speed with a 300 cu in motor-You couldnt chase me fast enough to give me anything else.

Great old truck? SORRY to see the 4.9L I-6 go. That engine had a timing gear instead of a timing chain which was the key to its durability.
Funny thing is that they stopped production of the 4.9 and the square body in 95. Alloy wheels.
love mine just hate the small mirrors

nice truck, is it still for sale?
It would get better gas ⛽️ mileage if it was the 2WD model it would get better gas mileage if it had the 302 V8.
Batter gas mileage if it is the 302 V8 and the Automatic transmission.
How much did you pay for it man??
I think like $3k in 2011. But I sold this car a few years ago after the shift fork for 1st and 2nd broke and I didn't fell like fixing it.

I would kill for 22 mpg. What are you doing to get that kind of mileage?
lying that ass off is what he is doing........
haha yea seriously, yea it gets more mpg than the 302, but not 22 mpg!

Jason Fulcher I believe the 302 gets better that the 300 6 as I have both of them

Robert Quigley lol even Ford advertised the 1981 F150 to get 22mpg more like 14mpg.
