everybody was on the band wagon to crush RUSH in the beginning but we all knew better...first album : killler 2nd album: even more killer fro that point on RUSH never looked back....thanks for the great music Dirk , Pratt & Lerxst....will be remembered forever...
you know it's a good tune when the hairs on the back of your neck stand out and the goose pimples on your arms pop up and a smile forms on your face....man what a great song
Obrigado RUSH !!!
Agree, John did some wonderful work on this album. It was such a brief time with the band and his contribution to this album is sometimes forgotten.....and then of course who the hell would EVER want to be the drummer in the same band that Neil Peart would also drum?!?! Damn, don't think many drummers would want that comparison held over them for their career! LOL! Thanks!
This is my band. For 36 years of different times that I was within, without , up and down, full and empty stoned and straight, hot and cold, empty and alone or filled with life, happy, sad but always completely satisfied over and over again with the Rocking poetry of life, the science of love and the electricity , excitement and exhilaration from my band, the music of RUSH..........RUSH.........Rush
still my favorite lifeson solo, after all the albums, there still isn't one that can beat this, second la villa strangiato. But this one just can't be beat.
I still remember the critics, especially Rolling Stone, savaging so much of early Rush albums....man, not everyone was feeling Geddy's voice back then....of course all us fans knew how amazing it and this band were?! Course as time went on, Geddy's vocals became, I guess more familiar to many of those who weren't on board at first....and now, it's difficult to find someone who wasn't a Rush fan from the beginning!? LOL! Great to hear from another fan! Thanks!
OMG, I have been a BIG fan since the beginning. "I said I played this song so many times before ..." From album to cassette to album to cassette (it kept getting taken from me! that's okay, nothin' wrong with sharing the love!)
Many people innitially sais that Geddy tried to emulate some high tone singers from 70's such as Plant or Steve Marriot. In reality his voice was very immature, but at the same time so natural.
This song is one of the best examples of Geddy Lee's AMAZING VOICE! He was criticized for his voice when Rush first came along, but today I think most people recognize that he was just the first "heavy metal voice". In the 1980's half of the singers in the business were imitating his voice, and this song is one of his best studio performances!
@MrMagsn Thanks, Andreas! Wow....haven't heard from ya in a while! Sorry I haven't been over for a visit...need to see what you've been up to.....still loving your work! Thanks again for checking it out and commenting.
Thanks, Chuck! Appreciate the support! Actually, yeah...been chipping away at that one slowly.....the epics are of course a bit more involved, not only in the design but certain technical aspects make working on them so much more time consuming. As far as the epics, did full "Shine On..." & "Atom Heart Mother"...."Echoes" will be next and then maybe I can push out "2112"...gotta make something special for it ya know?! Couple of other Rush vids coming too...take care!
Thanks MrMega! "Yes, you know that the hardest part, yes, I say it is to stay on top On top of a world forever turning...." This song has given me chills for the last (almost! GasP!) 40 years......great you liked the vid!
Oh, yeah....also of interest to note regarding the photo...I DID try and find one with John in the band, but man, pickings were slim for a nice one that would both work and was high quality.....I mean there's nothing! Would have been cool, I know.
I said I played this song so many times before. Every 7 or 8 years the melody keeps repeating. But the world is for ever turning and Im for ever trying to get back on top. I always start to play another. I hope I will see her face again. And if it would change one more time, I hope to play her melody again. RUSHFREAK
No problem, brother! LOL! Like I said, I really thought I'd get the question earlier, had kinda forgotten about and surprised it took so long to be asked......and what did I tell ya? "from a hard core Rush fan" no doubt! As for the description, most of us original fans are getting to the point where we can't see good enough to read anyway?! LOL! So thanks again for checking it....I have a few more Rush vids you might enjoy! Rock on!
Thanks! I love the tune as well....and yeah, the old days were breezy, and easy! ;-) Thanks for watching KCinTX....I'm thinking about adding this one to my list of vids for an update.
@AstralBlueDreams777 Wow, how cool would that be?!, and since I've borrowed their music they could certainly borrow my video...they could of course have it, it would be such an honor & without their incredible song the video is moot anyway! LOL! :-) Of the 4 Rush vids I've made, this one required the least effort.....just a few images and effects and that awesome groove did all the rest. Just happy that some Rush fans can maybe enjoy this old tune with a new coat of visual paint. Thanks!!!
Awesome comment.....so agree with everything! Need to check Heartbreaker now that you mention it...I'm hearing it but haven't heard the song is some time. Thanks for checking the vid!
@explorer5146 Yeah, it's kinda a one of a kind tune among Rush's stuff, but damn, this song this song just sounds better and better. Seems it would be a candidate for a song that some of those poor misguided souls who don't appreciate Rush might appreciate!? ;-) ;-) Awesome to know the prescription worked.....just don't overdose...this is potent medication!!!! Thanks so much....great to hear you liked the effort!
@lovemusic3657 LOL! Me too....I had a glass of wine working on it as it was almost finished and that was almost too much! LOL! ;-) Very glad you liked it! Thanks for the comment as well.
Like this album way better than anything else by Rush. Pure rock and roll. Agreed...one of the best guitar toned solos ever. Zeppelin's "Since I've Been Loving You" is similar in feeling.
"I said I played this song so many times before That the melody keeps repeating. Growing new ideas, flowing chords and notes, Like a mountain river bleeding. Well, I say as I look back at all the thoughts I've had, they reflect just what I'm learning. Yes, you know that the hardest part, Yes, I say it is to stay on top, On top of a world forever churning." (...) THIS IS A GREAT RUSH'S SONG... It's THE song!!!
No worries......was wondering what was up, thought there might be some YT tomfoolery about!?! LOL! Damn, dude.....I wanna hear you sing Here Again! Not the typical karaoke top ten! Peace to ya......thanks so much and good luck!
Naw, man, of course he wasn't....as I mentioned in the description. Guess you're referring to the photo of the band? Yeah, I just liked that picture......it's not actually meant to represent the actual members of the band at the time. It's cool though, I figured there might be a question 'bout it...most likely from a hard core Rush fan! LOL! Peace & thanks so much for the cool words for the vid! I've always felt the tune didn't quite get enough recognition.
Oh yeahhhh - yea yea yea......one of my all time favs as well. --> Doctor, I think my serotonin levels have been sufficiently adjusted. Mmmmmmm. What a feast for the senses!!!
Thanks Parker.....wow, just trying to reply to my most recent comments and, as usual, finding comments that I missed from months ago!? Strangely enough, I was JUST over at your channel checking that awesome "Silly Love Songs" remix vid.......anyway, not sure if I P.M'd you with this info though I know we chatted some time back.....please let me know if you want to discuss more, or again, or.....whatever! LOL! Thanks man!
Came to say all about love for this song and Rush.. 11 years later. Here Again. 🫡

All time classic song, by a true band, the stuff of legends. You can get lost in that solo. Fantastic!
