The Arktos one has good colors in my opinion but that's just because I'm a fan of teal, I also like the look of the bits in between the metal bc it looks like the tubes that connect to a central air unit in an old house which I think looks really cool in this context

I hate that in fallout 4 all pieces need to have matching paint jobs to get the benefit of the paint, because mixing and matching the models and paint jobs is what really makes the armor pop. I like to have a chrome helmet and legs, and make the chest and arms match, or make everything chrome and make one of the arm pieces really loud and colorful.
Ya I role with the settler faction so I try to keep it consistent with that faction with how I build my settlement and such. I love all the tools and stuff on the armor.
I actually like the Arktos Pharma and Firefighter paint schemes, and most other Excavator Power Armor paints because it's the "working man's" power armor. Having a selection of paintjobs that reflect various key industries in Appalachia really helps build its identity as the rival to RobCo's Protectron, which has multitudes of service modes to contend with.
The Settler Paintjob is great. It gives you different tools strapped to your chest and arm, grenade looking things strapped to your shoulder, and a pack on your stomach. (Plus it reminds me of an Iron Warrior from 40k”
I don't ever use power armor unless I'm going on a looting spree. I know from experience that you don't need it unless you haven't found a tree or a rock because deathclaws are insanely stupid and strong.
I ended a playthrough because I was high enough to stealth kill a mythic deathclaw in the middle of the Glowing Sea with a combat knife and no power armor or hazmat
Honestly the Settler paint scheme is my favorite one in the game. It’s not over designed or completely drenched in one color like most other paintschemes are, plus the stencils, tool “belts” and sparing use of paint really make it feel like a post-war survivor’s personalized suit of armor. Easily the best one in the game right next to the Excavator Bone Raider skin.
Additionally, those attractive hazard stripes make you look like a Iron Warrior from 40k, immediately boosting your cool factor and credibility as they’re clearly the best Chaos Space Marine legion 😎
I love the institutes paint job, I did a scientist build in fallout 4 that hated the wasteland and it’s lack of cleanliness so I exclusively used the institute as my base and tried to distance myself from the locals and their problems as much as possible. The white paint job and blue eyes paired with the multitude of synths I spawned in with the synth relay grenades was fun

Military paint is the one I use because I only have power armor for carrying copious amounts of purified water to Diamond City to sell in bulk and the extra strength from the military armor helps
The little strength boost is the only reason i have it on one of my PA sets. It's not horrible, but WHERE'S THE G.D. STAR?? Thing needs a star. It's bland without it.
I kinda like the Fire Fighter armor. I always wondered if there were any utility or light armor variants marketed towards first responders. Fallout 76 answered my questions pretty well!
thinking about it, if inside the power armor you can stand the heat and breathe better(as you can walk underwater for some minutes) the firefighter power armor might be a good option

The institute power armour paint job is literally just the winterised camo re-textured with the institute symbol on it.

I like the Green military paint scheme not many people are rocking it (when I played 76 about 8 months ago)
On the bright side, The Green paint is actually Titanium which increases your power armor health
Hazard stripes because I feel like an iron warrior
I actually like many of them and i generally go with military paint for my armours. Although i do agree with institute paintjob to bright and flashy

Arktos excavator suit slander is unforgivable 💀😂 I kid but it is one of my most used because I like the color scheme
Well, the Settler Vigilante scheme also evokes the Iron Warriors--which are suitably maidenless.

Me and my friends use the military paint so whenever we go fighting it looks like a whole entire army
I love all power armour. I literally think they're all just so cool.
I like the military paint on a set of T-60. It looks tough, utilitarian, like a walking Abrams. That, and the winterized coat!
As an rabid imperial guard fan, I cream at the sight of the military paint job
The military paint scheme holda more love than the others.
I do still love the design of the excavator power armour, still my favourite.
Institute is definitely the worst
Many schemes are crimes against fashion but only the Institue takes the extra step of hurting you for entering, exiting, using 3rd person, or just facing it
But if you stand in the sun, you can flashbang enemies who look at you in it
