Great presentation - this summer I started using black and blue Yum Dingers in shadows and low light conditions and switched to Green Pumpkin when the sun was high. Works great!
Bass man over there catching em all like Pokémon over there recently while I was bass fishing i caught a mega trout on some new bait i tried from Berkley here where I live there just smallmouth, stripers and perch so it helps watching this!
My first bass was on a black and blue was told oh u need a red but all day nothing even right in front of a fish switched to black and blue because of your video within 5 minutes got 2 back to back love your video bud thank you
My Dad wouldn't fish with anything other than a Green and White Double Colorado Bladed Spinner Bait. He caught bass by the tons. Vibra King was his only bait until they stopped making them. He started making his own version. I think that the fish could see the light color looking down, and the dark color looking up. Sure that the action of the Colorado Blades covered the muddy water. ;)
Tyler i agree thats why i bought 3 lews custom black combos the hook holder is on the lfs reel not the rod.. i always lose fish when i reel to fast on my other rods
Really wish I could ask my pa. He passed away when I was 14 he loved bass fishing. When I was born I was 10.5 my pa wanted to catch a 10.5 and have her mounted. Closest he got was 9.7 ... Now it's my mission in life to get that 10.5 lmb for my pa of course I'd get a replica mount. Awesome video brother.
That’s a pretty cool approach, we stop talking about clarity and start talking about visibility because that make much more sense. Dirty or not, if the light doesn’t go thought it’s dark anyways 🤫
Hm, maybe I need to start throwing more lures in this color. It's one I tend to stay away from (don't ask me why, I don't know). The lake I usually fish has about 6 inches of visibility on any given day (also Missouri), I usually throw white or chartreuse or a mix of the two.
Dark color that works for me is dark brown and purple jigs, soft plastics .... I have yet to catch a fish on black based colors whether it be black/ blue, black/ red, or black/ chartreuse. ..... next dark color I wanna try is junebug red
Don’t be afraid to lose a jig. I flip them into pads, bushes, fallen trees, under overhanging trees. I fish soft bottom bodies of water so I hop them along or swim them just above cover. I fish from the bank so heaviest jig I use is 3/8ths. For heavy cover a compact 3/8ths or 5/16ths jig with a streamlined trailer. Once I stopped flipping next to cover and started flipping into the middle of cover is when I started getting results. I’ve lost 5 or 6 jigs since June but have landed 14 fish, biggest being 4 pounds.
@@farrzmd3038 wow nice yeah I use a medium heavy power fast tips for jigs and I throw a half ounce jig thanks for the tips I will try those and BTW I use a 7.5.1 gear rachio it’s the lews Xfinity speed spool and I use the lew’s laser sg1 speed stick
@@Outdoor_Jack I use very similar gear. 7’0” MHF with a lews classic pro reel. I lost every single 1/2oz jig and kept bringing back leaves and gunk from the bottom. Made the switch to 3/8ths and havnt looked back

Black or black and blue had been a go to for me for a long time as well. Seems to work in any water clarity as well.

Thank you Tyler I will upgrade my tackle box.
You should make a video on what rod and reel to choose for what and when, would really help

"That's a big Minnesota bass!" I want that bumper sticker. Maybe another one that says "GOSH!"
Great video 📹 Right on with the color. However white seams to be the right color for it represents shad. Thank you.

@@TylersReelFishing still, much respect for you using the 4 as your main chest camera

I hope that catches trevally fish where I'm going to go fishing this weekend.
Nice
A curiosity question: I have spent the last 3 years fishing salt water will some of the swim baits I used down there work in fresh water as well?
Yes they do
Black and blue and watermelon/GP are the only three colors I use. I will very rarely use anything other than those.
Amen to that
Regards from Germany i love your Videos
Would you do the same thing for chatterbaits? Like a shad colored on a sunny day and a black and blue in the same water visibility just a cloudy day.
Yep!
its crazy how well black and blue works when its fully overcast
Are u doing anything for the team seas thing?
Yes!

I'm a grandpa and we never threw black and blue "back in the day". We fished any color worm as long as it was purple.
Purple fits into this category

Paused the video and texted my grandpa and he said black worm with red flake😂
So is there a rhyme or reason to the color of the fishing jackets? Red for bank fishing / grey for boat?
Nope haha. Red is a warmer jacket
@@TylersReelFishing Crap... I thought my problem was just that I was wearing the wrong jacket....

I'm catching alot bass 2-5 pounds with white soft plastics
It’s funny how studies show that bass see black and blue as the same color yet you don’t hear how straight black or straight blue works just as well lol
I have a theory that the most popular colors might not necessarily more effective but catch more fish by virtue of being used so often.
Definitely could be the truth. There is some truth though to the science I talked about
Flip Flop God 😂😂😂😂😂
Always rockin the flops
you should hake a video where you have one rod on the boat and its a jig...you go out and your goal is to get a 6 plus
The last two catches weren't on black and blue looked like one was PBJ and the other was a different color than black and blue
Yes a few at the end were PB&J, which fits into the same category of “dark colors” this video was more about dark colors than actual black and blue.
I actually hardly ever use black and blue
First?
Titles are SO DANG ANNOYING
