I have 273D00 fault code but i get it rarely, not all the time. And my chain does not rattle at all! BMW said my vibration damper is heavily worn so perhaps i change that and the crankshaft sensor?
@@BigHumz155 Thanks for watching. What is the mileage of the car? A failing crankshaft sensor would cause the engine to cut out and stop, whether at idle or while driving. When this happens, you can usually restart the engine, and it may behave normally for a few days before the issue recurs. If the damper pulley is cracked, it’s a good idea to replace it as soon as possible. However, I don’t think it’s related to the crankshaft error code. I’ve experienced damper pulley failure while driving-the pulley was smashed and thrown out, and the belt was broken-but no crankshaft error code was triggered. I would recommend keeping an eye (and ear) on the timing chain.
Hey Mate... EXCELLENT video ... I have an F55/B37(D) and fcan't ind any information how to check and change the Transmission Oil ... Can anyone please point me towards the information I need??
Hi, sorry but I don’t have much information about that transmission. Only way I’ve seen it changed is you measure the oil drained, and same amount goes back in. But this method only works if there are no leaks.
Thanks for watching. Two working days if we count the hours. I only have time to do these projects after work in my spare time, so it was split across multiple days.
I have code 273D00 speed monitoring: difference between camshaft and crankshaft position too high (intermittent) no rattle B37C15A I’m wondering if chocked VANOS solenoid could cause the code?
@@roningelertIf I remember correctly some similar fault code was present on the red mini from the video, camshaft cranckshaft correlation... B37C15A doesn’t have Vanos system being a diesel car.
Great job! 👍
Thanks!

This series was very helpful, Thanks! How long did it take you to do the timing chain replacement?

@@amilcarbenedith5949 appreciate your comment, thanks
You can tell you have changed 100s of these engines timing chains lol
Thanks for watching! 😊 Maybe not 100 but I’ve done a few for sure! All the best

@@W15Garage looks like I’m going to Bev changing the timing chains! Cam cover off first to check for slack?
@@roningelert yes, only the top one will be visible at that point, but usually top one is getting stretched

You didn’t have to take the engine out to do the timing chain. Why do you do it that way
Did you manage to do it without removing the engine? If so well done! Back then I didn’t have a proper car lift, for me this was the easiest way.
@W15Garage how to do it without removing on the f55?
