Jet Jaguar should come back as an Alien technology-hybrid Jaeger in a Godzilla and Pacific Rim crossover, along with Mecha Godzilla and other mechanical Kaiju. The Alien technology would be the explanation for his size-changing ability, or "Molecular Amplification" as I think it should be called. They could also get creative with this ability like they did in the western comic book adaptation.
They could go the G1 Fortress Maximus route by making Jet Jaguar come in human size, vehicle size and kaiju size that all combines into one. Each for different use and throwing in nanites to cover the size difference. Maybe the original Jet Jaguar starts off as a human sized robot built to be a benign assistant like those real world robot assistants made to help people.

Goszilla vs. Megalon is the first and only Godzilla movie that I ever saw in the theater. I was probably 6-8 years old and had had already seen other Godzilla movies on TV. Since I was a fan of robots, I loved Jet Jaguar, although even at that age, I realized how implausible all the things he did were. Also, I have a vague memory of seeing a different version of Jet Jaguar in recent years, from something animated. I can't recall what it was in, but I remember that its arms and legs were more robotic looking, and it was kaiju sized.
I had to pause this video halfway through due to the tease of his theme and spend about two and a half minutes to "sing-along" before coming back to finish this.
