I think that many of you did not get the idea of the video. I got the gear 6 months ago and I already did the review that I promised to the company. This video now was my idea and I thought that it might be useful for potential buyers. I have never been asked to do it. I understand that the price is high and definitely not for everyone but if the video helps to even one person I will be more than happy! Yes, but it is expensive! You don't need to buy anything. I did all of my trips with gear that I can afford. So on the question would I buy it? No, because I cannot afford it but it doesn't mean that I cannot give a fair review. I never ever did anything just for money and there is no chance to change myself in the future. All the best!

Thank you very much pavlin. I will buy this gear. The durability is very important. The biker gear lasts a long time so the price is relative. I bought a pair of daytona for 380 Euro and they lasted 16 years. The ixs for 250 only lasted 2 years... so the ixs are more expensive. 😀
Hi, in my experience leather gloves always get waterlogged. But non-leather gloves with a good Gore-Tex type liner do keep dry inside (unless you turn heated grips on). Enjoy your videos - stay safe😉
I am looking to purchase this jacket & pants next week. I am 6’1 and 180 lbs. My chest is 39”. According to the size chart I would be towards the upper end of medium. Should I go up to a size large? When it gets cold, my plan is to add a mid layer heated (Mosko Moto) jacket liner. I am trying to figure out which size would work best for me. Any advice?

@@motorcycleadventures First ride and test in 11 degrees passed. I feel cold, but I don't freeze to the bone only in Red-Line thermoactive underwear. The jacket and pants are very stiff as if they were made of sheet metal. My lady's clothing Klime is also made of Gore-Tex and is softer and fits better and looks a bit better. We'll test it even longer in different conditions and we'll see. These are just first impressions.
Tipp for those on a limited budget like me: Oxford mondial is very similar and could be a cheaper alternative. Did some research after this video. Have fun!
I guess to be totally dry, perhaps a dry suit's latex neck seal. Problem with that is that the latex will deteriorate over time and will need to be replaced on a regular basis. It also might not be the most comfortablest thing to wear.
I am about to combine the dominator GTX pants with either sand 3 or defender 3gtx, does anybody know If the zippers fit to each other ? Jacket is to expensive for me…..

I have found that you need to get one size bigger than normal but Rev'it do make nice gear. I just got the offtrack jacket & trousers. I couldn't afford the gore-tex. I also bought the dirt 3 gloves. Very comfortable just need them to soften up a bit inside where the seems are as the dig into my thumbs. I just wear waterproof socks if it rains.

I don’t like dark jackets and believe this one only comes in the white colour. Have you washed the jacket and how did that work out? I seem to get blasted with bugs and their blood stains.

Doesnt matter how waterproof it is. I will always take my rain gear with me, even if ive invested in laminated Goretex. Currently i prefer Z liner Jackets as they are cheaper and you can more often change your looks and Brand without getting bankrupt. I dont want to own a Jacket 'for a lifetime'. The manufacturers will keep pushing Every year something new and the stuff from the previous year will be declared as garbage. Thats why i dont like the idea of a 1000€ Jacket. I also dont want to be careful and look all the time after it because it was so expensive.
This is why product diversity is perfect: to each their own! I stopped carrying my rain gear after my current Spidi H2Out jacket kept me dry for over 8 hours. I know myself well enough and I hardly ever stopped to put my rain gear on once it started raining, just because I'm lazy and don't like to stop (telling myself the rain could stop again every minute). I still do prefer my rain-liner separate to the outer shell though, because it makes for a lighter and more breathable hot weather jacket, I can decide at the beginning of the day/ride whether it's going to be a "hot/dry" or "cold/wet" day and configure my jacket accordingly. Btw: my Spidi gear cost me less than half of the Rev'it, while it might not give me last 5% of performance, I still think the value for money is a lot better.
Cedric Franzen Well, my rain gear is just 2 parts and i always have the space for it. And its a good protection from the cold also. I dont Put it on when it rains, i do it in time! And its a good protection for the Main Jacket also
I got caught unexpectedly in heavy rain last Friday on a relatively dry day. No liner in my jacket or pants, I left them at home. I did have raingear in my side cases, ..... my raingear stayed perfectly dry.....inside my cases. Usually, my riding gear, without the liner, can cope with a reasonable amount of rain without getting me wet. But it was really pouring, and I was stuck in slow-moving traffic, so I was really soaked. Fortunately, it stayed dry afterwards, and when you are riding in the sun, everything dries really quickly. But it wasn't an enjoyable experience. But I'm like you, I don't like to spend €1000 on a jacket. But I can understand those who do.

Pavlin, verry good review ! I wonder, did you ride in hot weather (+25°c) ? How was the ventilation ? I can imagin that this jacket does not ventilate the same as a jacket that's not laminated ?
Great honest real world review Pavlin . I have the Poseidon jacket that you had but in the light colour .I think the collar height is a little low on this ,and on the Poseidon 2 they supply a removable storm flap/collar with it . This is perhaps the only way the Dominator could be improved for really wet days .
@@REVITsport That is great news .I hope that Pavlin is also able to review the Poseidon 2 jacket , as changes to ventilation were made as well .I own two Rev It jackets ,a Defender GTX and original Poseidon . The Poseidon is my ..go to...jacket and I love it . The ventilation on the laminate construction for warm weather isn't quite as good tho . The Dominator seems much better in this regard .
nice review. I am curios about two things, after your trip ends, the durability of the slide lock on the pants (mainly how it is attached to the fabric with those snaps) and the stitching on the gloves, on the index fingers with the constant velcro contact from putting them on/taking them off ...
Hey Pavlin, how did the boots hold up in the end? I'm debating whether to buy the ones you have or the Forma Adventure boots. I am a bit skeptical about the tightening system with that flimsy wire, I don't know but I will take your advice regarding their reliability and durability. I have those gloves and find them quite comfortable, mainly because of the liner and lack of seams on the inside of the fingers. A real down side of these gloves are the cuffs. If I wear a watch I can hardly close the velcro cuff, while my watch is not that big at all, if you would wear one of those Garmin adventure/fitness watches you would not be able to close the velcro flap. I also got the thin under/thermal gloves for extra warmth but they are a real pain in the but. They behave like the loop side of Velcro so they stick like glue on the hook side of all of the velcro parts. It’s really like having glue on your hands.
Great to hear you're happy with your new gear :) I'm myself considering the adventure boots from Rev'it as my Sidi Adventure with 50 000km has started to leak. Like the stiffer sole in the Rev'it boots. Just got their winter gloves and they work great.
Great review Pavlin!! I’ll definately checkout those boots next time. What gloves would you recommend for riding in Scandinavian climates - potentially cold and wet much if the time, but I have heated grips and I don’t want the palm if the gloves to be too bulky as I feel that compromises control. Nice gear, I could have used on my 6400 km trip Texas to Wyoming. I also found that gloves were the weakest part, but I took 2 pairs and ended up buying snowmobile gloves...worked great⛈️
Now, this channel too seems to be becoming a sales pitch for motorcycle riding gear and accessories. But I understand that when companies fund rides they expect kickbacks. But does it really matter if one gets two drops of water in your riding jacket, riding pants or boots ??? And if the riding gear costs, half the price of the motorcycle? Being a middle-class working man, with a passion for riding, I just cannot imagine buying riding gear for this sort of money, maybe not in this life. But I have still managed to ride on some of the most dangerous and treacherous roads in the world and got back alive, in my middle-class riding gear. So, in fact, it's the ride that matters and so much the brand or the price. Because everything is made in China for the price of a packet of chips.
If you think that I am trying to sell you anthing you are completely wrong! The idea is to share my opinion for those who interested. If you don't okay but I cannot see any reason to blame the channel!

All I said was in simple English was that the minute sponsors get involved in riding channels, the entire idea of that platform gets defeated. And the whole idea of your channel is to tell people about your riding experiences, your motorcycle set up, the gear you carry, the do's and dont's from your vast riding experiences and the genuine advice you give to people as an experienced adventure rider is welcomed in the most enthusiastic manner by your subscribers. But promoting brands and telling people that what they might be using is cheap and not good, might not go down well with most people. Also please beware that big international brands love to use free platforms to promote their products but will take you down, the minute you say something negative about their products or promote anything else over their product. Anyways! These are just my thoughts and they might strongly differ very much from the other subscribers of your channel. Like yourself, I too sometimes feel to be direct in expressing my feelings. But I hold no negative thoughts about anyone, as negative thoughts do not benefit anyone.

Great, unbiased review--I live in the USA, and the cost of medical care is extreme. For me, I have a $7000 deductible on my health care insurance, meaning I have to pay the first $7000 of medical expenses (which here in the USA is one visit to the hospital in a lot of cases). So, the way I look at it, spending $3000-$3500 on a jacket, pants, gloves and boots is worth it because if it protects from braking bones (versus cheaper gear which may not), it still saves me at least $3000 (plus, I am self-employed, so being off work due to injuries would cost me a lot of money, too)--I may have to save a long time to buy the best gear but it would be worth it to me.
I've seen you ride in snow, rain, very dangerous trails and even in the back of a truck with your motorcycle. Incredible adventures! I have no doubt in your gear reviews and honesty. I make it a point to ride at 25% of my abilities and 50% of my comfort. When things get worse than that, a good room and dining is a must. I'm not even close to your expertise! Wow, people actually complain about the price in this day and age?! Look, nobody is asking you to buy this if you don't have the money, just consider what Pavlin has to say. Yes, he got it for free from Rev'it but knowing him, if the gear was crap he would have said it! Even if this is a sales pitch, which it is not, nobody is forcing you to buy it. It's like everybody these days are just waiting for negative reviews just so they can say "That is expensive crap, I knew it!". Deep down you all would like to have this kind of gear, but if you can't afford it that is also completely ok, buy the gear in your price range, there is plenty about to choose from. I have several cheap Rev'it jackets and pants and I have utmost respect for the company, nothing has failed me so far and I'we been abusing it in all kinds of weather. So I do plan to invest in some more expensive stuff soon, it will last me longer and I'm not consumer oriented so that I have to change the gear every two years. If I had Dominator or Poseidon and it lasts for 10 years with no problems, that is good enough investment for me. Sorry for the rant, you all ride safe! Cheers guys!
Yes ! Some people have to work for their money in these days and age too and at the same time are experienced enough after riding for thirty years, to differentiate between what is value for money and what is expensive crap. I never mentioned in my comment anywhere that it was a sales pitch or anyone in the video was being a salesman. All I said was that if one has sponsors then kickbacks are expected, which eventually defeats the actual purpose the channel. Now that is if you understand English and it's quirks. And how do know what someone might be wanting? I am an adventure rider and for me riding gear does matter but what brand, I do not give a shit, because what matters is the ride. I had Poseidon in India and Bangladesh two years ago. With this model I reached 30 degreec a number of times.
Good test and therefore accurate, believable review. Good kit costs, but worth it if you are serious about staying comfortable.

As you can see in my videos I use it all the time in any temperature ranges between 0 and 38 degrees.

I'm impressed with the gear, Pavlin. People with pacemakers might frown at the *magnetic* chest ventilator flaps, though!
We actually already have a solution for that as we have plastic replacements for those!

Yes, you can tight the colar. I washed once but once it gets durty you cannot make it perfect.

I got caught unexpectedly in heavy rain last Friday on a relatively dry day. No liner in my jacket or pants, I left them at home. I did have raingear in my side cases, ..... my raingear stayed perfectly dry.....inside my cases. Usually, my riding gear, without the liner, can cope with a reasonable amount of rain without getting me wet. But it was really pouring, and I was stuck in slow-moving traffic, so I was really soaked.
Fortunately, it stayed dry afterwards, and when you are riding in the sun, everything dries really quickly. But it wasn't an enjoyable experience.
But I'm like you, I don't like to spend €1000 on a jacket. But I can understand those who do.

What are your observations comparing to your previous set (Poseidon GTX) especially regarding warm/hot weather (above 30 - 35 C)?
This model has a better ventilation but it is a bit heavier.
Pavlin, verry good review ! I wonder, did you ride in hot weather (+25°c) ? How was the ventilation ? I can imagin that this jacket does not ventilate the same as a jacket that's not laminated ?
Yes I did it many time on temperatures up to 38 degrees. The ventilation is very good.
Great honest real world review Pavlin . I have the Poseidon jacket that you had but in the light colour .I think the collar height is a little low on this ,and on the Poseidon 2 they supply a removable storm flap/collar with it . This is perhaps the only way the Dominator could be improved for really wet days .

@@REVITsport That is great news .I hope that Pavlin is also able to review the Poseidon 2 jacket , as changes to ventilation were made as well .I own two Rev It jackets ,a Defender GTX and original Poseidon . The Poseidon is my ..go to...jacket and I love it . The ventilation on the laminate construction for warm weather isn't quite as good tho . The Dominator seems much better in this regard .
nice review. I am curios about two things, after your trip ends, the durability of the slide lock on the pants (mainly how it is attached to the fabric with those snaps) and the stitching on the gloves, on the index fingers with the constant velcro contact from putting them on/taking them off ...
I can tell you right now because I had the same on my Poseidon - no problems at all.

Hey Pavlin, how did the boots hold up in the end? I'm debating whether to buy the ones you have or the Forma Adventure boots. I am a bit skeptical about the tightening system with that flimsy wire, I don't know but I will take your advice regarding their reliability and durability. Thanks for all you do it is extremely helpful!
The boots are still fine. A small leak, after 8 hours on the rain, but nothing lasts forever.

I have those gloves and find them quite comfortable, mainly because of the liner and lack of seams on the inside of the fingers. A real down side of these gloves are the cuffs. If I wear a watch I can hardly close the velcro cuff, while my watch is not that big at all, if you would wear one of those Garmin adventure/fitness watches you would not be able to close the velcro flap. I also got the thin under/thermal gloves for extra warmth but they are a real pain in the but. They behave like the loop side of Velcro so they stick like glue on the hook side of all of the velcro parts. It’s really like having glue on your hands.

I had a friend whose wrist was broken by his steel watch when he crashed, so now I take my watch off and put it in my pocket while riding.

Great to hear you're happy with your new gear :) I'm myself considering the adventure boots from Rev'it as my Sidi Adventure with 50 000km has started to leak. Like the stiffer sole in the Rev'it boots. Just got their winter gloves and they work great.

Great review Pavlin!! I’ll definately checkout those boots next time. What gloves would you recommend for riding in Scandinavian climates - potentially cold and wet much if the time, but I have heated grips and I don’t want the palm if the gloves to be too bulky as I feel that compromises control. Nice gear, I could have used on my 6400 km trip Texas to Wyoming. I also found that gloves were the weakest part, but I took 2 pairs and ended up buying snowmobile gloves...worked great⛈️

Now, this channel too seems to be becoming a sales pitch for motorcycle riding gear and accessories. But I understand that when companies fund rides they expect kickbacks. But does it really matter if one gets two drops of water in your riding jacket, riding pants or boots ??? And if the riding gear costs, half the price of the motorcycle? Being a middle-class working man, with a passion for riding, I just cannot imagine buying riding gear for this sort of money, maybe not in this life. But I have still managed to ride on some of the most dangerous and treacherous roads in the world and got back alive, in my middle-class riding gear. So, in fact, it's the ride that matters and so much the brand or the price. Because everything is made in China for the price of a packet of chips.

All I said was in simple English was that the minute sponsors get involved in riding channels, the entire idea of that platform gets defeated. And the whole idea of your channel is to tell people about your riding experiences, your motorcycle set up, the gear you carry, the do's and dont's from your vast riding experiences and the genuine advice you give to people as an experienced adventure rider is welcomed in the most enthusiastic manner by your subscribers. But promoting brands and telling people that what they might be using is cheap and not good, might not go down well with most people. Also please beware that big international brands love to use free platforms to promote their products but will take you down, the minute you say something negative about their products or promote anything else over their product. Anyways! These are just my thoughts and they might strongly differ very much from the other subscribers of your channel. Like yourself, I too sometimes feel to be direct in expressing my feelings. But I hold no negative thoughts about anyone, as negative thoughts do not benefit anyone.

Great, unbiased review--I live in the USA, and the cost of medical care is extreme. For me, I have a $7000 deductible on my health care insurance, meaning I have to pay the first $7000 of medical expenses (which here in the USA is one visit to the hospital in a lot of cases). So, the way I look at it, spending $3000-$3500 on a jacket, pants, gloves and boots is worth it because if it protects from braking bones (versus cheaper gear which may not), it still saves me at least $3000 (plus, I am self-employed, so being off work due to injuries would cost me a lot of money, too)--I may have to save a long time to buy the best gear but it would be worth it to me.

I've seen you ride in snow, rain, very dangerous trails and even in the back of a truck with your motorcycle. Incredible adventures! I have no doubt in your gear reviews and honesty. I make it a point to ride at 25% of my abilities and 50% of my comfort. When things get worse than that, a good room and dining is a must. I'm not even close to your expertise! Wow, people actually complain about the price in this day and age?! Look, nobody is asking you to buy this if you don't have the money, just consider what Pavlin has to say. Yes, he got it for free from Rev'it but knowing him, if the gear was crap he would have said it! Even if this is a sales pitch, which it is not, nobody is forcing you to buy it. It's like everybody these days are just waiting for negative reviews just so they can say "That is expensive crap, I knew it!". Deep down you all would like to have this kind of gear, but if you can't afford it that is also completely ok, buy the gear in your price range, there is plenty about to choose from.
I have several cheap Rev'it jackets and pants and I have utmost respect for the company, nothing has failed me so far and I'we been abusing it in all kinds of weather. So I do plan to invest in some more expensive stuff soon, it will last me longer and I'm not consumer oriented so that I have to change the gear every two years. If I had Dominator or Poseidon and it lasts for 10 years with no problems, that is good enough investment for me. Sorry for the rant, you all ride safe! Cheers guys!

Yes ! Some people have to work for their money in these days and age too and at the same time are experienced enough after riding for thirty years, to differentiate between what is value for money and what is expensive crap. I never mentioned in my comment anywhere that it was a sales pitch or anyone in the video was being a salesman. All I said was that if one has sponsors then kickbacks are expected, which eventually defeats the actual purpose the channel. Now that is if you understand English and it's quirks. And how do know what someone might be wanting? I am an adventure rider and for me riding gear does matter but what brand, I do not give a shit, because what matters is the ride. And by the way, thank you for the advice about the plenty of riding gear to choose from, I know what to choose, that is value for money and not cry about if a drop of water does get into my riding jacket, pants or boots.
I already did the review of the gear a few months ago.This long term opinion was my idea and no one ever asked me to do it. I thought that ity might be useful for those who wondering how good it is.

The way of expression by calling a middle-aged gentleman as " dude " only goes to show your class. Secondly, I do not have to prove anything to you about my riding skills or the gear I use or in fact the bikes I ride or the bikes I have ridden in my entire career as an adventure rider. I am an adventurer and for me, it's the adventure that matters and not the kind of motorcycle or the riding gear. I am tough enough to withstand the elements and it this attitude that has kept me going along the way in my motorcycle riding career and not the sort of riding gear I chose to wear. The sole reason that I follow Pavlin is because of his no-nonsense approach to the motorcycle adventure touring. But when it comes to speaking my mind as he does on certain issues, I will make it known. Last but not least let me take this opportunity to ask you, as to how many years have you been riding motorcycles ??? or been into motorcycle adventure touring ??? Cos, you do not sound like a biker or a motorcycle adventure rider. You more seem to be a living room rider, who loves to sit in front of the television or the computer screen and follow people who actually are doing something.
