And I can honestly say this is the best review because it’s actually a review from a long-term owner and not some piss in my pocket marketing dribble. Thank you very much for taking the time to put it together. You not only did it, but did it proper well 👌🏼🙏
I own a jacket exactly like yours (only in blue) and I have to say your review is, above all, spot on! Then you have to add the joy it is to ear your amazing accent which is, in my humble opinion, one of the most charismatic of the English language. In my 1 year experience of the jacket, with a 5000 kms trip on using it, it's one of the best jacket for 4 seasons riding. Im taking it to Marrocos in a mount, having been to the snow of the Alpes. That says it all. PS: in my way to the Alps I´ve had a 900 kms day in the pouring rain and (although I ended up putting my rain suit on) it was fairly water resistant. I ended up buying one for my pillion (my wife) exactly the same.
I bought this jacket. That’s why I’m watching your video. I was curious what all the extra straps on the shoulders and back do. I like your ideas of wearing the water proof layer on the outside. That makes far more sense. Thank you!
Thank you for clearing up a few things that were unclear in other reviews. Especially the waterproof liner over top and seeing what it looked like. And explaining the venting in detail. I have the Sand 4 pants already so will be ordering this jacket. 👍👍
I survived hitting a deer at 100Km with an early version of the Klim Latitude JAcket. The Jacket looked like i had been attacked by a grizzly bear. But no skin abrasion. The Sand has better abrasion protection at 600D throughout the body. The advantage of the lamination is you dont have to stop. But most of the time in a group or with a pssenger they'll have to stop to overlayer rain gear.If you put the liner over the coat does not get soaked. and you dont wear the "lamination" all the time. Thanks very good Review. Rev'it owes you one.
After the crash into a deer at 100Kph. I decided that the Alpinestar air bag will offer the best protection. Had i been wearing the Air bag...i would not have broken clavicule and 6 broken ribs. With the air bag i would probably have walked away, So not having to pay for S2 armor that i wont use is for me a great choice.
I have this jacket and really love it. Feels good comfortable. Even bought the pants to make it complete. I indeed also found it strange to buy a back protector but maybe other people choose other protectors so REV'it left them out. Nice take on putting the waterproof jacket on the outside 😂 surely going to try that. Cheers from NL.
Best review of a jaacket iv seen in a while, would have liked to see how the cuffs work with winter gloves, i find this can be an issue sometimes. I hope u buy more jackets and review them.
Great review!! Subscribed! I'm looking for an enduro jacket. My brother loves his Klim Dakar jacket. I'm looking at other options just to see what's out there.. This was a careful, thorough review. Thanks a ton!
Nice review. I've got the Sand 3 and love it and no reason to think I wouldn't like this one. An alternative to putting the liner on the outside (Great idea BTW!!) to prevent 'wetting' is to spray the outer shell with waterproofing a couple of times a season. Boom. I'm looking at the Sand 4 as I like to keep a laminate suit and a liners suit in the wardrobe and my Sand 3 is a bit worn now. The trousers to the Sand 3 are the unsung heroes and I'm hearing it's the same with these. Toodle pip!
This is the best bike jacket i ever owned. ☺️ I sport the camo version shown in your video, with the original Revit back protector installed. This is by far my favorite jacket. Thank you for the excellent review. 🥳
good see review from a scot. i looking at buying this jacket as a scot i have knox armor i layer up how getting in to the winter i find i need so meany layer to keep worm
Looks good. I like all the vents. I wear a mesh jacket most of the time and add insulation under and/or a rain jacket over for wet or cold. Mostly I ride in extreme heat. High 30's to low 40's in northern Argentina. Same formula works in northern US but I use the layers a lot more. Price of the Sand 4 scares me away. I'm on a tight budget and my bike only cost $1500.
I bought richa gortex mostly worn all times ...then a oxford laminate for gentler weather both been great not silly expensive...and not found any bad design faults in either jacket....👍
I bought the alpinestars drystar andes V3 and with the inner liner I've ridden in -12C without feeling cold. It might be a bit hot in summer even without the liner and the vents open, but I'll find out in about 2 months.
@@TheKonstantinius I only have the jacket, not the pants. I have Knox double layer Kevlar jeans and wear thermal pants under them. I’m sure the drystar pants would be a lot warmer since they have a thermal liner
Thanks Troy aye great jacket but not the cheapest mate. Plenty of options out there though. A decent mesh summer jacket can always be made waterproof or warmer with an outer jacket 👍
nice video, I want to use this jacket more in spring/summer for touring and long journeys, is ventilation good, is versatility also? there is currently a price drop/offer due to Black Friday/Christmas around €280, it is worth buying this jacket Any way great video Be safe
As I found out this morning the answer is no, cos it is sewn onto the thermal lining so they don't part 😞probably answered a month too late for you but someone else might want to know as well.
Nice review, personally l wear a old belstaff jacket Doesn't do much for pp if I come of but enough engine oil on it from my triumph BSA days the rain just runs off,I must think of changing as I don't bounce as good as I used to and yes I have and would wear to the dancing 😁
Haha sounds like me up until abt a year ago a few years of falling off and bouncing around jungle and gravel in se Asia I figured a few upgrades were in order lol
Wore a Belstaff for many years. I got a little too big to fit in it a few years ago. The Belstaff had holes worn in it from tying it to the sissy bar if my Triumph.
Fantastic review thanks! I’m upgrading from the RST Adventure Pro 3, which I chose largely because it hit the protection and functionality goals at the right price point. Really nice review - I especially liked how you showed the waterproof liner could go over the jacket. The RST one definitely couldn’t. Tbh with the RST I only ever used the water proof liner as a wind break at certain times of the year and just took the dev it roll up waterproof outter layers to wear over it in stead, but it’s good to know this liner it can work if needed. How have you found falling over in it? I tried a jacket on in store and was bothe relieved and concerned how thin the rip stop fabric was. The adventure pro three was big and Chun my and heavy with its cordura, which was often a pain, but you did feel very protected in it.
Have you bought this jacket since, i have an rst adventure pro series. I like it, i feel protected and the venting is great, i do find somwtimes the elbow armour is very stiff and not comfy. I too use the liner as a wind break, i bought an over the jacket waterproof jacket also, its a better job. For the cold months i would prefer a better liner and i can use an outer waterproof when i get caught in the rain. How does the rev it compare to the rst?
i wonder what the best waterproof 'over-jacket' item is that one could purchase. Then i would not have to replace my 15 year old TourMaster coretech jacket.
Having the liner on the inside is a crap idea. I pulled mine out, and bought the Cyclone H20 over jacket. Have the pants, and pulling the liner out of that as well, and buying the Acid H20 overpant, think about it. You’re on a multi day trip, and it pisses down with rain. You have a tent, and then you have to dry it out. Keeping the water away from the main body, makes it way easier to manage.
Nice review, but I don’t like the boil in the bag waterproofing. I have an Oxford Modial that is laminated so nothing to carry around, good price as well. Only issue has been the trousers …. Leaked x1 split x1 ( both times crotch) but sports bike shop sorted with replacements both times. Good idea to put the waterproof liner on the outside …. Thanks for the review.
Aye, give the dancin a miss😎, I like the jacket though. I have been wearing a Hein Gericke gore t ex jacket for around 12years. Still keeps me dry in heavy rain for long periods. I get the usual wet neck and wrists when out in it for hours.
I am still wearing my Dainese goretex jacket I bought back in 2021. Still perfect although I had to put a new zip on it a couple of years ago. This year I bought a Revit summer jacket which is perfect for the hot summers down here in Sicily. Thinking about wearing my kilt with the summer jacket to get added airfow and like you be ready for a wee jig at the end of my journey.😎🧐👍
A mate of mine drove from Balmullo to Germany ( cannae remember where ) on his motorbike wearing a kilt to a party. I remember bumping in to him on the overnight ferry. Needless to say we had a wild night.🧐
Yep except I rode 4 hours in torrential rain at night back from Argyle on Sunday. It was very dark, extremely cold, strong winds, wet and miserable. Needless to say I was happy not to be wearing vented summer gear with outstanding armour. As George Orwell once wrote, "All animals are equal but some are more equal than others". Thanks for watching mate.
@@WeeJaunt You're hardly the exception, but any jacket can be well suited to weather... A riding jacket is PPE that first and foremost exists to protect against impact and abrasion, everything else is secondary.
@@project.jericho Unfortunately, I wish it were so. A lot of riding gear is crap and not water, wind or weather proof.
