However S01 E10 (Revenge Of The Rogues) shows that in Barry's old rucksack, the 'nerd survival kit' there is a Batman comic inside which makes it seem like he is a fictional character in the universe.
That wasn't a batman comic it was something else but I forgot what it was, so yeah dc characters like batman and green lantern do exist in this arrow universe and are real.

Yeah u guys forgot to mention about Oliver's kid, when he bumped into that girl he knocked up (prior to being stranded on the island) in central city and right after they see each other, the girl got on the phone with her (obvioulsy little boys voice)son. In the TV show it's to calm Roy down by reminding him of Thea, but it's actually referencing Green Arrow's comic book sidekick "Speedy". Yeah u guys forgot to mention about Oliver's kid, when he bumped into that girl he knocked up (prior to being stranded on the island) in central city and right after they see each other, the girl got on the phone with her (obvioulsy little boys voice)son. Earlier in arrow a flashback explains that Oliver knocked her up and he told his mom about it and she payed the girl to go away and to not come back into their lives again.

What you have missed is that Arrow is also based in Robin Hood. John Diggle is Little John, Roy is Will Scarlet and Felicity is Lady Mariam. In the show I have seen some references of Sherwood Forest (arrow.wikia.com/wiki/Sherwood_Florist)
Theres one more thing I find interesting. Oliver slept with Isabelle Rochev, but that name is on the list that his father gave him, its only few names lower that Adam Hunt

In Season 2, when Roy was injected with Mirakuru, to control him at one point Oliver yells "Speedy!" In the TV show it's to calm Roy down by reminding him of Thea, but it's actually referencing Green Arrow's comic book sidekick "Speedy". They even discuss after this scene how Speedy won't be Roy's name.

I'm sure Verdant isn't actually a french word but it could be slang. As far as I'm concerned, it's a cross between the french word for green, which is Vert and the french word for bright which is Brillant.
Together, the two words would make Vertant or Verant. But honestly, no one says that. I don't understand why she would have thought verdant is a french word, where does the "d" in verdant come from? It might sound cooler, but hey, it doesn't really make any difference since it's not a word.
