Your lawn sure does look nice right now LE. Best I've seen it. I think the Robomower's frequent cuts make for a thicker lawn. I notice a big improvement in my lawn when I manage to cut with my standard mower, twice a week, instead of once. And the 1/3rd rule doesn't get broken.
Thanks Morte, we have had good rain this spring and the KBG is really filling in nicely. Also, the frequent cuts might be helping train the grass to spread out instead of grow up.
Thoughts on if the Luba 2 H version solves the cut quality issues of bending grass over. Trying to understand cut quality between Sunseeker and Luba 2 for high grass cuts.
Yes, it looks like the Luba 2H moves the entire chassis up off the ground to prevent laying the grass over. However, I think the SunSeeker still has a slight advantage with how open the cutting area is.
@@TheLawnEngineer Well that disappointing and a miss on their part, as it looks like a really cool device. You know what would be really rad? If Tesla and EGO collaborated on a robotic mower. IMHO, Tesla has solved the autonomous driving problem, just needs more data, and to refine the models and make some tweaks. EGO has an awesome lineup of lawn maintenance devices that all share their battery packs. That would be really cool.
Great video. 🫶 I have a Luba 1 5000, your lawn looks fabulous, when you edit your maps and obstacles, going around trees I have a big area that doesn’t get touched! Do you use a strimmer separately or does your Luba cut close to the tree? If so, how? Many thanks Nigel uk 🇬🇧
I do have to use a string trimmer around no-go zones but only for a few inches. The key is to add no-go zones around your trees. Also, select the most amount of laps possible around the no-go zones. The first lap is the furthest from the no-go zone and then it works inward.
Great video. I've been hoping someone would do a comparative reviews of these models. I have a Luba 1, but have a Yuka on order as the maximum cut height of the Luba is too short for my lawn. I also have some trees which make satellite reception challenging in some areas. If the Yuka doesn't work out, I may consider getting a Luba 2 high cut model. Do you have any plans to test other robot mowers?
Glad it was helpful! I don't have any other robot mowers on the way but I'm always on the lookout for additional opportunities to test. The Yuka looks very interesting, please let me know how you like it.
Loved the comparison. Can I please confirm with you since you have experience with multiple different machines. Are the cutting blade shaped different between them all? is it possible to buy generic cutting blades to replace them rather than buying from different company?
The basic shape of the blades seems the same across the different mowers, but some have two mounting holes and others just have a single hole. In reality, you should be able to swap them from machine to machine without any problem.
@TheLawnEngineer if you had to pick one based on cut quality, yard health, reduced bent grass, etc. rather than features and reliability, which would you pick?
@@TheLawnEngineer You need to add some way for companies to contact you to your RUclips profile so that companies who want to partner with you for testing can do so.
Really like your common sense reviews. Sorry to hear about the Sunseeker as I have the Plus 1.25 acre coming. Was supposed to ship June 9th week but probably delayed a week I am told because they need to do an update that was done after this version shipped. The July shipment will have the update done at the factory. I decided on the Sunseeker vs the Luba because of the turning ability of the Sunseeker plus another reviewer was not impressed so much with his Luba 2 as he said near his hedge it lost position. I have 3 large trees on my lawn and I need accurate positioning. I will be interested in what you find out about your issue with the Sunseeker. On youtube and facebook they seem to be responsive to people so I hope they will figure out your issue. There have been several Sunseeker reviews in the last 2 weeks and all were positive so I hope your issue is an anomaly. Keep up the informative reviews it is appreciated.
Thanks of the nice comment. I'm starting to think there is a mechanical issue with the height of cut mechanism. Hopefully, it's a one off issue. I'll dig into it more and update everyone with a video if I find anything.
Thanks for doing the review. You touched on my biggest concern regarding these mowers... how to resolve technical issues or mechanical issues. From what I can tell, there are no local dealers to contact nor are there any repair techs available to come to your house to repair these. If your bot breaks, you're dead meat unless you keep a spare push mower in your garage. I want to buy one, but I feel if I spend $2500 or more on a mower, I should have access to good Customer Service and repair techs. Do you agree?
Thank you for your review. I was considering the Orion X7. I’m glad I found out early that they don’t really stand behind their product or answer your email. There’s no excuse for this. I believe their operation is out of North Carolina? They lost sale from me!
You're welcome. They might have some office in North Carolina but I'm pretty sure my problem/emails were just being relayed back to China. I'm now thinking it's an issue with the cutting height mechanism. I will put out updates with any developments.

Can you test anthbot's lawn mowing robot, see the introduction feels very stable performance.
No, it looks like that mower still requires a boundary wire. I’m not interested in installation of a boundary wire.
Great video, I just changed my cut height to 1.8”
Made a lot of since on the higher cut, I had it set at the highest setting.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I'm glad you found some value in this video and could fine tune your cutting.

Wish you could get a hold of an Oasa R1.
Yes, they contacted me a while ago and then never responded…I’m not sure what’s going on with them.

Thank you!
Sorry, you missed the first bbq. I went with a Traeger pellet grill/smoker, loving it so far.
Terramow ?
That does look like an interesting unit; unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get my hands on one yet.
