  • In this video I am out in the field near Olivet Michigan as a local farm is making hay. In the video you will see two Deutz Fahr 5120G tractors as one is raking the hay with a Vermeer R2800 rake and the other is pulling a Vermeer 604R round baler with net wrap.

@@piperdoug428 gotcha 👍🏻 I used to use coveredge but when I would butt the bales together in a line I would get mold between the bales because the round edges made a place for water to run into. I could get the 4x5’s tight enough together to where it wouldn’t be a problem. But the heavier 5x5’s I couldn’t get them butted up tight enough. They’d mold every time. My Deere 458 didn’t rip the net too often at all. But the new holland br780 does it quite a bit. On your baler your spiral roller might be chewed up a little bit and causing it to tear with the coveredge

Kinda interesting the kinds of equipment the old Dutch company has stuck with over the years. They seem to shy away from the high tech gadgets as much as possible but still built well.

Nice video. I enjoy seeing different brands of machinery working in the field. Looks like they got the swath with dialed in well on the rake. The baler tractor didn’t weave much at all to get the nice shaped bales.

Awesome video, I work for Vermeer in Pella, Ia. I use to pull the materials to make the 604/605 balers for the welders and I helped assemble the 504’s for a few weeks. I currently work in plant 4 and assemble large brush chippers. Great company to work for and they make some awesome pieces of equipment from Ag, environmental , utility to small construction equipment.
