  • In preparation for this weekend's release of Halloween End's, I thought I'd go back to last year's Halloween Kills and share my thoughts on the film, which continues Michael Myers' reign of terror in Haddonfield. How does this movie hold up one year after it was released? Check out my review to find out what I think, then leave your own thoughts in the comments. Don't forget to hit that thumbs up and share this video.

I’m convinced we’re being trolled by the filmmakers at this point.

Your description of the fire fighters had me laughing, so true! Why does Michael seem like he's trained in combat in this scene as well?! Haha. There is so many things wrong with this film, I'm currently working on a review for this as well after revisiting it the other night. I realised I actually hate that whole hospital plot as well where the group mistake the other patient for Michael which leads him to kill himself

Yeah, it's just a really heavy handed metephor for the destruction that is being caused by division in America. There is zero subtlty in this film.

This one was OK but john carpenter's 1978s masterpiece Halloween 🎃 is one of my favourite films of all time I'm only a casual Halloween fan but love that original film its a masterpiece 👌

Halloween: Resurrection is still the unintentional comedy of the franchise.

I'm not a fan of kills at all. I agree with most of your points. I give the firefighters a pass since they heard their friend calling for help and maybe heard him being killed.

I quite like the film to a point, but I've got to admit, if I wasn't a long time Halloween fan I'd probably consider it bang average.
It says a lot that I'm booked in to see the new one tomorrow night but I'm not all that excited right now. Maybe it will surprise me.

Halloween Kills was a large letdown for me. The 2018 movie slapped me in the face with disregarding all continuity and this one made that futile exercise even more worthless.

The only movies in this series with good story and character in this series are halloween 1978 halloween 4 and halloween h20 the rest are just carnage candy with Micheal and I think kills does that the best so I like it for that

I think I have FINALLY figured out why this new trilogy is falling so flat for me. H2018 set out to erase ALL of the sequels. However, they are writing this story as if part 2 still happened with the exception of the brother sister storyline. They are using our memory of the whole franchise to make up for lazy writing and hoping our love for the history will make up for the fact that they erased all of it.
The kids were terrorized so I can see how Lindsey and Tommy have some hang-ups.
Laurie OBVIOUSLY was too because the physical fight was with him.
However, Nurse Marian...unless you count what happens in part 2 where she sees all the terrible things at the hospital, then she has no reason to be as traumatized. As a nurse, being grabbed isn't a new thing. Patients get violent.
As TERRIBLE as three murders are on one night, I know that that isn't enough to paralyze a town. However, a murder spree as in what happens between 1 and 2 could completely freeze a town.
Without part 2, Laurie was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. If you leave in part two, brother sister storyline or not, she has a reason to believe he's coming after her. He took out a whole hospital to get to her.
They were so hellbent on erasing history that they also erased the weight of Michael Myers on the town of Haddonfield. H20 worked so well because part 1 and part 2 were canon. There was a LOT at stake there. I think no matter what happens in Ends (and my hopes are NOT high) this trilogy is going to be very much one of those things where we just end up saying 'okay, but why though?"
Don't get me wrong. They are entertaining, but not one scene in any of these new ones has given me the same feeling of Laurie seeing Michael through the round window in H20 for the first time. And not one scene has felt as all or nothing as her screaming for Michael in the middle of the court yard with the ax.

Definitely agree. I can have fun enough with the kills in here but I’m a big plot and story guy, so this was overall just a huge disappointment for me as it felt like there was virtually no story being told the entire runtime.

I didn't really get any enjoyment out of Kills quite frankly. It looks gorgeous and has some great kills but the script is just abysmal and makes it really hard to enjoy the film. For me, this movie is basically a shitcake with delicious frosting.

Rewatched 2018 and kills last night in prep for going to see Ends today. Kills definitely gets worse on rewatch. 2018 actually gets better. The firefighter scene I really enjoy and the flashback is well done but the dialogue is pretty bad, Tommy Doyle character is really bad and the end is rushed (DGG even admitted they ran out of time filming on the last night so that's why it's cut together like a terrible music video).
    EVIL DIES TONIGHT BRYAN!!!

I myself am extremely disappointed in this new trilogy. The first Halloween 78 is such a classic all in itself. This movie is so special to me and I really wish they would have done better with these 3 movies. These DGG movies just disappointed me, as far as story and they direction they took lost me,

@@BryanLomax I agree. Leaving it at the end where all you hear is breathing and all the single shots would have been a kick ass ending. As viewer you get to decide what michael did after that night.

I think kills gets to much hate yes evil dies tonight is annoying as well and normal people don’t talk like this characters writing wise it is weak but that aside it has something to say about mob mentality does not say it the best but still something to say but at the end of the day we come to this series to see Michael kill people no motive no brother sister Rubbish just killing people and this movie does that I like how they fill out the boyfriend and Hawkins character arcs more than 2018

Very strong January 6th vibes in Halloween Kills, it's unnerving. Feels like the film is trying to make a commentary on the lynch mob mentality of modern society & it feels very uncomfortable.
