It’s true you can’t just watch opera, you feel it. And this is an opera-worthy talent. You captured the emotion of one of the most tragic characters in game history, which for me is so amazing.
I type in "Schala's theme cover" about once a week and this popped up. How is this even possible. Blending the violin and vocals and I think I saw a wind instrument. Your voice is angelic. I think I finally found my Schala's Theme.......and I've seen a lot. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. My eyes are filled with water. Omg the last fifth of the song just hit...............speechless. I'm crying....
If Square Enix ever makes a proper Chrono Trigger remake like they're doing with the Mana games, I hope they do something like this with the soundtrack 😍
I hope they do a better job of it, too. Trials of Mana is great (except for lack of multiplayer, one of the most endearing features of the Mana series), but the Secret of Mana remake was unimpressive at best
Tears of beauty. I used to own An Cinnuait, which is the OST to Mitsuda's work on the Atlus/Cattle Call PS2 game Tsugunai: Atonement. 2:20 sound almost exactly like his music on that album, and on that album he expressed how he wanted to bridge the gap between VGM and actual music. THIS cover expresses that and it does it beautifully. Yasunori-san would be proud of this.
Watched this now a couple of times and I gotta say the additions you made like the tempo changes makes it for me, how it sometimes go faster or slower as well changes the instruments helps keeping it engaging the whole way through to the end. Wonderfully performed and arranged
I am glad you noticed the tempo changes, Hugo! Every arrangement on the EP is full of them and even though it added a lot of complexity to arranging and collaboration, I wanted to make sure things sounded somewhat "off the grid". Thank you
Damn, how am I only hearing this for the first time?! I got SUCH a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky vibe from this and it works so well! Great job!
This tune is available to stream/download on all major platforms at album.link/BEAS Thank you so so much to my wonderful collaborators Brooke and Tera. They both have fantastic channels of their own that I have linked to in the endslate and description. Please check them out!
I've listened to this track a bunch of times, but your voice never fails to give me the best goosebumps 💜💜 Brooke's oboe compliments your tone so much, too! Thank you for letting me be a part of this amazing arrangement! 🎶
Thanks for this rendition, you give it your own style, and I like it. Schala's theme is hauntingly beautiful, once you hear it, you will never forget it.
Wow, excellently produced, performed, and edited! I absolutely love the cinematic video editing and the percussion/piano balance is beautiful. The phrasing requires so much breath control and expression and both you and Tera just knocked it out of the park. I’m so proud to be a part of this!
I can't believe I'm only just hearing this for the first time - this is so incredible!! Those intricate harmonies and the beautiful tones you've captured are just divine, it's so fantastic.
This is stunning! :) Schala's Theme has always had a special spot in my heart, and you three have captured every ounce of her in this cover~ I got chills when the lyrics started, and I may have had a few tears well up in my eyes XD They're so haunting and have such a subtle foreshadowing to them, painting a certain plot point so beautifully with so much detail captured in so few words. This is true skill and talent :) Thank you, all three of you, for sharing this with us~
All of you are such amazing talents! I don't know why it took me so long to finally watch the video, but I have done it! I knew this was going to be one of my favorite videos since it was my favorite track to listen to from the album. Terra and Brooke did such an amazing job with you in this video, I absolutely adore both of them always! Lorenzo and you did a super job with the videography too, you guys are gonna be unstoppable some day! Keep up the great work as always
Thank you, Ian! Glad to hear it was your favourite from the album! It's really cool that almost everyone seems to have a different track that's their favourite!
Outstanding cover. Although I wish the harmonies were a bit more complex I can definitely appreciate the relative harmonic simplicity of it. It's a very warm arrangement, I enjoyed it.
Thanks so much! I suppose you would have to elaborate on what you mean by "complex", but overall my goal was to have it sound somewhat folksy (maybe simple?) when the full ensemble is playing, with more impressionistic chords during the piano/vocal sections - lots of extended harmony there!
As always, Julia, amazing cover. You never fail to blow me away with your skills on musical art. The people who collaborated with you are amazing as well and I can tell you put tons of effort into this. (P.S I think the bird flying away was perfectly timed :3) Great work!
Thank you so much! You are right that Tera and Brooke are amazing. So cool that Lorenzo captured the bird flying away so that moment could be in the video :D
This is absolutely delightful, musically. I feel that the video portion could have used more work though. I miss the multi-views you used to do, where many copies of yourself wwre displayed at once. I think that could have been used to good effect here with the three of you arranged together all showing at the same time, and allowing my eyes to juggle between the three of you as the music was playing, rather than the forced cuts directing me to each of you individually.
Coming from as unbiased an opinion as possible, I actually quite liked the more cinematic approach! I don't think her arrangement of Schala's theme would've looked good with split screens... It would've been too busy and too many cuts for the style of the cover. I'm sure she will do split screens again for future covers! This just feels a little different since this album was part of her getting her Master's Degree.
Hi Jason! Glad you liked the music! I suppose we might have different definitions of "more work" on the video. This style definitely takes more time and effort, believe it or not, as I have done the splitscreen shots so many times that I have templates. Maybe, I just want to ensure Yasunori is creating the songs again..baby steps.
I hope they do a better job of it, too. Trials of Mana is great (except for lack of multiplayer, one of the most endearing features of the Mana series), but the Secret of Mana remake was unimpressive at best
Those eyes are outstandingly blue. And very beautiful I might add.

One of the best versions I've heard of Schala's Theme, congratulations!
I'm listening this while working in my internship , I had to retain some tears.Your version of schala's theme is breathtaking !
Oh my gosh, that is so sweet. To be honest, I was starting to tear up as well as this arrangement started coming together. Such a beautiful tune.
This is so perfect--I think this is my favorite schala I've ever heard. So good! The oboe is wonderf
Thank you David!! Means so much coming from you
She has a beautiful voice.

I love everything about this - the percussion, the vocals, the guest artists - just perfection
So happy you love it, thank you!!
I'm still breathless. This song is proof of pure and true feeling, full of emotion. Awesome job!! 👍
I want to thank those three angels who made me shudder with this song
♥️♥️♥️

I knew this was going to be good but not this good! why is it so good? you ladies are terrific!
Wow, excellently produced, performed, and edited! I absolutely love the cinematic video editing and the percussion/piano balance is beautiful. The phrasing requires so much breath control and expression and both you and Tera just knocked it out of the park. I’m so proud to be a part of this!

So amazing! :D
Great job. Poor Schala.
I watch over her...
Three dislikes are from Queen Zeal, Dalton and the Golem 🤔
This deserves more views 😥 So much shitty stuff has milions of views, but the real good stuff doesnt. Strange...🤔
Very kind of you to say, but luckily I am not too bothered by views! I love all the nice interactions in the comments much more
The violin player is so clearly adopted that it’s painful
Just like that..sing for me.
Male luna...

Hi Julia, definitely appreciate your thoughts on it, and I do enjoy that you're trying different approaches, I just have my own preferences :-)
NO!!!!! JUST NO!! NO, NO CHINS!!!!
Would have been perfect without the vocal part.
This was so well done. I love this song, and everyone did such a great job at it. 🥲
This is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for the fantastic cover.
Thank you so much 🥰
