For me I like the player I'm just tired of the rotation of defensive babysitting partners, 11 years and nobody has been able to make a pairing that consistantly works involving him?? Time to move on and try something else.
@@sdalal1110 I think it's because early expectations for Reilly were elite defender. He's a really, really good defender, as it rurns out, but because he's not top tier, people resent that. If he was a third round pick and battled for his top pairing spot, people would love him. Sorta like Tyler Bozak, who was unfairly made to play 1c, when he was a really good 2c or 3c. It's all about expectations.

Telling you folks … hockey keeps shooting itself in the foot. A good clean AF hit by Thompson on Matthew’s and Reilly steps in and basically gets rag dolled before he bails. Matthew’s was fine but every good hit nowadays and some bozo has to go after the guy!!!

@@Sarando1it’s a different game in 2024. He uses his body very affectively, and is very underrated on defense. Blocks a ton of shots too. This isn’t 1980 where Gretzky is wildly swinging a piece of lumber at the puck. If Matthews is injured he can’t execute the finesse plays
